Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 140: The Flames of Fury and the Stone of Protection

The man in black took out a Poké Ball, and from it emerged a Hariyama. The Hariyama grabbed a handle attached to Infernape's cage and dragged it out of the holding room.

Before long, Infernape was bound with iron chains to a cross-shaped frame. The man in black held a leather whip in his hand, lashing it relentlessly at Infernape.

"Who told you to act tough? Who told you to act tough?"

"Infernape~!"

No matter how many times the man in black whipped Infernape, it showed no sign of yielding. Its growls echoed with rage and defiance, expressing its hatred for the man.

"Very good! Very good! You're a tough one. Let's see how long your stubbornness lasts." Throwing the whip aside, the man in black pulled out a remote control from an unknown place.

Grinning maliciously, he pressed a golden button. In the next moment, a powerful electric current surged from the cross behind Infernape, coursing through its entire body.

"Infernape~!"

Infernape let out a piercing scream, its voice reverberating throughout the room.

"Hahaha!"

Watching Infernape suffer, the man in black laughed heartily. "Go on, glare at me again! Try it! See what happens!"

Through the searing pain, Infernape managed to lower its head and glare at him, its gaze filled with unrelenting hatred and the force of its indomitable will. The intensity in its eyes made the man stumble backward in fright.

Realizing he had been intimidated, the man in black's face flushed with rage. Embarrassed and furious, he sneered, "Fine, fine! Let's see how long you can hold out."

He pressed the blue button on the remote control. The floor beneath Infernape cracked open, revealing a pool of water.

"Think you're tough? Cool off in the water, then!" the man jeered cruelly.

As he spoke, the cross holding Infernape began to lower gradually, submerging the Pokémon into the water until it was entirely submerged.

For a Fire-type Pokémon, this was a torment unlike any other.

After soaking for over ten minutes, Infernape was slowly raised back above the water. Its head hung low, the flames on its head extinguished, and water dripped relentlessly from its drenched fur.

Seeing Infernape in such a pitiful state, the man in black burst into laughter again. He approached it and slapped its face mockingly.

"Why so quiet now? Weren't you roaring just a while ago? What's wrong, huh? If it weren't for our client, I'd have finished you off by now. Damn beast."

Suddenly, Infernape raised its head abruptly, its eyes burning with unyielding flames. It opened its mouth and lunged at the man in black, attempting to bite him. Unfortunately, the man was prepared and dodged in time.

"You still dare to attack me? Let's see how you like this punishment."

He pressed the button again, causing the cross to lower once more, fully submerging Infernape in the water.

Time ticked by, second after second. The man in black, consumed by the thrill of tormenting Infernape, let it soak for an entire fifteen minutes this time.

Feeling satisfied, he whistled cheerfully and prepared to pull Infernape out again.

However, just as he was about to act, the water in the pool began to bubble violently. A deep crimson hue churned and swirled at the bottom.

"What the hell?" the man in black muttered, startled.

As he approached to investigate, the water suddenly exploded. Flames and steam burst into the air, and Infernape leapt out of the pool with eyes blazing red, its body engulfed in an intense, fiery aura.

"N-No! Stay back!"

The man in black instinctively retreated, hurriedly grabbing a Poké Ball to release Hariyama.

"Hariyama, g-grab it for me!"

Metagross darted forward, raising its fists to attack Infernape.

"Infernape~!"

With another roar, the rage in Infernape's voice made the man in black tremble. The flames around Infernape's body burned even more fiercely, growing wilder with each passing moment.

The next instant, a massive pillar of fire erupted from its body, engulfing Hariyama in an instant and narrowly missing the man in black's cheek as it surged past.

When the flames subsided, Hariyama lay motionless on the ground. The man in black collapsed in terror, falling back as a spreading wet stain formed beneath him.

He stared in horror as Infernape advanced step by step, trembling with fear as he scrambled backward, muttering desperately:

"Don't come closer! Stay away!"

"Infernape~!"

Infernape leapt high into the air, raising its fist before slamming it down with unrelenting fury.

Bang!

With a deafening crash, the man in black was slammed to the ground. Infernape's fist smashed into his face, fracturing the floor beneath his head with visible cracks.

The man's face visibly deformed from the impact.

