Pokemon Journeys (My Version)

Last time, Mew catches a Cyndaquil and the group continue on to Azalea Town. However, the heatwave is not making it easy for them as they walk down the trail to the next town. Even the Pokemon are burning hot.

Brock groans, "Ugh, look at those plants, every single one of them is shriveled up from the heat."

"So am I," Mew says

Then Tomo says, "I need water or I'm gonna shrivel up too…"

Then Misty has an idea, "Hey, I know. I'll use Staryu." and call out Staryu.

Then Staryu comes out.

"Staryu, cool us off with your Water Gun," Misty says.

Staryu then fires its Water Gun into the sky like a sprinkler, showering the group.

"This feels great!" Misty says.

"That's a good idea," Mew says, and gets out her Pokeball.

She then calls out Squirtle and Wartortle

"Hi guys, we need help cooling off, can you use your Water Gun?" Mew asks.

The Pokemon nod in reply and shoot Water Gun in the air, making showers and cooling everyone down from the heat.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is boiling from the heatwave too.

"I'd give my right arm for a drink right now," Jessie says, tired.

James feels the same, "Yes, I'd give your left arm as well."

They soon hear something and turn to see Meowth guzzling down a canteen of water.

James cries out with glee, "Ah! I forgot we had water!"

"Meowth, we'll take our share now!" Jessie says.

"Okay," Meowth says.

When they try to get a drink, it's revealed to be empty.

Jessie cries out in shock, "What?! The water's all gone! Meowth drank the canteen dry!"

"Hey! We were all supposed to get our fair share!" James angrily says.

But Meowth says, "I know, but my share was on the bottom."

Jessie and James glare at Meowth angrily, making the Cat Pokemon nervous.

Then Meowth notices something, "Look! Dere's a well right dere!"

"I'm not stupid enough to fall for that, you—!" Jessie angrily says.

But James spots it as well, "Wait, Jessie. It may be true."

"What?" Jessie asks, and turns to see what it is.

What they see is a pink pump with a Slowpoke statue on the bottom. Eagerly, Team Rocket rushes towards it.

Meowth jumps up, "See? Just leave things to me."

"Oh, Meowth! You discovered it, you should do the honors!" Jessie happily says.

Then James says, "Yes, I agree."

"Since you found the well, you should have the honor of pumping the water first," Jessie says.

Meowth then grabs the pump handle, "Dat's real sportin of yous two. Den I'll just pump away!"

"And we'll drink just away!" Jessie and James happily say.

"Dat's right!" Meowth says and begins to pump the water. However, something's off, "Hey, wait a second."

"Just keep pumping!" Jessie and James say happily.

Meowth continues, but instead of spewing out water, it spews out sand and dirt.

"Guess the well ran dry," Meowth says.

"Even though it's like a desert out here, there has to be water somewhere," James says.

It's a lucky thing I brought these along with me!" Meowth says, holding two metal rods and begins to walk around with them, "They're called divining rods and as soon as we come across an underground spring, they start moving apart."

"Those diving rods sound simply divine to me!" James says.

Soon, the rods move apart, meaning they found water.

"Okay, dig here!" Meowth says.

With that, Jessie and James begin digging.

Meowth calls out, "Watza matter down there?!"

He looks down to see Jessie and James are tired.

"It's a good thing I came prepared!" Meowth says and gets out a remote, "Dis little baby ought to do the trick!" and presses the button.

Soon, the ground begins rumbling.

"What's that? What's happening?" Jessie panics.

Soon, something rises from the ground under Jessie and James. It's a robot that looks like a robot that looks like a Diglett

"Allow me to introduce our new-fangled hole digger! The Super Diglett Mark 2!" Jessie says.

Jessie angrily says, "And allow me to introduce an old-fashioned shovel!"

"Huh?" Meowth replies.

And Jessie clunks Meowth on the head with her shovel.

Soon, the three are in the cockpit and Meowth is dizzy from the impact.

"I'm dying of thirst! Let's get moving!" James says.

Then Jessie says, "Let's get this rig digging, Meowth!"

"Roger," Meowth says, dazed and pushes the lever.

The Super Digglet Mark 2 brings out drill arms and begins to dig into the ground.

"We should hit water any second now," Meowth says.

Inside the cockpit, Meowth spots what appears to be an underground spring.

Team Rocket cheers, "Hooray!"

However, the robot soon falls into an underground cave.

