Pokemon Journeys (My Version)

Continuing to make their way to Azalea Town and the next Johto League Gym, Mew and her friends find themselves in thick, dark woods. They are trying to find their way to get to the town, and even try to use the guide book and Pokenav for it.

"Is there anything the matter, Brock?" Misty asks

"There's nothing the matter with me, but there's definitely something the matter with this map," Brock says.

"Hmm, my Pokenav says that we're getting close to Azalea Town, but I'm having trouble from our location of which we need to go," Mew says

"Sounds like we're lost again," Jen says.

Suddenly, someone calls out, "Hey, you!"

The group turns to see a boy with purple hair, dark teal shirt, a red vest, light blue pants, and dark shoes.

The boy asks, "Have you kids seen any Cyndaquil around here?"

"Haven't seen one," Mew says.

"Nope," Tomo answers.

"Not a one," Jen says.

"Beats me. I heard there are supposed to be wild ones all over the place," The young boy says.

"I see," Mew says.

"Maybe if we keep walking we'll find one, or they'll find us," Jen says.

"Probably," Mew says.

However, the boy says, "Listen here, kid! You better stay away from the Cyndaquil if you know what's good for you!"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Mew asks, not liking the boy's attitude.

Brock steps forward, "Look, kid! What makes you think you have the right to tell her what he can and can't do?!"

"Whoever happens to find the Cyndaquil first has the right to catch it fair and square!" Misty says.

The boy angrily says, "Says who? Just stay out of my way and keep away form the Cyndaquil!" and walks away.

"What an attitude," Misty says.

"I feel sorry for any Cyndaquil he catches," Jen says.

"You can say that again," Brock says.

"If you ask me, he shouldn't be catching it if he's not going to be nice," Tomo says.

"Yeah," Mew says.

Misty turns to Mew, "Hey Mew, if you want, you should go find a Cyndaquil."

"Really? Are you sure?" Mew asks.

"We're sure. Besides, I'm sure you want to catch one before that guy does," Brock says.

"Okay, we'll try not to be gone for too long," Mew says.

Then turns to her Pokemon, "Come on, Pikachu, Eevee."

The Pokemon agree.

Then the three head off into the woods to find a Cyndaquil.

"Personally, I hope Mew finds a Cyndaquil. Even if it isn't a water type, it's really cute," Misty says.

"I hope she finds it before that guy does," Tomo says.

"Me too," Jen says.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket spot the group from a top a large hill

"Bingo! They're right in our line of fire!" Meowth says,

"Our patience and planning is about to pay off," James says.

Then Jessie says, "Not to mention our scrimping and saving."

With teary eyes, Meowth says, "About time! This Meowth has had enough of the rat race!"

"We took jobs that were beneath us. Said demeaning things,"Jessie says, thinking of her time as a cashier at a fast food restaurant, "Just to save money for our latest secret weapon!"

James thinks about the time he worked as a road worker, "There were times when I thought the time clock wasn't the only thing that would get punched."

Meowth also thinks he works at handing things out to people, "It was manual labor for you and Meowth-ual labor for me."

"And when the sun sank low and our spirits sank with it…" James says.

Then Meowth says, "We'd look away from our humdrum existence and into the night sky."

"Knowing in our hearts that one of these fateful days, we would finally be rewarded," Jessie adds.

James adds, "By tricking the twerps and catching that Pikachu and Eevee for ourselves!"

"And then the tree of us…" Meowth says.

Jessie says, "Would be stars in our own right. Shining brightly and triumphantly for the boss in the Team Rocket sky!" And break down in tears, "So sorry. I don't know what's come over me."

"It's okay, Jess. This heat must've gone to your head," James says, reassuring Jessie.

"Someday we'll worry that our success will do the same thing, but until we do something right, this'll just have to do," Meowth says.

The three nod their heads together.

Meanwhile, the group keep together and decide to walk around and find Mew, since she is taking a little longer.

"How far away did she get?" Misty asks.

Suddenly, they hear rustling in the bushes, followed by a familiar motto.

