Pokemon Journeys (My Version)

Chapter 165: Chapter 25: Wired For Battle!

It's another bright and sunny day as Mew and her friends head for Azalea Town. However lurking nearby, is Team Rocket, and when Team Rocket is around, it usually means trouble.

Narrator: Another letter perfect day as our heroes head for Azalea Town. But lurking nearby, is a trio that spells trouble.

Meowth sticks his head out of the bush and asks, "What's the plan for getting Pikachu and Eevee today?

Then Jessie appears, "We run ahead of them…"

And James, "And dig a big hole."

"The pitfall plan! That's one of my favorites! I love that plan!" Meowth says, loudly.

Jessie quickly covers Meowth's mouth, "Quiet!"

"Quiet!" James says.

Soon, Team Rocket sneaks off to catch the group of friends on guard.

"This'll be perfect," Jessie says.

"No witnesses," James says.

"Yeah," Meowth agrees.

Suddenly, someone says, "Pardon me."

Team Rocket turns to see a grown man with gray hair, and wears a dark green and dark blue color kimono.

The man asks, "Are you three looking for a Pokemon battle?"

Jessie and James quickly get out their Pokeballs as Meowth preps his claws

"If you're looking for one…" Jessie says.

"You came to the right place," Meowth says.

Suddenly, something dashes through the trees, making Team Rocket worry. Then they scream for their lives to see what is coming towards them.

Up ahead, Mew ends up hearing Team Rocket scream.

"What's the matter, Mew?" Misty asks.

"I thought I just heard something," Mew says.

Then Brock asks, "What kind of something?"

"Sounded kind of like a scream," Mew answers.

Meanwhile back to Team Rocket, Arbok, Weezing, and Meowth have been badly beaten by the stranger and his Pokemon, and Jessie and James are left speechless.

Dizzy, Meowth sas, "Good thing we took it easy on you."

"Uh, sir, maybe you'd care for a rematch?" James asks, nervously.

Then Jessie asks, "What do you say?"

Then Meowth screams for his life, "I SAY LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!"

With that, the three Pokemon run for their lives with Jessie and James not far behind as the stranger's Pokemon lands.

The man says in disappointment, "They're not making Pokémon trainers like they used to."

A little later, Mew and her friends continue, and this time, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee senses something leaping through the treetops.

"I know I heard something that time," Mew says.

"I heard it too, and I didn't like how it sounded," Misty says, worried.

"You don't think we're being watched?" Tomo asks.

Jen grows worried, "Watched?"

Soon, Pikachu and Eevee spot it dashing around.

Mew says, "Pikachu, Eevee, check it out!"

The two leap into action as the Pokemon shows up, causing the group to brace for the attack. But soon see the three Pokemon are in a face off.

What they see against Pikachu and Eevee is a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a red, metallic exoskeleton. It has gray, retractable forewings and hind wings with simple, curved venation. Its rounded head has three blunt horns extending above its forehead, and eyes with dark yellow pupils. Its thin, black neck connects to a black, teardrop-shaped patch on its thorax. Scizor has broad shoulders and thin, segmented arms ending in large, round pincers. It has a large, rounded abdomen with three black, chevron-shaped stripes extending from its waist down its front. Its legs are defined by large hip joints, thin thighs, and wide calves, and its feet end in a clawed toe on each side.

"Mew, maybe you should tell Pikachu or Evee to do one of their attacks," Jen says.

"Sadly, it's not the best idea at this point," Mew says.

"She's right. That thing's waiting for Pikachu or Eevee to make the first move. If it's the wrong one, who knows what could happen?

"Your first move might be your last one," Mew says.

Then Tomo asks, "What do you think we should do?"

"I don't know, but if you ask me, I'd say it doesn't have a trainer," Brock answers.

But someone says, "I am its trainer."

Soon, the stranger from before comes out from behind the tree, and his Pokemon returns to his side.

"Well, it's a good thing you didn't ask me," Brock says.

Everyone just sighs in relief and embarrassment, Pikachu and Eevee then collapse on their bottoms and fall over forward.

Mew kneels to her friends, "Eevee! Pikachu! Are you okay?

Misty angrily confronts the man, "Hey! What's the idea of letting your Pokemon loose?! Don't you know that somebody could get hurt?!"