"What happened? Why did we crash down?" Jessie asks, dizzy.

"That wasn't a crash down, it was a splashdown," Meowth says.

Team Rocket exits the robot to see no water.

"Where's the water?" Jessie asks.

"It's too dark to see," Meowth says.

James then brings out a flashlight, "It feels damp in here. Let's look around."

Jessie gets her flashlight as well and they search to find a lake full of…

"Water!" Team Rocket cheers.

They soon rush towards the lake and dunk their heads in and drink their fill.

"And it's all ours," James happily says.

"So refreshing!" Jessie says, feeling refreshed.

Meowth soon notices multiple pairs of red eyes staring at him and his teammates.

Meowth panics, "I think we got company!"

Jessie and James soon spot the eyes and all three huddle together.

Meowth says, "Don't move."

"Don't worry," James says.

Then Meowth says, "This is just great, Meowth. You promised to find us some water and instead, we're up to our necks in trouble."

"What are they?" James asks, nervously and shines the light at them.

Soon, it's revealed to be a Slowpoke, "Slowww..."

Soon, Jessie and Meowth look to see the rest of the eyes belong to a large herd of Slowpoke.

"They're nothing to be scared of! They're only Slowpoke!" Jessie says.

Then James wonders, "But I wonder what all of them are doing down here."

Meowth soon spots the answer, "Look what I found! There's some kind of sign over here!"

Jessie and James arrive to see Meowth has found a sign.

Jessie reads, "'Welcome to the Slowpoke Well.'"

"Well well," Meowth says.

Jessie continues, "'Also known as Rainmaker's Rest. According to local folklore, it is believed that the Slowpoke that come here have the power to bring rain in times of drought, by yawning.'"

"I guess them Slowpoke gotta be careful that they don't get a big mouthful of water," Meowth says.

"The townspeople here must need water. And if the Slowpoke can make it rain by just yawning…" James says.

And Meowth says, "All we gotta do is swipe the Slowpoke and charge the town to make them yawn!"

"We'll finally be rich!" Jessie happily says.

Then James says, "Let's go get those Slowpoke, Jessie."

Soon, the two split up.

Meowth cries out, "Wait a second! I was the one who got us down here in the first place!"

Soon, Jessie walks to one of the Slowpoke, "Hello, you pink, precious, little Slowpoke."

Jessie tries to snatch it, but the Slowpoke she spots rolls into the water and drags her in when she grabs its tail.

"I'll get ya!" Meowth says, trying to grab another Slowpoke, but misses.

The Slowpoke slides away. It ends up happening to James as well. As a result, James and Meowth slide down and hit each other's heads.

Meowth shouts, "Get outta my face!"

"Get your paw off of me!" James angrily says.

Soon, Jessie surfaces, "These Slowpoke aren't as slow as they're cracked up to be."

"I think it's time to use the Diglett Mark 2's ultra secret weapon!"

"From now on, use the secret weapons right away!" James shouts.

Seeing trouble, a Shiny Slowpoke decides to leave the scene and get help.

Back on the surface, Mew and her friends come across a bridge to see the riverbed is all dried up.

"The riverbed's all dried up. I bet it hasn't rained here in months," Mew says.

Brock soon spots a town up ahead, "Hey, guys, look! There's Azalea Town!"

"Hooray, we finally made it!" Jen happily cheers.

"Great!" Tomo says.

"Yeah. We can deliver the GS Ball to Kurt, and then we can head to the gym for my next battle," Mew says.

"Great idea. Professor Oak's been waiting for you to get that GS Ball to Kurt so we could find out what's inside." Misty says.

"Honestly, I'm really curious about it myself, especially from what Mewtwo said," Mew says.

"You mean about life inside the GS ball?" Tomo asks.

"Exactly," Mew says.

"Me too. I want to see what's inside too," Jen says.

Suddenly, Brock says, "It's probably best we head to Kurt's place first."

The group turns to see Brock has found a sign.

Brock reads, "'Due to the continuing drought, water conservation measures must be taken. All schools, public buildings, and the Azalea Pokemon gym are closed until further notice.'"

"Aw, that's too bad. I guess we'll have to wait," Mew says.

Soon, the group enters Azalea Town.

Tomo soon notices the sign, "Hey, guys. What's the deal with all these signs? I keep seeing the same ones all over the place."

"And every one has the same pink drawing that looks like a Slowpoke," Misty says.

"The Slowpoke aren't just on the signs. Take a look!" Brock says.