Jessie:

Lost in the woods? Prepare for trouble!

James:

Hand over the goods, or we'll make it double!

"Not them again!" Misty says, annoyed

"Team Rocket!" Brock says.

"Here we go again," Tomo says.

Soon, Team Rocket's latest robot lands in front of the group.

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation!

James:

To unite all people within our nation!

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie:

Jessie!

James:

James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of Light!

James:

Surrender now or prepare to fight!

Meowth:

Meowth! That's right!

But Meowth notices someone's missing, "But this ain't!"

Jessie notices it as well, "Where are Pikachu, Eevee, and the twerp?!"

"Neither of them are here right now!" Misty says.

"Whoops. In that case, we take all that back. Let's go," Jessie says.

"Roger!" James replies.

Team Rocket ducks back into the mecha Meowth.

Then James says "Meowth-inator Impersonator, preparing to launch! Ignition!"

"Meowth that's right," The robot says.

Soon, Team Rocket takes off looking for Mew

Meanwhile, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee are still searching for a Cyndaquil.

"Have you got any idea where this Cyndaquil might be, guys?" Mew asks.

"Pika." (Sadly, no.) Pikachu answers.

"Eevee," (We don't.) Eevee says.

"Too bad," Mew says.

Suddenly, Jessie's voice appears, "Hold it right there, you two!"

Soon, Team Rocket's Mecha Meowth lands.

"What is that thing?!" Mew asks.

"You won't believe your eyes when we open the hatch!" Jessie says.

Then James says, "You're in for a surprise, cause you met your match."

"It's us, twerp! You know, me and my big Meowth!" Meowth says.

Mew says, irritated, "Team Rocket!"

"Eevee," (Oh great.) Eevee replies, annoyed.

Then Pikachu replies, "Pi Pikachu!" (Not you again!)

"Not a chance. Things may be the same except that only, today, we ain't the same old Team Rocket you're used to," Meowth says.

Then Jessie laughs, "That's right!"

Then Team Rocket ducks into the robot.

Then Jessie says, "We decided that, to be successful, we'd have to build a better mousetrap!"

"Or in this case, a better Meowth trap. So we pooled our savings and built this one!" James says.

And Meowth says, "Now hand over that Pikachu or else!"

"Why should I listen to you, you giant fur ball?!" Mew calls out.

Then Mew calls out, "Pikachu, Thunderbolt, now! Eevee, use Swift"

Pikachu and Eevee both use their attacks, but to no avail. Team Rocket laughs it off

Then Meowth says, "The twoip don't know that electric energy just helps us power this ting."

"Attack!" Jessie calls out.

"Time to make this trouble double with our bubble gum bombs!" James says.

Soon, Team Rocket's robot begins firing bombs out of its paws.

Everyone keeps dodging the attack.

"Looks like you four got yourselves into a stick situation this time!" Jessie says with laughter.

Mew continues to dodge as she calls out, "Pikachu! Eevee! This way!" (laughs)

"Pika!" (Gotcha!) Pikachu says.

"Vee!" (Okay!) Eevee says.

The group runs under the mecha, causing it to trip head over heels.

"What was that all about?!" Jessie asks.

"You said take it out for a spin," Meowth says.

Soon, Mew and her Pokemon are running downhill with the mecha on their tails.

"It's coming!" Mew panics.

Soon, Mew spots her exit, Over there!

"Get ready, guys!" Mew says.

Pikachu and Eevee jump on Mew's shoulders. Then the three duck away into the bushes where Team Rocket can't see them.

Meowth looks around, "Huh? Where'd they go?"

"Nowhere that one of our impressive array of inventions can't find them!" James says.

Then Jessie says, "While I was frittering away my time as a fry cook, I was also thinking of clever new weapons."

"Like this! I scream, you scream, we all scream, for eye beam!" James says, and the mecha activates the eye beam.

Soon, the eye beam spots the group.

"The eye beam's found our target!" James says.

Jessie calls out, "Fire!"

"Roger!" James says.

