Quirkless Hero

Chapter 157: Chapter 157: I refuse

"I refuse!"

"One of my favorite things to do is tell arrogant people *NO!*"

Midoriya Izuku's words stunned All For One. This kid… he wasn't playing by the rules at all.

"Did I hear that right? Midoriya-kun, you're actually refusing such a great offer? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

"You heard me. I refuse."

Midoriya rejected him without hesitation. There was no need to think about it. On the surface, it sounded like an offer that could benefit him completely. If he inherited *All For One's* Quirk, this man in front of him would no longer be a threat. The *League of Villains* wouldn't be a problem for All Might anymore. And in the future, maybe he could even use this power to help people.

But…

Midoriya Izuku was afraid.

He was terrified of his own power.

Ever since All For One gave him the Steel Wire Quirk, he had noticed himself changing… He had started to care less and less about human life.

When he saved Kouta, he had strangled that muscle-headed villain to death—without even a shred of regret afterward.

During the battle against *Shie Hassaikai*, he had only cut off Chisaki's arms… but deep down, what he really wanted to do was take that bastard's head. He had barely held himself back.

And now, within the *League of Villains*, when he heard that Toga Himiko's hands were stained with the blood of innocent people, he couldn't stop himself from wanting to kill her on the spot.

This terrifying urge was growing stronger and stronger, and it scared him.

What was he becoming?

Ignoring the law had made his moral boundaries blur. A *hero* was supposed to capture villains and bring them to justice. But right now, Midoriya just wanted to wipe them out.

He was lost. If he truly inherited *All For One*, he feared he might become something even worse than the man standing in front of him.

That kind of future… he didn't even dare to imagine it.

So Midoriya Izuku had only one answer for All For One:

"I refuse. And if possible, I'd like you to take back the Quirk you gave me. I don't need it."

"You really are something..."

All For One rubbed his head, feeling a slight headache. He was surprised by Midoriya Izuku's strong will, but there was nothing more he could do.

"Kurogiri, take Midoriya-kun away."

A swirl of black mist formed into Kurogiri. After bowing to All For One, he took Midoriya Izuku and transported him away, leaving All For One alone in the hall, lost in thought...

---

At U.A. High School, the fact that Midoriya Izuku had become an "enemy" had shocked everyone. But even so, classes had to go on.

In Class 1-A, Bakugo Katsuki had been acting strangely lately. He had gone from being a short-tempered firecracker who exploded at the slightest provocation to someone who barely spoke at all. Most of his classmates understood why—after all, he had always seen Midoriya as his biggest rival.

As for why Bakugo had become like this, it started right after Midoriya turned into an "enemy." He had begun investigating the situation himself. When he went to Midoriya's house, he found it completely empty. Later, his mom told him that Midoriya's mother had left for America.

Any information he found online was unreliable—just a bunch of clueless people making wild guesses or exaggerated news reports trying to grab attention.

On top of that, All Might hadn't been showing up to teach lately. The school said he was dealing with something important, so even if Bakugo wanted to get answers from a key source, he had no way of doing so.

Just as he was about to lose his mind over this, Shinso Hitoshi from Class 1-B suddenly approached him.

"Hey, explosion maniac. If you want to know about Midoriya, meet me at the school gate this Saturday at 10 AM."

"!?!"

Before Bakugo could ask anything, Shinso had already turned and walked away. So, Bakugo swallowed his questions and decided to wait until the weekend to get the answers he wanted.

For the past few days, Bakugo had been restless, waiting for the weekend. Finally, Saturday arrived, and U.A. students were free to do as they pleased.

Bakugo showed up at the school gate half an hour early. He was eager to find out what that sharp-eyed guy wanted to say.

"Ah, Bakugo-kun!?"

Before he even reached the gate, he heard someone call out to him. He turned to see Uraraka Ochako waving, standing next to Takeyama Urei, who was looking at him with clear annoyance.

"What are you two doing here?"

"Shinso-kun told us to come and meet at the school gate this weekend," Ochako answered.

Takeyama Urei, looking displeased, crossed her arms and said, "Why would Shinso ask you to come? This can only mean trouble."

"Tch, you idiot woman!"

Their eyes immediately sparked with hostility, and if no one stepped in, they might actually start a fight.

"You two, calm down. Don't draw the teachers' attention."

"Todoroki-kun?!"

The one who stopped Bakugo and Takeyama Urei was Todoroki Shoto, who had appeared without them noticing. Just then, another voice joined in.

"Hello, is everyone here?"

"Hatsume Mei?! You're here too?!"

Uraraka Ochako gazed from afar as Hatsume Mei, carrying a large backpack, slowly walked out of the school and waved from a distance to greet everyone.

"Looks like everyone's here."

"Shinso!"

The last person to arrive was Shinso Hitoshi, the one who had gathered everyone at the school gate. No one knew what he wanted to do.

"Spill it, you triangular-eyed freak. What information do you have? Hurry up and tell us."

Bakugo Katsuki, not in the best of moods, was clearly annoyed. If it weren't for wanting information about Midoriya, he wouldn't have been here for the past week. If Shinso didn't give him a satisfying answer, Bakugo was ready to make him regret it.

"Calm down."

Shinso raised his hand to signal everyone to gather around him. Once he saw no one else nearby, he spoke in a low voice.

"I've quietly figured out Midoriya's location, so I'm planning to go see him."

"But you all understand how important this is, right? We can't let the heroes or the police find out!"

Shinso's words made everyone fall silent. They all wanted to see Midoriya and had so much to say to him.

"Also, I need to warn you all in advance. Going to see Midoriya could be dangerous. There's a chance we might even get expelled by the school afterward. That's why I'm only telling a few of you who are close to him."

Silence fell over the group as they thought about what Shinso said. It didn't seem like the best idea, but...

"Shut up and just take us there!"

Bakugo grinned menacingly, confirming his intent. He wasn't going to let this situation slip by.