"I'm sorry. We were just doing a little secret training." The man sheepishly says.

Misty angrily scolds the man, "Well, I wish somebody would train you, mister?!"

Brock then pulls Misty away, "Okay, let's save the etiquette lessons for later."

"I apologize for causing you anxiety," the man says as he bows a bit.

Then says, "I am the Pokemon trainer, Muramasa, allow me to introduce my Scizor, whom I call Masamune."

"Hello," Tomo and Jen reply.

"It's nice to meet you. And your Scizor Muasamune looks pretty strong," Mew says.

She brings out the Pokedex and Dexter says, "Scizor, the Scissor Pokemon. The evolved form of Scyther. A Bug and Steel Type. Its incredible attack speed and its large scissor-like claws make it a formidable opponent."

"Kinda looks like a bigger, redder Scyther," Tomo says.

"Yeah, but Scizor's a lot more powerful than Scyther," Brock says.

Then Muramasa says, "I'm impressed, with both you and your Pokemon. You're just the sort of trainer I've been looking for, young lady."

"Me?" Mew says, confused

Soon, Mew and her friends arrive in Muramasa's home.

"Welcome. This is my elite Pokemon training center," Muramasa says.

Mew and her friends are amazed to see so many trainers and their Pokemon training and battling.

"Young trainers from all over the world come here to strengthen themselves and their Pokemon. All I ask is that they work diligently to accomplish their dreams of being victorious in their Pokemon battles," Muramasa explains.

The trainers bow with their Pokemon, "Teacher, good morning."

"Thank you. Continue your training, please," Muramasa says.

Then the students say, "Yes, teacher."

Soon, the group enters the main building of the center. Unknown to them, a young boy doing stuff on his laptop is watching them from the window.

"Good morning. Welcome to our school," The student says, bowing with respect.

Mew and the others bow with respect.

"Oh, thanks a lot. It's really nice to be here," Brock says.

Misty sweat drops, "I guess the first thing they teach in this school is how to be polite."

"Your teacher must be a really accomplished Pokemon trainer if so many students come to learn from him," Brock says.

Then the student says, "You wouldn't believe how many battles Mr. Muramasa won back in his day. He was one of the top trainers ever, but after winning so much, he decided to pass on what he knew to younger trainers so that they could become Pokemon masters. But he's not the only impressive one. His Scizor, Masamune, is an awesome Pokemon! It moves so fast, they used to call it, 'The Crimson Streak!"

Unknown to anyone, Team Rocket watches from afar.

"So, that was a Scizor," Jessie says.

"No wonder that guy's such a successful trainer," Meowth replies.

"He's got a Crimson Streak and we've got a losing one," James says.

Jessie and James nod their heads

"The Crimson Streak, huh? That's pretty cool," Mew says.

Suddenly, someone says, "It used to be."

Everyone turns to see the young boy with purple hair, wearing a black and orange shirt.

The student calls out, "Don't say that!"

Then Muramasa says, "That's Shingo, my top student. Perhaps you could, interest him in a Pokemon battle."

"Sure I would like to have a battle," Mew says.

She then turns to Shingo, "My name is Mew, from Pallet Town. It's nice to meet you, Shingo. Where's your from?"

Shingo sits down and says, "Let's see." and opens her computer, "From Pallet Town. Mew."

"Uh what are you doing there?" Mew asks.

Soon, Mew's trainer info comes up on Shingo's computer.

"Hey, that's me!" Mew says.

"Let me see," Misty says.

"Me too," Tomo says.

"I wanna see too," Jen says.

Then Brock asks, "What is it?"

"This is my Trainer File. It has statistics and other important information on noteworthy trainers going back five years. This has everything I need to know about their Pokemon and their strategies," Shingo explains.

Muramasa simply turns away while Team Rocket listens in on the conversation.

Jessie asks, "Hear that?"

"Loud and clear," Jessie says.

Meowth says, "It's obvious what we gotta do."

Team Rocket dashes away.

"It's time Team Rocket entered the high tech world of information," James says.

Then Meowth says, "If we could download the data from that kid's hard drive, we'd have the inside scoop on all the top trainers, and their Pokemon!"

"That way we'd know exactly who to battle and how to battle," James says.