Soon, everyone looks to spot a Slowpoke

"Slowpoke!" Jen says.

Soon, they see multiple Slowpoke around.

"Wow! They're all over the place! I've never seen this many Slowpoke," Misty says.

"Neither have I," Tomo says.

Soon, Mew says, "I think I understand what the signs mean. They're caution signs to let us know that Slowpoke roams in the town, and we need to watch out for them."

"Make sense," Brock says.

Mew saddens, "Something doesn't seem right. The Slowpoke looked weak and tired. They look like they're sick." She soon looks at the Slowpoke in concern.

Mew and her friends continue to walk around the town to find Kurt, and thanks to the sign, they know that they need to watch out for Slowpoke since it appears to roam around the town. Soon enough, Mew and her friends arrive in front of a fountain with another Slowpoke. Along with a Slowpoke statue.

"Wow. There is Slowpoke everywhere we turn," Jen says.

"Yeah. And it sounds like a good time to bring out mine," Mew says as she takes out her Pokeball.

Then she tosses it to allow her Slowpoke to walk out.

"Good idea," Misty says and takes out her Pokeball.

Tomo does the same, "Yeah."

Misty and Tomo then call out their Slowpoke. The Slowpoke smile and begin to chat among themselves, slowly.

Mew giggles.

Suddenly, they hear someone say, "Those are nice Slowpokes you have."

"Who said that?" Misty asks.

"Over here, young miss," The voice says.

The group turns to see another Slowpoke.

"Another Slowpoke?" Jen says, confused.

"Not quite. I'm merely dressed as a Slowpoke," The man says.

Then turns to see Tomo's Slowpoke, "And I must say, it's rare to see a Galarian Slowpoke around here."

"Thanks," Tomo says.

Jen walks over and asks, "Um mister, why are there so many Slowpoke here?

"The people here in Azalea Town treat Slowpoke like gold," The man answers.

"Why are they so important, sir?" Brock asks.

The man explains, "A long time ago, almost 400 years, there was a drought in Azalea Town, just like this one. Day after day, week after week the sun beat down, without a drop of rain. Soon the fields started drying up, and the crops started dying. The situation seemed hopeless. Then, one day, from out of nowhere, a Slowpoke appeared. The people looked up, and the Slowpoke gave a great big… And as soon as that Slowpoke yawned, the skies clouded over and the heavens opened up. The crops came back to life, the town was saved and the people rejoiced. Ever since that day, the people of Azalea Town have treated all Slowpoke with great honor and respect."

"Wow. Now I see why they're such a big deal here," Tomo says.

"That's some story," Misty says.

Then Mew asks, "But why are you dressed up like a Slowpoke?"

"There's a very good reason for it, young lady. It's so I don't frighten the Slowpoke when I go to the…" Soon, the man realizes something, "Almost forgot! I don't have time for talking, I've gotta get going right away! Nice meeting you. Bye, now!" and runs off.

Misty calls out, "Wait! We need you to help us find somebody!"

"Sorry, miss! I'm in a hurry! Some other time!" The man says, and continues to leave the scene.

Out in the desert, the strange in the Slowpoke costume heads inside the cave. As he runs in the cave, he can hear something.

"That sound! It's getting louder!" the man says.

The strange soon stops and gets sent sliding down to the floor of the Slowpoke Well when part of the ledge falls off. He soon spots Team Rocket using their Super Diglett Mark 2 to chase the Slowpoke.

Jessie calls out, "Wait! Come back here!"

"Stop!" James calls out.

The man asks, "What's going on here?!"

"Don't let em get away!" Meowth shouts from the machine.

The stranger runs towards the situation and calls out, "Stop! Stop right there!"

Team Rocket turns to see the stranger.

Meowth calls out, "Hey! There's one behind us!"

The stranger soon realizes that because of his costume, Team Rocket thinks he's a Slowpoke.

The strange cries out in a panic, "No! Wait! I'm not…

"Charge!" Meowth says, and makes the robot charge.

The stranger tries to escape, but hurts his back in the process, "My back!"

Meanwhile, Mew and her friends are walking around the neighborhood when they meet a little girl with brown hair.

Mew asks, "Excuse me, do you know where a man named Kurt lives?"

The points towards the gate to the right.

"Right here?" Mew asks.

"Thanks very much," Misty says.

Mew rings the bell and calls out, "Anybody home?"

"Hello?" Brock calls out.

