Chapter 588-Dave's dominance
The massive golem stood tall above Dave, its giant form casting a shadow that seemed to stretch forever.
The glowing blade it carried buzzed with dangerous power, and every move it made shook the ground beneath them.
The runes etched into its stone body glowed eerily, making it look almost like something from another world.
From afar, the dwarf watched with his arms crossed, a grin spreading across his face as he admired the strength of his creation.
But Dave wasn't worried. He laughed loudly, the sound echoing through the forest as he easily dodged the golem's powerful swings.
"Is this supposed to be a challenge? This is just a warm-up!" he taunted, dodging the golem's deadly blows with ease.
The golem swung its enormous sword down, trying to split Dave in half with one massive strike.
But Dave wasn't bothered at all. At the last second, he spun to the side, narrowly avoiding the blade.
The ground where the sword struck exploded, sending dirt and rocks flying.
Using the force of the golem's swing, Dave jumped up and landed on the golem's outstretched arm, running toward its shoulder.
"Let's see what you're made of!"
Dave shouted, his golden fist glowing as he punched the golem's tough, stone armor.
Bang!
The hit rang out like thunder, but the armor barely even cracked.
"Not bad," Dave said, shaking his hand, unfazed. "But let's see how long you can keep this up."
The golem, clearly irritated by Dave's antics, swung its arm violently to knock him off.
But Dave had already predicted this move. He jumped high into the air, landing on the golem's head.
He punched it with all his strength, but the head's armor didn't budge.
The runes on the golem glowed brighter, almost mocking Dave's efforts.
The dwarf laughed from a distance, clearly enjoying the show. "You're wasting your energy, boy. This golem is my masterpiece. You can't break it with just strength!"
Dave ignored the dwarf's taunts, focusing entirely on the golem.
He darted to the side just as the golem unleashed a burst of energy from its glowing core.
The shockwave sent Dave flying back a few steps, but he wasn't about to back down.
As soon as the blast faded, the golem's massive blade came crashing down again, aiming right for Dave's head.
This time, Dave didn't dodge. He ducked under the blade, letting it narrowly miss his back.
"Alright, big guy,"
Dave said, brushing himself off and eyeing the golem.
"You're tougher than you look. I'll give you that."
The golem roared, its runes glowing even brighter as it raised both fists above its head.
With a single, earth-shaking slam, it brought its fists down into the ground, causing the ground to crack and tremble beneath them.
The impact sent Dave flying backward, but he landed smoothly on his feet, his golden aura flashing as he regained his balance.
"This is getting fun now,"
Dave said, cracking his knuckles. He eyed the golem, now more determined than ever.
"I think you're starting to take me seriously."
With a burst of speed, Dave charged forward, too fast for the golem to follow.
He ducked under the massive sword again, and before the golem could react, he punched its knee.
The blow left a small crack in the armor, and the golem staggered, briefly losing its balance.
The dwarf's grin faded as he watched the golem wobble.
"Looks like you're not as unbreakable as you thought," Dave said, his grin growing wider.
He knew he had found a weak spot.
The golem quickly recovered and raised its sword for another strike.
But Dave wasn't waiting around. He dashed forward and grabbed the sword mid-swing, stopping it just inches from his face.
The ground cracked under the pressure, but Dave held firm, his golden aura glowing around him.
"Not bad," Dave said, his voice calm yet filled with excitement. "But I'm done playing."
With a loud shout, Dave shoved the golem's sword aside, creating a massive crack in the ground beneath them.
He followed up with a powerful punch to the golem's chest and this time, the armor cracked.
The glowing runes flickered, struggling to keep up with the damage.
The dwarf's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Impossible… That's the hardest material known to man! No one can break it!"
Dave smirked, his fists blazing with golden energy. "Guess I'm no one, then."
The golem swung its sword again, but this time, Dave didn't try to dodge.
He punched the sword head-on with all his strength, and with a burst of energy, he shattered the blade into pieces.
The golem stumbled, thrown off-balance by the destruction of its weapon.
Before it could react, Dave leaped into the air and pummeled its chest again.
Each punch caused the cracks in its armor to grow, the metal groaning and screeching under the pressure.
"You're tough," Dave said, laughing as he delivered another blow.
"But not tough enough!"
With one final, earth-shaking punch, Dave sent the golem crashing to the ground.
Its massive body hit the earth with a deafening crash, sending shockwaves through the forest.
Trees shook, and the ground trembled as the golem's broken pieces flew everywhere.
The dwarf stood frozen, staring at the shattered golem, his mouth open in shock. "Unbelievable…" he murmured. "That golem was supposed to be indestructible…"
Dave turned to the dwarf, a smug grin on his face. "Guess it wasn't as unbreakable as you thought."
The dwarf's face turned bright red with anger.
His fists clenched, but before he could speak, something unexpected happened.
A dark, oppressive presence appeared behind him.
It was Dave.
The dwarf's eyes widened as he realized that the figure in front of him was just an illusion.
The real Dave stood behind him, his sword—Extinguisher—glowing with chaotic energy.
The dark aura surrounding the sword pressed down on the very air itself.
"You know,"
Dave said coolly, his voice full of mockery, "For someone so proud of their creations, you really should have been paying attention to the real threat."
The dwarf tried to turn around, but it was too late. Dave moved with lightning speed, and in one smooth motion, he drove Extinguisher through the dwarf's chest.
The chaotic energy surged, spreading like cracks in glass as it tore through the dwarf's body.
"You let your height down," Dave said, his voice dripping with mockery.
The dwarf's eyes widened in terror as his body began to disintegrate, consumed by the chaotic energy from the sword.
Slowly, he was reduced to nothing, his form disappearing into the air.
Dave watched coldly as the dwarf vanished, then pulled Extinguisher from the air.
The sword's glow dimmed, and the forest fell silent once again.
Dave glanced at the shattered remains of the golem and the ashes of the dwarf, a smirk creeping across his face.
"Not bad," he said, sheathing the sword.
The forest remained quiet, save for the faint hum of the fading runes.
Dave stretched, letting his golden aura fade, and walked away from the wreckage, his smile growing wider as he surveyed the battlefield.
"Alright," he muttered, cracking his knuckles. "Who's next?"
