Quirkless Hero

"…Why did you call me here?" 

"So, you've arrived." 

In the dimly lit hall, Midoriya Izuku stood still. Kurogiri had told him that All For One wanted to see him and had brought him here through a warp gate. This was the hideout of the League of Villains, a place far from where All For One usually resided. To meet him, one had to be transported through Kurogiri's portal. 

Midoriya didn't know which city this was, but through the window, he could tell they were at the top of a skyscraper. All For One sat in an office chair, his back facing Midoriya, gazing out at the view with his eyeless face. 

"I just wanted to have a little chat today. Interested?" 

"What do you want to talk about?" 

Midoriya didn't refuse. This was a rare chance to gather intel from the man himself. He figured it wouldn't hurt to hear what All For One had to say. 

"How should I put this…" 

All For One tapped his bare forehead with his fingers before speaking slowly. 

"Midoriya-kun, in some ways, you remind me of my younger brother." 

"…!!?" 

Midoriya's eyes widened in shock. His younger brother…? That meant—! 

"The first wielder of One For All. You could call him that." 

"..." 

Midoriya was at a loss for words. He had no idea how to respond, so he simply stayed quiet and listened as All For One began recounting the past.

In modern times, people call it a "Quirk," but long ago, this kind of extraordinary ability was known as an "Innate Power." 

One by one, newborns across the world awakened their abilities, and soon after, countless problems arose. Some ordinary people feared and rejected those with powers, while some of the gifted formed groups to oppress those without. These differences led to widespread conflicts in society. 

Humans have always had a tendency to exclude what is different. Even differences in skin color and ethnicity have led to division, so when something as extreme as "Innate Powers" appeared, creating an overwhelming gap in strength, the conflict between ordinary people and the superpowered was inevitable. 

Ordinary people, who made up the majority of the population, discriminated against and excluded those with special abilities. Meanwhile, those with extraordinary powers faced unfair treatment, leading many to develop resentment. Over time, groups of ability users formed to resist and take revenge on ordinary people. Conflicts like these were all too common back then. 

The differences between the two sides created deep divisions, and as hatred continued to grow, it seemed like war could break out at any moment. 

Then, a man appeared in Japan—someone with the power to take and give abilities. Because of his actions, conflicts across the country began to settle. He took abilities from those who used them to cause destruction and gave them to oppressed ordinary people. At the same time, he took powers from those who despised their abilities and wished to live peacefully, then granted them to those who sought strength. 

His actions earned him loyal followers willing to give their lives for him. Like a snowball rolling downhill, his influence grew, and the chaos that had once threatened to start a war came to an end. But soon after, Japan fell under the dictatorship of this man who held absolute power. 

The chaos in society was never truly resolved. The once-oppressed weak became the new oppressors. Those who had willingly given up their abilities for a peaceful life now suffered more than ever. And the man who had caused it all… simply watched with indifference. Because this was exactly the result he had wanted. 

Only those who swore loyalty to him were given power. Only those who served him could rise to the top. The rest—those who struggled in suffering—became nothing more than stepping stones for his rule. 

But no matter how dark the world became, there would always be those who believed in justice. There would always be people who, when faced with suffering and despair, would stand up and fight. 

In that era, heroes emerged, willing to risk their lives to resist the tyrant's cruel rule. 

Perhaps fate has a twisted sense of humor, because the man who ruled over everything had only one remaining family member—his younger brother. And that brother was also someone who believed in justice. 

Together with the heroes, the younger brother stood against his tyrant of a sibling. But the outcome was tragic. 

The man's power, both in terms of influence and sheer strength, was far beyond what the heroes had imagined. In the end, their rebellion failed, and every hero was slaughtered. 

And then, the man stood before his younger brother. 

"Why did you oppose me? You are my brother—my only family. Why would you turn against me?" 

"Everyone is suffering. What you're doing is wrong!" 

"Wrong? The only real mistake is being weak. Just like you, my poor little brother." 

The man lifted his frail younger brother with ease, placing his right hand on his head—his final "gift" as an older brother. 

"S-Stop… stop it!" 

"If you truly believe I'm wrong, then stop me with your own power. Don't make me watch your foolishness any longer." 

That man… was All For One. 

And his younger brother was the first wielder of One For All—the spark that started the legacy passed down like a sacred flame, all for the sake of one day defeating his older brother.

Finishing his story, All For One tapped his head and added, 

"You're quite similar to him. That fool rebelled against his own brother for the sake of others. And you… you abandoned everything for the sake of others." 

"You really doted on your little brother, huh?" 

Midoriya Izuku, after listening to All For One's story, didn't say much. He just slowly spoke those words, as if sensing the emotions behind them. 

"Yeah..." 

All For One let out a sigh, as if recalling distant memories. 

"That kid was always weak and sickly. He loved reading stories about demon lords and heroes, dreaming that one day, he too could become a hero who defeated evil. He was such a hopeless dreamer." 

"Maybe it's just because I'm getting old… I must be getting sentimental. I hope I haven't wasted too much of your time, Midoriya-kun." 

"I don't have time for this… Just tell me what you really want to say." 

All For One wouldn't call him here just to tell a story. Midoriya Izuku asked the man in front of him directly—what was his real goal? 

"The foolish hero failed to defeat the Demon King, but his 'sword' was passed down from generation to generation. Then, the eighth hero finally appeared and brought down the Demon King who ruled the world." 

"But the Demon King didn't die, and the hero lost his power to fight. So, he passed the 'sword' to the ninth hero… But this story isn't over yet." 

"Inherit my Quirk, *All For One,* and become the new Demon King!"