"Infernape~ Infernape~~!"

Yet Infernape showed no signs of stopping. Blow after blow rained down on the man, shattering his ribs, arms, and legs one by one. His screams echoed through the empty room.

Hearing the commotion, others in the training grounds rushed over. Upon seeing the man's mangled state, they froze in shock. Hastily, they released their Pokémon from their Poké Balls, intent on subduing Infernape.

By now, however, Infernape had completely lost its reason. It tore through the approaching Pokémon like a raging storm, its fiery punches toppling every opponent in its path. Its overwhelming power struck terror into everyone who saw it.

The destruction was beyond their imagination. Within moments, the scene turned to chaos.

After defeating every Pokémon sent against it, Infernape turned its fury on the trainers, leaving all of them injured before escaping the room.

It rampaged through the training grounds, leaving a trail of blazing fire in its wake. Every person who tried to intercept it was swiftly defeated. Within moments, the entire facility was ablaze.

In one corner of the Azoth Kingdom, an explosion erupted. A fiery figure emerged from the inferno, soaring skyward with flames spiraling around it. The crimson fire spread like a storm, painting the dark night sky a vivid red.

Leaping onto the rooftop of a nearby building, Infernape sprinted and bounded across the rooftops, covering half of Azoth Kingdom in mere moments.

Its rampage caused massive chaos throughout the city. Wherever it passed, flames erupted, setting houses and streets ablaze. Screams filled the night, mingling with the wails of police sirens and fire engines rushing to contain the havoc.

Angie and Diancie had just stepped off the Ferris wheel, ready to head home. After walking a few steps, Angie noticed the lighthearted smile on Diancie's face and asked.

"Did you have fun today?"

Diancie nodded. "Yes, I did."

Angie patted its head and smiled, "Then my efforts weren't in vain."

Suddenly, Diancie stopped in her tracks and held out the diamond in her hands to Angie.

"Angie, this is for you."

Angie was momentarily stunned by the large, brilliant diamond before him. Taking it with a smile, he asked, "A gift to thank me?"

Diancie nodded cheerfully. "That's right! Although it won't last long."

Angie carefully placed the diamond into the pocket over his chest and gently patted it. "Then I'll treasure it until it disappears."

"You promised!" Diancie beamed brightly.

As she lifted her gaze, Diancie suddenly noticed a flicker of firelight at the very top of the Ferris wheel and asked curiously, "What's that?"

Angie squinted at the distant light but couldn't make it out due to the distance. Shaking his head, he replied, "Not sure, maybe a light?"

The next moment, however, the flicker of firelight descended rapidly, trailing a fiery tail behind it.

Boom!!!

A deafening explosion shattered the stillness of the night. The ground cracked, and countless embers scattered in all directions as a fierce and enraged Infernape landed in front of Angie and Diancie.

"Infernape~~!"

Infernape let out a thunderous roar, the flames atop its head erupting like a firework, igniting everything in its vicinity—flowers, trees, and even nearby buildings.

Although the amusement park wasn't very crowded at night, there were still people around. Screams filled the air as panicked visitors scrambled to escape.

Diancie quickly stepped in front of Angie, erecting a Light Screen to block all the flames.

Angie was stunned by the sudden turn of events. Where had this Infernape come from?

Before he could dwell on the question, the enraged Infernape leapt high into the air, vaulting over both Angie and Diancie. In the blink of an eye, it landed beside Angie and swung its flame-wreathed fist directly at him.

Reacting swiftly, Angie dove to the ground, narrowly evading the attack. As Infernape prepared to pursue him, Diancie intercepted it, raising another Reflect wall.

"Infernape~~!"

Infernape roared furiously, pounding its fists against the Reflect barrier repeatedly.

Crack!

The barrier began to fracture. With a shattering sound, it crumbled into shards, and Diancie was sent flying by a single punch from the ferocious Infernape.

"Diancie!" Angie shouted.

But before he could rush to her aid, Infernape turned its wrath toward him again, its fist hurtling straight at him. With little thought, Angie instinctively raised his own fist to meet it.

Boom!!!

The clash of fists produced a shockwave that rippled through the air.

In that moment of collision, Angie channeled his entire body's aura into his fist. Through the aura, he could clearly sense Infernape's overwhelming anger and bitterness.