Meowth and Jessie happily say, "Yay!"

Then Jessie asks, "Uh, what does download mean?"

James and Meowth just sweat drop in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Shingo looks at Mew's info.

Shingo looks at the information and says, "According to my data, you're a type A to S trainer. You have various different Pokemon and strategize on what Pokemon will fit with the battle. And even use very standard attacks. Of course, it's quite unusual to see your Eevee able to use Thunderbolt in the battle it participated in.

"He's got that right," Misty says.

"You're also prone to making rash decisions and relying on your hunches," Shingo continues.

"I'd say that's fairly accurate," Brock says.

Meanwhile, Jessie is still spying on the event, "He's still there. He's working on his flaptop."

Jessie notices that James and Meowth aren't with her. In fact, they're on the ground with a cable in their hand.

"Once we download all that kid's data…" Meowth says.

Then Meowth says, "We'll know all the best trainers with the strongest Pokemon and how to beat em!"

Jessie jumps down to them and says, "If you two need any tech support, I'm right here."

Meanwhile, Shingo continues to look at Mew's data.

Shingo says, "I remember you now. You're the trainer who won the Indigo Plateau, and you're considered the youngest trainer to ever win it. And had a Charizard who mega evolved as well. It's an interesting match."

Mew blushes and says, "Um thanks. I guess you must've been at the stadium."

"Nah. I just hook up my modem and download the files. You know, you were pretty lucky to win the Pokemon League at such a young age at such a big competition," Shingo says.

Mew blushes, "Thanks. I feel really proud of myself and my Pokemon because we worked so far to get where we are. I've gotten stronger since then, but still have a lot to learn."

"And don't forget, Mew also won the Orange League," Tomo says.

"Ah yes, I remember. I saw it as well on how she was able to defeat Drake. Of course, it was a very close win. Drake's Dragonite was the strongest of his Pokemon, so it's surprising to see you being able to defeat him," Shingo says.

"Wow. You really have known a lot about me," Mew says. "But if you really want to get to know me, maybe we should battle." She then gets up and says, "C'mon, let's battle and I'll show ya!"

"Sorry, my data says there's a fifty chance that you'll lose, but with my data you'll probably lose," Shingo says.

Confused, Mew says, "But don't you want to battle. I mean, it's probably better to experience it than simply looking at your computer.

But then one of the students say, "It may be hard to believe, Mew, but Shingo's probably right. The stuff on his computer says he'd beat all of us. And he did."

"Okay, but so what?" Mew says, confused.

"There's no reason for me to have Pokemon battles anymore," Shingo says.

"Really?" Mew says, confused.

Shingo explains, "With all the information I have at my fingertips, I know a lot more about trainers and their Pokemon then I could ever learn by battling them. If you want me to battle so much, teacher, find me an opponent who can teach me something I don't already know. Excuse me." and walks away. Mew is rather confused about it.

Later, Mew and her friends are having lunch with Muramasa.

Muramasa explains the situation with Shingo, "Shingo has had this attitude for nearly a year, now. He says he can learn everything he needs to learn from that Pokemon database he has. He studies facts and figures, numbers and statistics. He claims he can predict the outcome of any battle, so he says battling is unnecessary."

"Sounds like he cares more about predictions than he does about Pokemon," Brock says.

"He's lost his way. He has forgotten the true spirit of Pokemon and he needs someone to challenge him, make him battle, and get him away from that computer," Muramasa says.

Outside, Masamune slices through sheaves of hay like a katana.

Mew then says, "Well, maybe I should battle him. Pokemon battles are about more than just data and information, they're about you and your Pokemon working as a team and caring about each other! You'll see. I'll figure out some way to get him away from that computer screen and into a real Pokemon match!"

"I thank you, Mew. I sensed from the moment I met you that you were someone I could depend upon," Muramasa says.

Meanwhile, up in his room, Shingo looks at more information on his computer.

Soon, Mew shows up, "Hey, whatcha doing?"

"What do you want?" Shingo asks.

"Well, I thought you might change your mind and have a battle with me," Mew says. "We'll make it a one on one battle. We can have a real rumble."

