Rebirth in HxH World With Gardevoir

Chapter 36: Envy's Ability

A figure stood at Larry's side. A humanoid Nen Beast—elegant, regal, and almost ethereal in its grace. It exuded an aura of pure mental power, standing like a noble guardian beside Larry. "Ke ke ke… Another Nen beast?!" Envy's reaction was the exact opposite of Piyon 's. Instead of fear, his excitement only grew. His twisted grin widened, his hands trembling in gleeful anticipation. "So first, you have an impossible ability to erase Nen… and now, you summon a Nen Beast this powerful?" His breathing grew erratic. "I have to kill you.I HAVE TO KILL YOU!"

Piyon snapped out of her daze. 'Wait. Larry has a second Nen beast?! And—it's strong enough to instantly counter Envy's attack?! This— This didn't make sense.' "Larry, aren't you supposed to be a Exorcist?!" She turned to him, expression half-incredulous, half-exasperated. "Why do you have a Nen Beast this powerful?! That's—that's not how it works!"

Larry gave her a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his head. "Uhh… maybe I'm just gifted?"

Piyon stared at him. For a brief moment— She felt an existential crisis coming on. 'This guy… how is he even real?!'

"You were laughing pretty hard earlier, Envy." Larry's voice cut through Envy's madness. His expression was calm, but his golden eyes gleamed coldly. "Let's see if you're still laughing in a few minutes."

A sharp pressure filled the air. For the first time Envy's expression wavered. "You monsters who take pleasure in killing—people like you should just die." Larry's voice was steady. His words weren't a threat. They were a statement.

Piyon blinked. Then, she smiled. "Larry, I'm all in—hands, feet, and even my tail if I had one!"

Larry paused. Then, he remembered something. Despite her cute and childish demeanor, Piyon was one of the most radical members of the Zodiacs. She wasn't the type to show mercy. In fact— She had been advocating for an all-out extermination of the Phantom Troupe. For someone like her, the Seven Deadly Sins were far worse.

Envy snarled, his eyes filled with hatred and obsession. "I'll kill you, brat!"

Larry smirked. "You can try." The Zodiacs may not be numerous, but their views on the association's direction are deeply divided. The radicals, conservatives, and neutrals each have their own stance, creating ongoing internal tensions.

As a radical, Pyorn completely agreed with Larry's words and didn't hesitate to voice his support. During their discussion, Gengar and Gardevoir stood at Larry's sides—one on the left, the other on the right. At the same time, they unleashed the full force of their aura. Two A-class auras exploded within the cave, sweeping through the space with a force even greater than the battle between Wrath and Satotz!

Wrath visibly shuddered, his massive, bell-like eyes snapping toward Larry, disbelief written all over his face. On the other hand, Satotz—who was aligned with Larry—was first stunned, then overjoyed. Larry's strength was far beyond anything he had imagined! Either of his two Nen beasts alone surpassed Wrath, the supposed powerhouse of this battle. "Mr. Larry's strength is truly astounding. To control two powerful abilities at once... That's no ordinary feat," Satotz thought, dodging Wrath's attacks while marveling at Larry's power.

Despite what seemed like a guaranteed victory, Satotz stuck to his strategy of dragging things out. Rushing in was too risky—better to wait for the perfect moment. He was waiting. Waiting for an opening.

Meanwhile, Gengar prepared another Shadow Ball, but this time, it wasn't just a casual attack.Dark, eerie aura gathered in front of it, condensing into a massive sphere. The Shadow Ball was at least a meter in diameter—far larger than before. Behind it, Gengar's scarlet eyes gleamed with malice, black mist curling around its body like a shroud.

Gardevoir, on the other hand, moved with the grace of a stage performer, lifting her hand with effortless elegance. A radiant light burst forth, followed by countless glimmering motes, drifting like stardust. It was Dazzling Gleam. Without hesitation, the two attacks were unleashed simultaneously, surging toward Envy, who looked completely unprepared. A massive, dark-purple Shadow Ball loomed above, while below, Gardevoir's dazzling magic sparkled like a galaxy in motion—a breathtaking yet deadly sight.

If this were a Pokémon battle tournament, Larry would have been crowned champion on the spot. But for Envy, there was no time to admire the beauty of the attacks. He reacted instantly, channeling his dark and murky aura as countless insects of varying colors poured from his body like a living tide. He was going all out just to survive the combined strike of these two A-class powerhouses!

BOOM! BOOM!

The cave echoed with relentless explosions, making Larry feel as if he were celebrating the New Year with fireworks. Envy was completely engulfed in smoke, his insects obliterated in an instant by the devastating attacks. The effort he had put into summoning them was meaningless—they were crushed like brittle paper. Behind Larry, Pyorn finally relaxed, suppressing his initial shock as he rushed to assist Satotz. He had nearly finished analyzing Wrath's weaknesses—just a little more, and they could turn the tide completely.

As the smoke slowly cleared, Envy's figure came into view, revealing his current state without reservation. "Heh, you're tougher than you look," Larry remarked, his tone carrying a hint of amusement.

"You little shit! I'm gonna kill you!" Envy's white robe was shredded, hanging in tatters as if he had just walked through a hailstorm of bullets. The clothes themselves didn't matter—what enWrathd him was the loss of his insects.

Unlike ordinary Nen users with conjuration abilities, Envy's aura wasn't simply about manifesting objects. He fused poisonous insects and venomous compounds with his own aura, forging them into living weapons. Each bug was created with care, each one costing him aura and raw materials. And just like that—Larry had wiped them all out.

To Envy, these insects were like Larry's Pokémon—once they died, they were gone forever. His sunken eyes locked onto Larry, burning with seething hatred. His cloudy pupils radiated murderous intent. There were two types of people Envy despised the most: Geniuses. And anyone who destroyed his creations. Larry was both.

Envy spread his arms wide, and from beneath his torn robes, large scorpions began crawling out. Each one exuded a potent, unmistakable scent. If the insects he'd used earlier were mere soldiers, then these scorpions were his generals.

While Larry's side had completely dominated the fight, the situation was reversed on Satotz's end—he was the one getting beaten down. Wrath, realizing that Satotz was only dodging, grew even more enraged. It was like trying to catch a slippery eel. His patience snapped. He clenched his massive fists, switching from palm strikes to brute force. His iron-like grip shot forward, aiming for Satotz's throat.

The sheer force of his attack made the air tremble, gusts of wind lashing against Satotz's face. At the last moment, Satotz abruptly bent backward, his entire body arching like a bridge. The sudden motion caused Wrath's grab to miss by mere inches.