Then the mecha fires more bubble gum bombs, forcing the group out of hiding.

"Hate to burst your bubble, but we've got things to do!" Mew says, and runs off

"After them!" Jessie calls out.

Then James says, "Roger!"

The mecha continues, but trips on a tree root and falls down.

"There appears to be some kind of slip-up," Meowth comments.

Soon, the three come to a rock wall full of small caves

"Look at all those caves!" Mew says.

"Eevee Eevee," (Maybe we can hide here.) Eevee says.

Suddenly, Pikachu spots something, "Pikachu!" (Look up there!)

The group looks up to spot a Cyndaquil.

"It's a Cyndaquil," Mew says and takes out her Pokedex.

Dexter says, "Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokemon. A Fire Type. Normally mild and even-tempered, Cyndaquil will shoot a scorching flame out of its back when upset.

"Looks like we found one after all, didn't we?" Mew says.

Then turns her back, "And we better get to the caves before Team Rocket finds us."

Soon, the three begin to climb up the cliff to meet up with the Cyndaquil and find a place to hide from Team Rocket and their robot. However, the boy from earlier arrives on the scene and spots them.

"Not them again!" The boy says, annoyed.

He soon notices the Cyndaquil in one of the caves, "Cyndaquil. Dream on, kid. And gets out his Pokeball, "That Pokémon's mine!"

Soon, out of the Pokeball is a Sandslash.

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, Sand Attack, now!"

Sandslash then starts climbing the wall with ease. Mew turns to spot the Sandslash. Before Mew can react, the Sandslash sends the attack down at them

"Knock it off!" Mew shouts.

Luckily, Mew is able to hand on to the rocky wall with all her might.

The boy laughs as he reaches the cave, "See ya kid."

Mew glares at the boy and says, "That wasn't fair!"

Pikachu and Eevee agree

"Big deal! I got here first! That Cyndaquil is mine!" The boy says.

Then the Cyndaquil runs into the cave

"Don't just stand there, Sandslash! Go get the Cyndaquil!" The boy says.

Then he and his Sandslash run into the cave.

Mew turns to her Pokemon, "Come on, we can't let that boy catch that Cyndaquil."

Then the three climb up the wall.

Suddenly, Team Rocket shouts up as Jessie shouts, "You're not gonna get away this time!"

"Hey, I'm in the middle of something here! I have no time to play with a big bucket of bolts!" Me shouts.

Pikachu and Eevee agree.

Then the group runs into the cave.

Jessie angrily shouts, "Bucket of bolts?! Can't you do something to stop them?"

"Roger!" James says.

Inside the cave, the group finds more caves

"This is not going to be easy. Wonder where they could have gone," Mew says.

However, the Cyndaquil runs past them.

"It's Cyndaquil," Mew says.

Then Sandslah runs past them. Then the boy runs past them.

Meanwhile, the mecha Meowth opens its mouth, ready for another attack.

James says, "Meowth-inator Impersonator ready for launch! Twerp seeking putty ball, engage! Engine light, ignite! On your mark! Get set! Go!"

And Jessie whacks James on the head with a mallet and shouts, "Just fire it!"

"What ever you say," James says.

Soon, the putty ball launches into one of the caves.

Meanwhile, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee search for Cyndaquil. They look around, and suddenly hear something.

"What was that?" Mew asks.

They continue to hear something and spot the putty ball

"Hang on, guys!" Mew says, and she runs away from it.

Meanwhile the boy and Sandslash cornered it

The boy laughs, "It's all over. I got it cornered!" And calls out to his Pokemon, "Quick, Sandslash, Poison Sting, now!"

Sandslash launches the attack, but Cyndaquil dodges the attack. And suddenly lands in Mew's ball as she runs by.

"Hey! Wait!" The boy shouts and tries to chase after them.

But he ends up getting flattened by the putty ball

"What a day! What's next?!" Mew asks.

The putty ball then slams into the wall and blows up, sending the group flying enough to force them out of the cave. Mew holds her Pokemon in her arms and lands on the ground.

