Chapter 141: Caught Stealing and Eating Alone!
Angie took out another Poké Ball and tried to capture the Infernape, but he failed.
The fact that it couldn't be captured in a Poké Ball meant that this Infernape had an owner!
Left with no choice, Angie took off his jacket and wrapped the Infernape in it before lifting it up in his arms.
Before rushing to the Pokémon Center, Angie called the fire department to report the fire at the amusement park, but they told him that there were fires breaking out all over the city.
Reluctantly, he decided to take the Infernape to the Pokémon Center first, as the fire in the amusement park had already been put out.
As Angie and Diancie rushed toward the Pokémon Center with the Infernape, they saw the lights of Azoth Kingdom flashing in the distance, with the sounds of police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances filling the air.
Could this all be the work of the Infernape? Angie couldn't help but glance at the unconscious Infernape in his arms.
Wait a minute! If it was just a fire, why were the police cars involved?
Unable to figure it out, Angie decided to put it out of his mind for now.
What Angie didn't know was that because of the Infernape, the "facility" had been fully exposed, and someone had immediately called the police.
The police in Azoth Kingdom were very efficient, and soon the entire arena was surrounded by officers.
The people inside the arena, wanting to avoid capture, fought desperately against the police.
After hearing the news, Princess Kimia immediately brought her people to the scene.
The criminals thought that if they took the princess as a hostage, they could escape safely. What they didn't know was that the princess was also a powerful trainer. She commanded an Alolan Ninetales and a Shiny Gardevoir, easily defeating the criminals in no time.
Soon, all the criminals were captured.
Of course, the reason the princess was able to capture the criminals so easily was largely due to the earlier chaos caused by the Infernape. Most of the powerful trainers inside the arena had been injured by it.
When Angie and Diancie arrived at the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy immediately came over, her eyes widening in shock as she looked at the Infernape in Angie's arms.
"Is... this the Infernape that caused all the havoc in the city?" she asked.
The scene of the Infernape causing chaos had already been captured and spread across the internet.
Angie replied, "I'm not sure. I encountered it in the amusement park. It set the park on fire, and Diancie defeated it, which is why it's unconscious now."
Nurse Joy said, "Let's treat it first!"
Angie nodded and placed the Infernape onto the cart that Chansey had pushed over.
Watching Nurse Joy and Chansey take the Infernape into the emergency room, Angie and Diancie both sighed in relief.
"Let's sit over there and wait," Angie said to Diancie.
Diancie nodded. "Okay."
The two of them walked over to a table in the lobby of the Pokémon Center and sat down.
However, as soon as they sat down, Diancie's stomach growled loudly.
Angie smiled and asked, "Are you hungry?"
Diancie bashfully nodded.
Creating the Sacred Diamond had been very exhausting, and they hadn't had dinner yet, so it was no surprise that Diancie was hungry.
Suddenly, Angie had an idea. He stood up and said to Diancie, "Wait here."
With that, Angie ran off.
After waiting for a while, Diancie finally saw Angie return, carrying two large bowls of ramen. When Angie placed the bowls in front of her, she realized they were two big bowls of ramen.
The ramen was served with fresh, green vegetables, and topped with two perfectly shaped century eggs. The sight alone made it look very appetizing.
Angie sat back down across from Diancie and grinned. "I made this using the Pokémon Center's kitchen. Let's make do with it."
He had only used the Pokémon Center's stove; the rest of the pots, bowls, ingredients, and seasonings all came from his own system backpack.
The steaming ramen released a savory aroma, which floated up and tickled Diancie's nose, making her instinctively swallow.
Across from her, Angie was already slurping away. Seeing this, Diancie picked up her chopsticks and started eating too. Both trainer and Pokémon were eating a little too hastily, almost as if they were devouring a feast.
In no time, they had finished their bowls of ramen, Angie still feeling unsatisfied, even drinking up the broth.
"That was really good!" Angie wiped his mouth and said.
Diancie, ever so graceful, wiped her mouth with a napkin. Once done, she put it down and said, "Delicious."
Suddenly, Angie had an idea. "What do you think about opening a ramen shop?"
"A ramen shop?" Diancie asked, puzzled.
Angie excitedly replied, "Yeah! We can set it up at the Munchlax's Home. In the mornings, we sell breakfast, and in the afternoons to evenings, we serve ramen."
Right now, the four of them—Angie, Diancie, Munchlax, and Gengar—had their roles. Munchlax was in charge of Diancie's Grand Dining Hall, while Angie and Drizzile handled breakfast at the Munchlax's Home. Gengar was mostly idle, either helping out at Diancie's Grand Dining Hall or assisting at the Munchlax's Home, but overall, it had little to do.