What had happened? Why was Infernape so enraged?

These thoughts flickered through his mind in an instant. But in terms of sheer strength, Angie was no match for Infernape. The force of the clash sent him flying backward, crashing heavily into a patch of grass.

Thanks to his robust physique, Angie wasn't seriously hurt.

Unrelenting, Infernape closed the distance in the blink of an eye, swinging another fiery fist at Angie. He rolled across the ground, narrowly dodging the attack.

At that moment, a yellow-green beam of light shot over, knocking the enraged Infernape away.

It was Diancie's Power Gem!

"Angie, are you okay?" Diancie quickly approached Angie.

Angie shook his head. "I'm fine. What about you?"

Diancie replied, "I'm fine too."

After speaking, the two simultaneously turned to look at Infernape. Diancie's earlier attack had only fueled Infernape's rage. It got up from the ground, opened its mouth, and unleashed a Flamethrower that swept across the area.

In the blink of an eye, the entire amusement park turned into a sea of fire. Angie and Diancie found themselves surrounded by blazing heatwaves.

From afar, Diancie could even see panicked tourists running desperately to escape the flames.

Glancing at Angie and then at the hellish scene of the amusement park, Diancie's mind echoed with the cries of people and a distant memory of Xerneas' words.

"You are the one who nurtures life."

At that moment, Infernape once again turned its gaze toward Angie, spitting another Flamethrower directly at him.

Seeing the fire growing larger in his vision, Angie was about to shout for Diancie to dodge with him. But then he saw Diancie resolutely step in front of him.

Diancie stretched out both hands, and an immense amount of pink energy gathered before it. To Angie's astonishment, Diancie's entire body began to radiate an intense and dazzling multicolored light.

Unnoticed by Angie, the diamond Diancie had given him earlier, now resting in his chest pocket, also began to emit a radiant glow.

The brilliance from Diancie's transformation completely overshadowed the diamond's glow.

Within the light, Diancie's appearance changed rapidly. The rock on its body disappeared, replaced entirely by diamond. The diamond crown atop its head transformed into a heart shape, with two pink ribbons draping elegantly from it. Its lower body extended into prismatic diamond structures, forming a magnificent gown.

Diancie had Mega Evolved!

Angie was utterly dumbfounded. How had it suddenly Mega Evolved?

Before him, a colossal pink diamond formed in front of Mega Diancie, blocking Infernape's jet of fire.

Angie's gaze was entirely captivated by the pink spectacle. "Is that... the Sacred Diamond?"

Mega Diancie pushed the massive diamond forward, slowly forcing back Infernape's flames until they were completely extinguished.

After the flames dissipated, the enormous diamond also shattered into countless specks of light and vanished. A surge of Fairy-type and Rock-type energy spread outward from Diancie, filling the entire amusement park.

The power contained within the Sacred Diamond was immense!

Covered by Fairy-type and Rock-type energy, the fires caused by Infernape gradually extinguished, and the amusement park was finally saved.

After a flash of light, Diancie reverted from its Mega Evolution, collapsing weakly to the side.

Seeing this, Angie rushed forward and caught Diancie.

"Diancie, are you okay?" he asked worriedly.

Diancie, lying in Angie's arms, shook its head. "I'm fine. Just a bit drained. I just need some rest."

Creating the Sacred Diamond wasn't an easy feat!

Hearing this, Angie sighed in relief.

"By the way, did I really create the Sacred Diamond just now?" Diancie asked excitedly.

"Yes, you did! And not only that, you defeated Infernape and put out the fire in the amusement park. You were amazing!" Angie replied with pride all over his face.

At this point, Infernape had collapsed from exhaustion.

Diancie chuckled a little, then turned to look at Infernape and said, "That Infernape is seriously injured. Let's take it to the Pokémon Center quickly!" It held onto Angie's arm for support as it stood up.

After confirming that Diancie was truly okay, Angie ran over to check on Infernape. When he saw the countless scars and wounds covering its body, he was utterly shocked.

This... What exactly had Infernape been through?

These injuries were far beyond what Angie could handle, so he decided to carry Infernape to the Pokémon Center.

But as soon as he touched Infernape's body, the scorching heat forced him to retract his hand.
