Chapter 186: Taking All The Relics...
'Kranos, how could you have been so stupid to trust someone from the Black Rain Pavilion?'
Kathryn's voice was truly annoyed. She couldn't let this happen. After all, if the soul treasure was taken away, how could she cast the seals into Krranos' soul and make him her puppet? The thought alone made her furious.
Kranos just sneered internally, hearing Kathryn's words.
'Kathryn, in my previous life I let you have your way, but do you think the same thing will play out in this life?'
But he also thought for a moment, quickly coming up with a reply for her.
"I didn't know what to think. At that time, when she told me about how terrifying her master was, I had no choice but to hand the relic over to her or endanger my life."
Hearing Krranos' words and the slight fear in his tone, Kathryn was furious.
Ultimately, she blamed herself for everything that had happened.
If she had paid more attention to Krranos and the others, especially the soul treasure, none of this would have happened. She felt a deep sense of regret mixed with her rage.
'In that case, I can definitely not let her leave this battlefield,' Kathryn silently plotted in her heart. 'After everything is over, I will use my divine illusion eyes and eliminate her, then take the soul treasure and make Krranos my puppet.'
She glanced at everyone through the corner of her eyes and sneered. In the end, they were all her chess pieces. Not one of them would ever be able to escape their fate as a chess piece. She felt a profound sense of superiority, watching them all from her vantage point.
Kranos had also guessed everything going on in Kathryn's mind. He saw the cold calculation in her eyes and the subtle smile on her lips.
But it was also part of his plan. Using this, he had made Kathryn harbor a killing intent towards Aurora.
Now, it was almost certain that the two would battle each other and he would just silently watch from the side. It was the perfect scenario.
It would be perfect if they both injured each other until they were half dead, and then he could kill them all, getting his complete revenge. He pictured the scene in his mind, the satisfaction of their downfall.
There was also the fact that Kathryn or Aurora could have a certain trump card.
This was the reason Krranos had a backup plan: the Scarlet Moon organization. He couldn't risk everything on a single outcome.
One shouldn't forget this terrifying organization that had a ninety-nine percent chance of killing Kathryn. After their battle, they should be able to eliminate her.
Kranos felt he just had to carefully play his chess game and watch the pieces fall into place. He was in complete control.
There was no need to be worried about anything. As long as he was cautious and prudent enough, he would emerge victorious. His confidence was unshakeable.
"Don't worry too much about it," Kathryn's voice resounded once again. "I should probably find a way to talk to her and get the relic from her. Aren't you worried about your imminent death due to the cracks within your soul?"
Hearing her words, Krranos was unfazed.
When he regressed to roughly two months back, he had already checked his soul, then he realized that it was back to normal.
Now, with the state of his soul, he could regress to twelve hours into the past. However, if he tried that, his soul would return back to the state it had been, being completely injured.
Krranos couldn't endanger his life like that. Hence, the reason he wanted to get the relic and have an assurance of returning to at least a month into the past.
Kranos was an extremely cautious person.
If he regressed twelve hours into the past, it wouldn't be able to change anything. If he died at Kathryn's hands once again, his fate was sealed. He had to be smarter than that.
Even with the twelve-hour regression time, he wouldn't be able to change his fate.
Only by going back at least a month into the past, leaving Kathryn entirely, could he save his life. It was the only way to ensure his survival and success.
All these thoughts passed through Krranos' mind in the blink of an eye. He was already planning his next moves.
Restraining his thoughts, he sighed and then replied.
"It's nice to be hopeful. We have a little bit more time. Maybe we can find something to heal me."
Hearing his faint reply, Kathryn was annoyed once more. Something about Krranos' behavior felt different, but she couldn't place her hand on it.
Krranos was vastly different from her timeline before regression, but she just attributed it to the fact that he was still a teenager of just sixteen years of age. She dismissed her suspicions as she focused on her own plans.
At that, she sighed and didn't bother with Krranos anymore.
Everyone fell silent.
The second relic appeared, but they just remained inside the special space, recovering their mana. They had to be at full strength for the final battle.
They had three relics now and all they needed were two more for Aurora and Kevin.
Kathryn calculated silently in her heart. Only four relics had appeared now. In essence, four more were remaining to appear.
It seemed they would have to take the time to recover their essence and then take the last two relics.
Time passed slowly.
Kranos silently went to a corner of the hidden space, away from the eyes of Kathryn and the others. He needed a moment alone to set his plan in motion.
They didn't think too much about it and just thought he wanted to cultivate somewhere away from them. They were completely unaware of his true intentions.
But the moment Krranos reached there, he silently took out the communication device and contacted the Scarlet Moon organization.
They had already been getting impatient, and Krranos had to reassure them of his plans.
Picking up the device, he silently spoke into it.
"I want Desmond to take the next relic. As for the others, just leave them be. Later on, there will be a way for you all to enter the inheritance ground. Just be patient and trust me."
"No one wants to kill Kathryn as badly as I do. When we step into the inheritance ground, we will wipe her out."
The reason Krranos sent this information was to make sure nothing seemed suspicious to Kathryn.
He faintly guessed that in Kathryn's timeline, Desmond must have taken a treasure, which was why she wasn't surprised by it before.
By letting Desmond have a treasure as well, he was making sure things seemed exactly as they were on the surface. He was an expert at manipulation.
After he finished speaking, Krranos silently closed the communicator.
Time flow returned to normal in his surroundings.
Kranos couldn't be that careless.
The moment he picked up the communicator, he paused time within one meter from him. That way, no one would be able to get close to him or know what he was doing. He was a master of his domain.
The Scarlet Moon organization received the message, and the mysterious figure fell into deep thought.
After that, he gave the order, and three God Realm cultivators vanished alongside Desmond.
Appearing silently on the battlefield where they were fighting, the God Realm cultivators moved.
From where they stood, darkness began spreading out towards the surroundings.
Seeing this, everyone was stunned.
Not many people had heard of the Scarlet Moon organization, after all, they were from different immortal worlds.
But everyone could at a glance recognize the darkness element. It was a terrifying power to behold.
Staring in shock, they began retreating. Those who were caught in the range of the darkness domain felt a deep terror as their bodies began being corroded by the darkness energy.
Before they could realize what was going on, they had turned into a puddle of blackish liquid. It was a gruesome sight that sent a wave of fear through the crowd.
A chill swept throughout the surroundings, and the air suddenly seemed colder. The atmosphere was thick with dread.
No one moved and just watched as the three God Realm experts calmly walked towards the relic, which looked slightly like a triangular object, and picked it up.
They couldn't do anything or fight back.
In fact, they didn't dare to. After all, the darkness element was one of the most terrifying elements in existence.
Its rarity was not in the least bit inferior to space, sound, soul, shadow, summoning, and the like. It was a legendary power.
After taking the relic, the Scarlet Moon organization didn't linger. They had completed their mission.
This was the fifth relic.
With that, the whole scene came to a closure.
Then, the surroundings stirred. The sixth relic had appeared.
The moment it did, everyone snapped their gazes in the direction of the Scarlet Moon organization.
If they decided to take this relic as well, there was no way the others would be able to contend.