However, Shingo refuses, "I already told you, there's no reason for me to have Pokemon battles anymore. I know all about you and I have the data to defeat trainers who are better than you. As long as I have my computer, I don't even have to battle. I win without leaving my laptop."

"Oh come on. Wouldn't you like to battle again, like you used to. I'm sure your Pokemon could use a little training," Mew says. "One little battle's not gonna kill ya, is it? It'll be fun."

While Mew and Shingo have their backs turned, Meowth sneaks in and plugs a cable into one of the ports.

Meanwhile, Shingo refuses, "I told you, you don't stand a chance."

"Well, you never know. You might learn something new from ourbattle," Mew says.

" He won't suspect a thing," Meowth says, quietly.

Then picks his head out the window, "Okay, go!"

Jessie and James get to work.

"We're logged on," James says, holding the laptop

Then Jessie says, "It's time to download."

Then Jessie suddenly starts pulling the cable.

James panics, "Wait, Jessie! What are you doing?!"

"What does it look like? I'm downloading his whole computer!" Jessie says and continues pulling on the cable.

Up in the room, because Jessie is pulling the cable, it pulls Shingo's laptop out the window an

Meowth quickly flies out to catch it, "I got it!"

Meowth lands hard on the ground below and is dragged along with the laptop, until something stops him. That something is Masamune, and proceeds to cut the cable as Jessie and James soon discover it. And the two decide to check to see what's going on.

Jessie first calls it out, "Alright, Meowth!"

"What's the big i…" James asks.

However, they soon see Meowth trapped in Masamune's clutches in a panic.

Back in Shingo's room, Mew and Shingo hear their screams.

"I just heard somebody screaming!" Shingo says.

"Sounds like trouble," Mew says.

Outside, Team Rocket is shaking in fear at the stare of Masamune. Mew and the others rush to investigate.

"What a surprise," Mew says sarcastically.

"What are you three after this time?!" Brock demands.

"Only his data," James says, frightened.

"Let's just battle for it," Jessie says, and throws her Pokeball, "Arbok! Weezing!"

James does the same, "Here we go again!"

Soon all of Team Rocket's Pokemon come out.

Then Shingo notices his laptop, "My computer!"

Shingo goes to retrieve it, but sees Arbok coming at him.

Muramasa calls out, "Masamune!

Masamune acts fast and tackles Arbok before it can attack Shingo.

Shingo turns to the three and demands, "Who are you three, anyway?!"

And soon, Team Rocket performs the motto.

Jessie:

Prepare for trouble like you've never seen!

James:

This is real life, kid. This ain't on your screen!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation!

James:

To unite all people within our nation!

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie:

Jessie.

James:

James.

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of Light!

James:

Surrender now, or prepare to fight.

Meowth:

That's right!

"So, you're Team Rocket. What did you come here for?" Shingo questions.

"We came for that Pokemon info," Jessie says

"Your database is just what we need to pick the Pokemon we want to steal," James says.

"Oh, yeah?!" Shingo says.

"Pikachu! Eevee! Let's stop em!" Mew says.

"Pika!" (Gotcha!) Pikachu says.

"Eeevee!" (You got it!) Eevee says.

"Shingo, I'll take Jessie and you take…" Mew says, but stops to notice Shingo is looking up Team Rocket on his computer.

Shingo says, "Jessie, James and Meowth."

"Uh Shingo, now's not the time," Mew says.

But Shingo says, "I don't have anything in my database about you."

"Nothing on me?!" Jessie questions shocked.

James says, "There has to be some kind of mistake!

Sweating drops, Brock asks, "My name's in there, isn't it?"

"I double checked and there's no mention of any of you anywhere," Shingo says.

Suddenly, Jessie says, "Did you hear that, James? Whiz Kid doesn't have the world famous Team Rocket in his database.

"Imagine not including us in a Pokemon who's who," James says.

Then Meowth says, "Unthinkable."

"Are they really that important?" Shingo asks.

"No, not really," Misty says.

"Not at all," Brock says.

"In the most wanted list," Mew says.

"Yeah. Those three are just crooks," Jen adds.

"And they keep following us trying to steal Pikachu and Eevee, and our Pokemon too," Tomo says.

"Who asked you?!" Jessie angrily says.

Then says with a smirk, "I'd be ashamed if I had made such a glaring omission. Wouldn't you?"