If this continued, wouldn't it be a waste of all the cooking skills Gengar had learned?
So, Angie thought, why not hand over the evening and nighttime hours of the Munchlax's Home to Gengar to run the ramen shop?
The more he thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. He shared the plan with Diancie.
After listening, Diancie nodded. "I think it's a great idea."
Angie beamed. "Once we get home, we can talk it over with Gengar."
Just then, Angie's phone rang. He pulled it out to see that it was a video call from Munchlax. He suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to call home to check in.
Angie answered the call, and Munchlax's image appeared before him.
"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"
Master, Where are you? Why haven't you come back yet?
Munchlax's face filled the screen, looking anxious.
Angie quickly responded, "I got held up by something. I forgot to call you. Diancie and I are fine, so don't worry."
As soon as Munchlax heard this, its expression relaxed.
"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"
Where are you? When are you coming back? I'm waiting for you to train together!
Angie checked the time and shook his head helplessly. "I don't know. If it gets too late, just go ahead and train by yourself. Afterward, go to sleep."
Munchlax shook its head.
"Munchlax~"
I'll wait for you, Master.
It said before hanging up abruptly.
Angie sighed in resignation.
Diancie, seeing this, couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh. "Looks like your little apprentice isn't listening!"
Angie immediately retorted, "No way! Munchlax is the most obedient one!"
As soon as Angie finished his call with Munchlax, his phone rang again. This time, it was Kimia.
He answered, and Kimia's voice came through.
"Your Highness, is that Infernape with you?" she asked.
"How did you know?" Angie asked in surprise.
"Someone captured footage of Diancie fighting Infernape at the amusement park, and there are also photos of you carrying Infernape in the streets," Kimia explained.
Angie: ...
"What happened?" Angie asked in confusion. "Why was Infernape causing such a ruckus in the kingdom, setting fires everywhere?"
"Here's the thing..." Kimia had already investigated the matter and explained everything to Angie.
After hearing the full story, Angie angrily slammed his fist on the table. "These people... how despicable!"
Kimia replied, "Don't worry, Your Highness. Those responsible will face the consequences. But I need to ask you a favor."
Angie: "Go ahead."
Kimia said, "I would like to ask you to temporarily take care of Infernape. Once I've sorted things out, I'll come to retrieve it."
Although the people from the Beast Arena had been captured, their associates, including the one who had delivered Infernape to the arena, were still at large.
Without hesitation, Angie nodded. "Don't worry, leave Infernape to me. I'll take good care of it."
"Thank you, Your Highness."
After hanging up the phone and thinking about the encounter with the Infernape, Angie sighed deeply.
"What's wrong?" Diancie asked.
Angie then told Diancie about the situation with the Infernape, and the two of them sighed together.
Nurse Joy and Chansey were busy for nearly two hours before they came out. Angie quickly went up to ask, "Nurse Joy, how is the Infernape?"
Nurse Joy sighed and replied, "Its injuries are severe; it will need some time to recover. Fortunately, it's not life-threatening."
Angie sighed in relief. "As long as it's not life-threatening, the wounds will heal eventually."
Nurse Joy asked, "Your Highness, how do you plan to care for the Infernape? Should it stay here at the Pokémon Center, or would you prefer to take it with you?"
Angie responded, "I'll take it with me. If it wakes up and goes wild, you won't be able to control it here."
Nurse Joy agreed and nodded. "I'll prepare some medicine. Take it back with you, and make sure it takes the medicine regularly. After it's finished, the injuries should be mostly healed. If there are any problems, you can always call me, or bring the Infernape back here."
Angie nodded. "Okay."
After hearing the instructions on how to care for the Infernape's injuries, Angie and Diancie returned home to the Nebel Plateau with the still unconscious Infernape.
When they arrived, they saw that Munchlax, Drizzile, Gengar, Komala, Pawmi, Magearna, Metagross, and Volcanion were all sprawled on the couch, sleeping.
Pawmi was lying in a very relaxed position, with a bubble coming out of its nose, still holding its phone.
Angie and Diancie exchanged glances and silently laughed.
After putting the Infernape in the guest room, Angie and Diancie returned to the living room and took Munchlax, Drizzile, and Komala back to their rooms.
But when Angie picked up Gengar, Gengar groggily opened its eyes. When it realized Angie had returned, its face lit up with excitement.
Angie quickly made a "quiet" gesture.
Gengar immediately covered its mouth and copied Angie's gesture, grinning while putting its finger to its lips and squinting its eyes at Angie with a smile.
With Gengar's help, Angie also sent Pawmi, Metagross, Magearna, and Volcanion to their rooms.