"That was a close one," Mew says.

Then asks the Pokemon, "You aren't hurt, are you?"

"Pikachu," (I'm okay.) Pikachu answers.

"Eevee," (Me too.) Eevee answers.

Then Cyndaquil answers, ""Cyndaquil." (I am, too.)

Suddenly, they hear Jessie's voice, "Well, look what the cat dragged out."

Mew and the others look to find the Mecha Meowth before them, which spells trouble.

Mew and the Pokemon find themselves staring down the Meowth-inator Impersonator as it prepares to fire more bubble gum bombs.

"Well, you two, there's only one way to settle a standoff like this. A gum fight!" Jessie says.

Then James says, "Fire one double trouble bubble gum bomb!"

And then the Meowth Mecha fire, and one of them has Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee pinned to the wall. Except Mew's arm holding Cyndaquil.

Jessie cheers, "We did it! I always heard that honest work would have its rewards!"

Suddenly, Meowth notices something, "Hey! What's that?"

Jessie and James: What's what?" Jessie and James ask, confused.

Looking on the monitor, Meowth says, "Looks like the twoip's got himself a Cyndaquil. That Pokémon's pretty hard to come by."

"What do you say we help ourselves to that one, too?" James replies.

"Sure," Jessie says

"Run away while you still can, Cyndaquil!" Mew says, and tosses Cyndaquil away for his chance to escape.

Cyndaquil turns to Mew.

Mew calls out, "Get going, now. We can take care of ourselves. Promise."

Cyndaquil agrees and tries to escape, but the mecha begins to attack.

"Not so fast!" James says.

"We've got the twerp right where we want him, so we'll catch the Cyndaquil first," Jessie says.

Meowth agrees, "What a good idea! First we'll weaken if with our patented punch!"

Mew calls out, "Make a break for it, before it's too late!"

"Pika!" (Hurry!) Pikachu calls out.

"Eevee Eevee!" (Quick, before they capture you!) Eevee calls out.

Cyndaquil simple stare at the robot.

Mew calls out, "Hurry up and go!"

Instead of running, Cyndaquil begins to light up his back.

"Now!" Jessie calls out.

And James says, "Meowth-inator Impersonator, get ready! Meowth punch!"

Preparing to fire, but Cyndaquil launches a massive Flamethrower, causing the robot to overheat, catch fire, and start imploding. Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee grow concerned, worrying the robot could explode. Suddenly, the robot remains standing despite the burns.

Jessie laughs in triumph, "As you can see from that punch, this is a pretty sophisticated weapon!"

However, the robotic fist begins to crumble and the robot starts short-circuiting.

"Something tells me we're about to blow like Ben said. Bubble gum and all!" James says.

"I guess we bit off more than we could chew," Meowth says.

The robot continues to show signs of exploding.

"We better do something before Cyndaquil gets caught in the blast!" Mew says.

Then turns to Pikachu, "Pikachu, use your Thunderbolt attack!"

"Pika?" (You sure?) Pikachu asks, shocked.

"We'll be alright, just go ahead!" Mew says.

"Eevee," (Just do it!) Eevee says.

Pikachu agrees. Mew and Eevee brace themselves. Then Pikachu fires away with the electric attack, shattering the bubble gum bomb restraining them.

Mew quickly grabs her Pokeball and throws it, "Pokéball, go!"

With that, the Pokeball spins and hit Cyndaquil and pulls him inside as the robot explodes, sending Team Rocket blasting off. At the same time, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee are blown back from the blast.

James asks, "So what's next?"

"Another job?" Meowth suggests.

"It's up in the air!" Jessie says.

Team Rocket cries out, "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

Soon, Team Rocket is gone, and the smoke clears to see Mew holding her friends.

Mew looks at them and asks, " Are you both okay?"

"Pika," (I'm good.) Pikachu answers.

"Eevee," (I'm okay.) Eevee answers.

Mew looks around and asks, "Where's Cyndaquil?"

Soon, Mew spots her Pokeball and walks over to pick it up.

