Rebirth in HxH World With Gardevoir

Chapter 37: Underestimated Each Other

Using the momentum, Satotz flipped backward in a fluid motion. As his legs swung over, he delivered a powerful kick straight into Wrath's stomach. His movements were seamless, flowing like water. The impact was intense—Wrath nearly went flying straight into the stone wall.

Before Satotz could even catch his breath, Wrath slammed his fist against the stone wall in frustration before charging at him once more. With no other choice, Satotz had to keep fighting. Luckily, there was finally some progress on Pyorn's end. "Satotz! Wrath's weak spot is his left waist! He took a serious injury there before—there are lingering internal wounds!"

Wrath's expression faltered for a split second. Satotz immediately glanced at his left waist. Sure enough, upon closer observation, the flow of aura around that area wasn't as smooth as the rest of his body.

This was it—his opening. Satotz clenched his right fist and launched an attack straight for Wrath's left waist. Wrath tensed, instantly redirecting his aura to defend the weak point. But because of the hidden injury, it took him extra time to properly reinforce his defense there.

That was exactly what Satotz had been waiting for. The moment Wrath focused all his attention on blocking his right hand, Satotz's left hand moved like a steel whip, crackling with Nen as it came down hard— Straight for Wrath's right shoulder!

Wrath's pupils shrank. He realized the feint too late. Most of his aura had been drawn to his left waist—there was no way to redirect it to his shoulder in time. 'Damn it!' Panic and regret flashed through Wrath's mind. Pyorn's words had rattled him, and Satotz—who had always fought cautiously—had suddenly taken a bold risk.

At this moment, Satotz had zero aura defending himself. His right hand, holding 50% of his Nen, was nothing but a decoy. The true strike came from his left hand, which carried the full brunt of his power.

BOOM!

Wrath's massive frame was sent flying. He crashed into the stone wall with a thunderous impact, the force embedding him deep into the rock. Unlike before, this time he didn't just bounce off—he was nearly buried in the wall itself. A streak of bright red blood ran from his right shoulder, trailing down his arm.

This was the first time in the fight that Satotz had managed to break through Wrath's defense. Yet, despite landing a direct hit, Satotz didn't celebrate. Because Wrath was already climbing out of the stone wall again. Superficially, he didn't seem too badly hurt. Satotz's eyes flickered with determination. This was his chance. He had to end this. He activated his Nen ability—Domain Imitator. In his mind, the movements of their entire battle replayed, converting into floating, tadpole-like symbols that drifted toward Wrath.

In an instant, the symbols latched onto Wrath's right arm, wrapping around it like living chains. Wrath's eyes widened. "The hell? What did you just do to me?!" His voice carried genuine shock. His entire right arm was bound by an unfamiliar Nen, and— He couldn't feel it anymore. Satotz exhaled. 'So it only worked on his right arm…'

He had spent the entire fight setting up his Nen domain. Every exchange of blows, every movement—he had been preparing for this. But maintaining the domain consumed a massive amount of aura. He had to fight in close combat while also keeping the ability active. That constant drain was the reason he hadn't activated it earlier.

Even with all that preparation, Wrath's aura reserves were still too deep to let him take full control of his body. So Satotz focused on a single target. His injured right arm. This way, he could conserve enough aura to fight while still crippling Wrath.

According to his estimate, he could maintain control for about ten minutes—more than enough to end this fight. Satotz willed his aura forward. And Wrath's right arm—now under Satotz's control—suddenly jerked. Then, without Wrath's command, his own hand swung at his temple, aiming to strike him down. "Shit!" Wrath scrambled to grab his right wrist with his left hand. His muscles bulged, veins popping as he fought against himself. His right arm thrashed violently, resisting his every effort to restrain it.

Even with his raw power, he couldn't stop it completely. Wrath's rough face twisted in shock as he looked at Satotz, who stood motionless, merely watching. 'He's an Emission-Type user?!' Even Wrath—simple as he was—immediately realized what had happened. He had triggered the conditions for Satotz's ability, allowing him to take control of his right arm.

Worse yet, Wrath could feel his aura being drained just from trying to resist. His face darkened, veins bulging like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

Then— He laughed. A deep, throaty, almost deranged laugh. "Hahahaha!! You think this is enough to stop me?! Do you even know who I am?! I am the Wrath of the Seven Deadly Sins! It's just a right arm! Who the hell cares? I'll give it to you!!!" As soon as he finished speaking— Wrath gathered every ounce of his aura into his left hand. Then Using his left palm like a blade He swung it straight at his own right shoulder. And cut his own arm off.

THUD!

His thick, muscular arm hit the ground with a heavy impact, a severed limb lying lifeless in the dust. He had amputated himself. The moment his arm detached, Wrath sealed the wound with his aura, preventing excessive blood loss. Satotz's eyes widened in disbelief. He had just witnessed a level of insanity he hadn't expected. This… This was on the same level of shock as when he first saw Larry's ability to erase Nen. He had completely underestimated Wrath's resolve. And the worst part was— The real fight hadn't even started yet.

The next moment, an overwhelming surge of aura exploded from Wrath's body. The sheer force of his aura wasn't any weaker than what Gengar and Gardevoir had unleashed earlier. A deep blood-red aura enveloped him, pulsating with raw rage. His entire presence radiated an almost primal bloodlust, a savage hunger to tear everything in sight apart. By amputating his own arm, Wrath had triggered his Nen ability's hidden effect—when suffering serious injury, his strength and aura output skyrocketed.

Now, he wasn't just a raging fighter anymore. He was a monster—a beast that had crawled out of hell, seething with Wrath, thirsting for destruction. "This is bad…" Cold sweat trickled down Satotz's forehead. His hands trembled slightly as he muttered to himself. His Nen ability had backfired. If he hadn't used it, if he had just kept stalling with evasive tactics, he might have lasted long enough for Larry to finish his fight and assist him. But now, not only had he failed to subdue Wrath—he had made things worse.

Both sides had underestimated each other. Wrath didn't know about Satotz's ability, which was why he was caught off guard and lost control of his right arm. But Satotz also didn't fully understand Wrath's Nen ability—he never expected this explosive transformation triggered by severe injury.