Once Gengar woke up, it couldn't fall back asleep. It stayed in the living room with Angie and Diancie, chatting for a while. As all three of them and their Pokémon got hungry again, Angie suggested, "How about some late-night snacks?"
The ramen they had for dinner was too easy to digest, and by now, his stomach was completely empty.
This suggestion received unanimous agreement from Gengar and Diancie.
Diancie covered her mouth and chuckled. "Is it okay if we have a meal just for ourselves?"
"Gengar~ Gengar~"
Gengar couldn't help but laugh along with Diancie.
"Well, they're all asleep, aren't they?" Angie winked.
Soon, the three of them headed downstairs. Diancie and Gengar waited outside while Angie entered the kitchen to get busy.
Before long, the sounds of chopping vegetables and the rich aroma of food filled the kitchen.
For the late-night snacks, Angie wanted hot pot. He still had leftover hot pot base from earlier, so he just needed to boil it and chop up some vegetables.
"Everything's ready, come in and help me bring out the dishes!" Angie called from the kitchen.
Diancie and Gengar hurriedly entered, bringing out plate after plate of chopped ingredients: little greens, tofu, kelp strips, bean sprouts, lotus root slices, potato slices, beef rolls, pork rolls, and more.
The bean sprouts were ones Angie had grown himself using Plump Beans.
The lotus root slices were from a pond next to the vegetable garden, and they were already edible and delicious. The wild lotus from the Nebel Plateau couldn't compare to them.
Once everything was ready, the three of them gathered around a table to eat.
Angie picked up a piece of cooked tofu and popped it into his mouth, exclaiming, "Delicious!"
The tofu was also made by Angie using his own homegrown Plump Beans, and it tasted countless times better than the tofu made from beans bought outside.
Thanks to his farming skills and the dual effects of the Grassy Terrain, the first batch of Plump Beans that Angie planted had already fully matured, and now he was planting the second batch.
Just as Angie and the Pokémon were enjoying their meal, Pawmi with eyes closed and sniffing the air, climbed down the stairs while feeling the railing.
Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs and smelling the rich aroma in the air, it instantly snapped out of its daze. When it saw what Angie and the others were doing, it widened its eyes in disbelief.
"Pawmi~ Pawmi~"
You're stealing food!
After saying this, it swiftly climbed onto a chair, staring at the table full of dishes and the delicious hot pot, its mouth watering.
Angie quickly grabbed some bowls and chopsticks and placed them in front of Pawmi. "Come eat with us, but you're not allowed to report us tomorrow."
"Pawmi~ Pawmi~"
I've been asleep since early evening, I didn't see anything!
Pawmi spoke seriously, then grabbed its chopsticks and began placing its favorite ingredients into the pot. It loved meat, so beef, pork, fish... everything was thrown into the pot.
After finishing the meal, Angie and the Pokémon sat outside for a while. Then, Angie thought about the idea of opening a ramen shop, so he said to Gengar.
"Gengar, you've been learning cooking from me for a while now. Have you thought about what you want to do in the future?"
"Gengar?"
Hearing this, Gengar looked confused and gently shook its head.
Angie continued, "I have an idea now. Let me know what you think."
"Gengar~"
Gengar nodded its head.
"Don't we only work in Munchlax's Home in the morning? In the afternoon and evening, Munchlax is free, so I was thinking, how about you start running a ramen shop in Munchlax's Home starting in the evening?"
Gengar didn't expect Angie to entrust such an important task to it. First, its eyes widened in disbelief, then it excitedly picked Angie up and flew around in the air, spinning Angie around.
"Gengar~ Gengar~~"
Its joyful laughter echoed in the night sky.
Angie didn't expect Gengar to be this happy. He let Gengar hold him for a while, but soon became dizzy from all the spinning, so he had to say, "Gengar, if you keep spinning me around like this, I'm going to get dizzy."
Only then did Gengar gently put Angie down, then awkwardly scratched the back of its head.
"Are you really that happy?" Angie asked.
"Gengar~~"
Gengar nodded, blushing.
Angie smiled and patted its round belly. "Well, you'd better practice your cooking skills during this time. If your cooking isn't up to par, the customers won't buy it."
"Gengar~"
Gengar clenched its fist, determined to not let Angie down.
"Pawmi~ Pawmi~"
At this moment, Pawmi also excitedly began spinning around Gengar.
Angie rolled his eyes. "Why are you so happy that Gengar's opening a ramen shop?"
"Pawmi~ Pawmi~"
Because I'll get to eat ramen every day from now on!
Pawmi said seriously, hands on its hips.
"You!" Angie grabbed Pawmi and pulled it into his arms, rubbing it vigorously.
"Pawmi~ Pawmi~"
Pawmi couldn't stop laughing as Angie tickled it.