Once she picks it up, Mew tosses it, "Go!"

And out of the Pokeball is Cyndaquil.

"We were worried, Cyndaquil. Are you okay?" Mew asks, worried.

"Cynda, (I'm fine.) Cyndaquil answers.

"Well, that's good," Mew says.

Pikachu and Eevee agree.

"Pikachu, Eevee and I couldn't help wondering if you used that Flamethrower attack back there to help us get away from Team Rocket," Mew says. "I can tell you're more than just a powerful Pokemon, you're an extra nice one, too."

Suddenly, they hear Misty's voice, "Mew!"

"Are you okay?!" Brock calls out.

Everyone turns to see the group arrive. Soon, they spot Cyndaquil with Mew and the others.

Jen says, " Oh, you found a Cyndaquil."

"Did you catch it already?" Tomo asks.

"I was actually just trying to help it out back there, but I used my Pokéball without even thinking," Mew says.

Suddenly, a familiar voice says, "Back off, kid!"

Everyone turns to see the boy show up with his Sandslash.

"I told you to get out of the way so I could catch that Cyndaquil! Go, Sandslash!" The boy says.

Mew picks up Cyndaquil and says, "Sorry, but you're a bit too late. I already caught this Cyndaquil, so just give it up and walk away!"

The boy is surprised at Mew.

Cyndaquil asks, "Cynda Cyndaquil?" (Do I have to walk away?)

"No. Not you, Cyndaquil. I mean the boy with the Sandslash," Mew says,

Then the boy says, "How bout I challenge you to a battle with my Sandslash and the winner can keep Cyndaquil?"

"That's ridiculous. Why should she battle you for it when he already caught it once herself?" Brock questions with a frown.

"That's right," Misty says.

"Cyndaquil is my friend, not a piece of property," Mew says.

"What did you expect from a chicken?" The boy questions.

"What?" Tomo questions.

"Can't blame her for being scared, she's not a very good trainer," The boy says.

Mew sighs and turns to Cyndaquil, "Hey Cyndaquil, you want to battle with me against that boy and his Sandslash?"

"Cyndaquil," (Of course.) Cyndaquil says with a nod.

Then Mew turns to the boy, "Alright, we accept your challenge."

The boy chuckles with a smug on his face.

But Brock calls out, "Hold on a second!"

"You can't use Cyndaquil in a match without ever training it!" Misty says.

"Don't worry, I trust Cyndaquil, and I can tell Cyndaquil trusts me. We just need to work together," Mew says.

Cyndaquil nods his head

Soon, the battle is ready to begin.

"So it's a single Pokemon, one on one battle. Ready?" The boy says.

"Sure! Bring it on!" Mew says.

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, get it with your Fury Swipes!"

Sandslash changes.

Mew calls out, "Dodge it, Cyndaquil!"

Cyndaquil dodges the attack before Sandslash can strike it.

"Way to go, Cyndaquil!" Mew says.

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, get in there and finish it with a Slash attack!"

"Cyndaquil dodge!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil dodges the attack and it lands on the tree. Sandslash continues to slash and follow, but misses Cyndaquil as it cuts down the trees.

"That Sandslash's Slash attack is amazing destructive power!" Brock says.

"You know it and I know it, but I get the feeling that Cyndaquil has no idea," Misty says.

"Keep it going, Cyndaquil," Mew says.

"Wrap it up with your best attack, Sandslash! Keep using Fury Swipes!" The boy calls out and Sandslash charges.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, keep dodging it!"

Cyndaquil continues to dodge the attack with ease.

"I can't believe how good its defense is! Keep it up, Cyndaquil!" Mew says.

Brock is impressed, "Incredible! It doesn't waste a single motion when it avoids those attacks!"

Finally, Sandslash gets worn out.

"Great! Now that Sandslash is all worn out, give it your tackle attack!"Mew calls out.

With that, Cyndaquil uses Tackle attack, causing Sandslash to stumble, but still tired.

The boy shouts, "I don't remember telling you to take a rest, Sandslash!"