"Is anybody at home?" Tomo calls out.

"We're looking for Kurt!" Misty calls out.

"Is he here?" Jen calls out.

Then the girl says, "He won't be back till later."

"Are you his next door neighbor or something, little girl?"

"He's my grandpa. I call him grandpa, but everyone else calls him Kurt," The girl says.

Then Misty asks, "Do you know where he went?"

"Down to the Slowpoke Well," The girl says.

"The Slowpoke Well?" Tomo says, confused.

Then Jen asks, "How long ago did he leave here?"

"Well, I don't exactly remember cause I was watching TV. But he heard a funny noise coming from the Slowpoke Well, and went down there to find out what it was," The girl says.

Suddenly, they hear a sound, "Slowpoke." (Help.)"

The group turns to see the Shiny Slowpoke walking towards them.

"It's a Slowpoke, but in a different color," Brock says.

Jen and Mew walk to the Slowpoke.

Mew asks, "What's wrong?"

"Slow Slowpoke Slowpoke Slow Slowpoke," (Strange people… trying to capture us… in Well…) The Shiny Slowpoke says.

Mew turns to her friends, "It looks like there's trouble at the Slowpoke Well. People are trying to capture the other Slowpoke."

"Then we should head there right away," Brock says.

Soon, Mew and the others arrive.

"Here's the well, and according to the girl, there should be a cave close by," Mew says.

Tomo points, "There it is."

The group soon spots the cave.

"Alright guys, let's go," Mew says.

Everyone walks down the cave with their Slowpoke out, as the Shiny Slowpoke lead the way. Soon, they hear groaning in pain

"What's that?" Mew asks.

Soon, the group stop to see a Slowpoke laying before them, more like the strange in the slowpoke.

"It's the man in the Slowpoke suit again! What's that matter? What's wrong? Did somebody hurt you?" Misty asks, concerned.

"My… my back…" The mean says.

Brock walks over and asks, "What are you doing here?"

"No time for explanations. A giant robot is capturing the Slowpoke!" The man says.

Soon, everyone heard the noise and continue forward while Team Rocket chase after more Slowpoke

"Alright, let's get em!" Jessie says.

"Now, Meowth! Catch them with the net missiles!" James says

"Here they go!" Meowth says.

The net missiles fire and multiple Slowpoke have been captured as Mew and the others arrive

Look, guys! A giant Diglett!" Misty says.

"That's no Diglett, that's a robot! And I bet I know who's inside that thing!" Mew says.

Soon, Team Rocket laugh is soon heard and perform the motto.

Jessie:

We're inside, so prepared for trouble.

James:

We're even snide, so make it double.

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation!

James:

To unite all people within our nation!

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie:

Jessie!

James:

James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James:

Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

Meowth:

Meowth! That's right!

Then Meowth presses the button to launch more net missiles. Mew and the others, including the Slowpoke are shocked to see them capturing more of the Slowpoke. Soon, Brock, the man, and Tomo arrive.

The mean demands, "What are those three going to do now?"

"What does it look like we're doing, Mr. Masquerade? We're stealing them!" James answers.

Then Jessie says, "Then we'll have them make some rain for those poor, parched townsfolk. For a price."

"A steep one, too. Ha!" Meowth says.

Mew calls out, "This isn't fair! You can't try to sell people rain!"

But Jessie says, "We'll sell anything we can get people to buy!"

"If we could steal an Aerodactyl, we'd be selling air!" James says.

The man in the Slowpoke costume angrily says, "This is an outrage! They have to be stopped!"

He tries to run into the line of danger, but is still injured.

"Mister!" Jen says, worried.

"Just take it easy," Brock says

Still in pain, the man says, "Save them!"

"I'll try," Mew says.

Then turns to her Pokemon, "Pikachu! Eevee! Slowpoke! Let's go!"

The Pokemon agrees and follows Mew.

Mew calls out, "If you think we're gonna let you roll out of here with those Slowpoke, you better think again, Team Rocket!"

"Oh really? And how do you think you're gonna stop us from leaving?" Jessie says.

"Pikachu, use your Thunderbolt!" Mew says.

But Jessie says, "Not so fast, twerp!

"Take a good look around, first," James says.

Soon, Mew notices the free Slowpoke

"That's right. The floor of this cave is all wet, an electric attack will shock all those Slowpoke, too," James says.

"Alright then, Plan B. Slowpoke, use Confusion!" Mew calls out.