Sandslash goes back on the offense, but Cyndaquil keeps dodging.

"Sandslash, use Sand Attack!" The boy calls out.

Sandslash tosses some sand into Cyndaqui's eyes, blinding it.

"Cyndaquil!" Mew calls out.

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, time for Swift attack!"

Sandslsh then fires the attack.

"Alright, Cyndaquil, fight back with your Flamethrower attack!" Mew says.

Cyndaquil tries to use the attack, but it's not a full blast.

Mew acts fast, "Quick, dodge!"

Cyndaquil dodges the attack.

"Looks like your useless Cyndaquil can't handle basic attack skills, can it?" The boy mocks.

Mew says, "You're wrong about that!"

Mew turns to Cyndaquil, "Are you alright, Cyndaquil? I saw you use Flamethrower before. Does it take you a little while to warm up before you can use an attack?"

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, let's use your Swift attack one more time, now!"

Sandslash launches the attack.

"Quick, dodge!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil dodges the attack, but Sandslash blocks it. Then strikes the Swift Attack, hitting Cyndaquil.

"Cyndaquil!" Mew cries out.

Cyndaquil struggles back on his feet.

Mew kneels to Cyndaquil, "Cyndaquil. If you wanna win this, all you have to do is watch your opponent's every move, and dodge its attacks the same way you've been doing."

"Close in on it with Scratch attack!" The boy calls out.

Sandslash charges in, but Cyndaquil continues to keep dodging the attack until one attack finally lands.

"Cyndaquil!" Mew cries out, as Cyndaquil hits the tree.

Mew calls out, "Don't give up hope! You're much faster than that Sandslash is! Just stay one step ahead of its attacks!"

Then the boy calls out, "Sandslash, finish it with Fury Swipes!"

Sandslash closes in for the attack, but Cyndaquil dodges the attack. As a result, Sandslash gets stuck.

"This is your chance, Cyndaquil! Tackle it!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil dives in head first and nails Sandslash on the head, knocking it out

"Yeah!" Mew cheers

"You did it, Cyndaquil!" Brock cheers.

Misty happily says, "That was great!"

"And that was great defense," Tomo says.

"Yay!"Jen says.

Even the Pokemon cheer.

Just then, the boy calls back his Pokeball, "Return!"

Once he returns his Pokemon, he brings out the net, "I'm gonna get that Cyndaquil and none of you can stop me!"

The boy swings his net to catch Cyndaquil, but dodges every attack.

"But that's cheating!" Tomo calls out

"Who cares?!" The boy angrily says.

Mew angrily says, "Alright, we're through playing around! Cyndaquil, use Flamethrower on him!"

Cyndaquil lights up his back and spews a mighty powerful blast of Flamethrower at the boy, burning him and his net, thus forcing him to retreat.

Misty calls out, "That's what you get for being a cheater!"

"Maybe you should try training yourself before you try training anymore Pokemon!" Brock calls out.

"Know what you are, Cyndaquil? Hot!" Mew says and pets Cynaquil's head.

Cyndaquil turns off the flames and jumps into Mew's arms.

"You definitely earned that the hard way," Brock says.

"Good job, Mew," Misty says.

"Thanks," Mew says.

Then holds Cyndaquil, "I'm gonna be counting on you a lot from now on, Cyndaquil."

Cyndaquil agrees.

Everyone is happy to see Mew has made a new friend, and has taught a mean trainer a lesson.

Later that night, in a city, Team Rocket spots a star shining above.

"Look! I see the same star that used to inspire us on those lonely nights so long ago!" Jessie says.

Then James says, "The only difference is it's further out of reach than it was before."

"This job's really the pits, but it don't seem so bad when you can look up and see all of them stars over your head," Meowth says.

Just then, a foreman comes in and says, "I'll have you seeing plenty of stars if you don't quit babblin' and get to work!"

"Yes sir!" Team Rocket quickly says.

With that, Team Rocket continues digging a hole.

"Enough! Move your arms, not your mouths!" The foreman says.

"Yes, sir!" Team Rocket replies.