Slowpoke then uses Confusion to levitate the Giant Diglett into the air. Team Rocket soon begins to panic.

"Now Slowpoke, toss 'em!" Mew calls out.

And Slowpoke does just that and tosses them.

Jessie cries out, "Meowth, do something!"

"Returning fire!" Meowth says.

Then fires a rocket powered fist towards Slowpoke.

"Slowpoke!" Mew cries out and saves Slowpoke.

However, the fist strikes her and she falls to the ground, protecting Slowpoke.

"Mew!" Jen cries out.

Mew struggles and looks at her Pokemon, "Are you okay, Slowpoke?"

Slowpoke nods in reply

Then Mew hears Jessie say, "I think we've caught all the rainmaking Slowpoke we need."

"It's time to go and make some dough," James adds.

Laughing victoriously, Team Rocket make their getaway.

"I can't believe they're gonna get away this time," Mew says, struggling to get up.

Just then, the Shiny Slowpoke does the same. That prompted all the other free Slowpoke to leave the area.

"The rest of the Slowpoke are on the move!" Mew says.

"Where are they going?" Misty asks.

"I'm not sure," The man says.

"Looks like all of them are heading for the outside!" Brock says.

Soon, Mew and Misty's Slowpoke specifically begin to follow the other Slowpoke. Soon, enough, the Slowpoke head outside of the have and head up and stop at the ledge at the top.

"What are they doing?" Brock asks.

"I'm not certain, but it may be something they've done before," The man says.

Soon, the Slowpoke sit down

"Could it really be?" Mew asks

"We'll see any second now," The man says.

Soon, all the Slowpoke, including Mew's, Misty's and the Shiny Slowpoke begin to yawn together, and right on cue, storm clouds gather together.

"Storm clouds!" Jen says, surprised.

Soon, it begins to rain.

"It's true! They ARE rainmakers!" The man says.

"I guess that means mine and Mew are also rain makers too," Misty says.

Soon, the town's people rejoice as the rain falls and run outside to enjoy the storm.

Back at the well, Mew and the others reach higher ground as the rain water rushes into the cave, refilling the wall. As well as the hole Team Rocket made. Soon, they hear something rushing behind them.

"Hey, did you guys hear something?" Meowth asks.

"It sounds a little like…" James says.

"Running water," Jessie says.

Soon, the water hits them. Up on the surface, the rain stops, and as soon as it does, the top of Team Rocket's robot and Team Rocket get blasters off from treads.

"I never thought we'd survive that one," James says.

"At least we got the Slowpoke," Meowth says.

"The twerps couldn't take those away," Jessie says.

Jessie looks up in horror as Mew and her Pokemon stand before them. Team Rocket panic to see Pikachu charging up.

"I think we're in for a shock," Jessie says.

Then they try to hide in the robot.

"You can run, but you can't hide this time, Team Rocket! Pikachu, Thunder attack! Eevee, Swift Attack! Slowpoke, use Hydro Pump!"

With that, all three Pokemon perform their attacks on the robot, and a Team Rocket is sent flying.

Team Rocket screams, "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

"We did it!" Mew cheers.

As the gang below celebrate, the Slowpoke Team Rocket have managed to escape and rejoin their friends on the ledge.

"Do you guys really think that it was the Slowpoke yawning that made it start to rain?" Brock wonders

"Maybe," Misty says.

"Definitely," Mew says with a nod

Then the man says, "The world of Pokemon is filled with mysteries and this is one of the most mysterious.

Everyone looks as a rainbow forms overhead.

Later, returning to the town, everything has flourished and the Slowpoke are relaxing at the fountain, including Mew's Misty's and Tomo's.

"The townspeople are happy, and so are the Slowpoke," Brock says.

"Yes. And it's all thanks to you. You're our new heroes," The man says.

"We're glad to help," Mew says.

Then the man says, "Say. Maybe you'd all like to go for a little tour of the town."

"Maybe later, sir. We have to find a man named Kurt first," Misty says.

"Kurt?" The man says, and removes the head of his costume, "My name is Kurt."

Everyone becomes shocked to see the man's face, and remembers the picture Professor Oak has shown to them. They realize that this is the man we're looking for.

Then the man asks, "Well, now, why are you all looking for me?"

Now Mew and her friends end up with more surprises from Azalea Town. They end up finding Kurt, the man they're looking for, and will be able to learn more about the GS Ball.