"Absolutely mortified, Jessie," James says.

"It's cat-astrophic," Meowth says.

That has Shingo surprised, "Whoa! Are you saying my data files are incomplete?!"

"It's obvious," Jessie says.

Then James says, "We couldn't trust a flawed source of information."

"The bottom line is, it ain't even worth stealing," Meowth says.

Then the three begin laughing.

That causes Shingo to snap, "I'll show you! My data file is perfect!" And gets out his Pokeball, "Now I'll show you why you don't belong there!"

Mew and the others become surprised and can't believe that Shingo even HAS a Pokeball

"Do it!" Muramasa calls out.

Shingo laughs and throws his Pokeball, "Go!"

Coming out of Shingo's Pokeball is another Scizor, worrying Team Rocket

Meowth panics, "It's back!"

Jessie and James cry out, "Not again!"

"Wow. you got a Scizor too, Shingo. Just like your teacher," Mew says.

"Blade is my most powerful Pokemon. It's faster, sharper, stronger and lasts longer than the teacher's Scizor, and it's never been defeated in battle," Shingo says. He then puts this down and flips on the camera of his computer.

Then says, "Get ready, Blade. After their first attack, I'll run a complete analysis on those trainers."

"I've already had analysis!" James calls out.

Curious, Misty asks, "How's he going to use his laptop during a battle?"

"I'm ready when you are," Shingo says.

Jessie calls out, "You little dweeb!"

"We'll teach you, you techno-geek!" James says.

Then Jessie calls out, "Arbok, Lickitung, clean out his hard drive!"

"Weezing, Victreebel, Tackle attack!" James says.

Then Meowth joins the battle, "I'll show him my Fury Swipes!"

"Reaction speed, 0.34. To Blade, that's like standing still," Shingo says, reading his data.

Meanwhile, all of Team Rocket's Pokemon charge in.

Meowth shouts, "Here we come!

Then Shingo calls out to Blade, "Okay! Quick Attack will do it!"

Blade charges with amazing speed.

"It's fast!" Brock says, surprised.

And Tomo says, "And strong!"

Blade effortlessly dashes through the five Pokemon, knocking them out with one hit, and sends all five of them flying with the rest of Team Rocket.

Meowth screams, "We're blasting…"

And Jessie and James cry out, "Off again!"

And soon, Team Rocket is gone.

"See? Battle over," Shingo says, and gets up.

Muramasa says to Shingo, "Excellent work. It's good to see you in battle again."

Shingo tries to walk away, but Mew gets in front of him and says, "I knew I was right about you! It's a waste for you not to battle more, Shingo!"

"What are you talking about?" Shingo asks.

"Come on Shingo, you did good out there. You have to admit that," Mew says.

However, Shingo doesn't look convinced.

"You see. I'm always trying to get stronger, but in order to do that, I need to keep battling with stronger trainers. It kind of goes for a lot of trainers to be honest,

However, Shingo says, "Well, that's the waste. Data predicts everything."

"Not always," Mew says.

That makes Shingo confused.

"You see, there are many different kinds of trainers, and the same goes for their Pokemon so the date in your computer doesn't predict how a battle can predict the trainer. Sometimes, you'll end up running into something unexpected and you'll have to go with your wits and make difficult decisions to win. If you battled more instead of sitting glued to that screen all day, you'd know that!" Mew says.

Shingo begins to think.

Mew says, "Of course, sometimes in order to learn more about opponents is to battle against them. You seem to know about me, so why not have a battle with me. Who knows, you might learn something from this experience.

Shingo calmly smiles with a chuckle and says, "All right. Mew."

Soon, both trainers are on the battlefield, ready to battle.

Muramasa says, "Each trainer will only use one Pokemon! Shingo has chosen Blade, Mew chooses…"

Mew gets out her Pokeball, "I choose, Heracross!"

Heracross comes out of the Pokeball as Shingo opens his laptop.

"Scizor's strengths are speed and attack power, so Mew is using Heracross because it's fast and puts up a great defense," Brock says

"It's just like Mew to use her head in a challenge," Misty says.

"Heracross. That's the obvious choice," Shingo says.

Then Muramasa calls out, "Begin!"

"This should be a good one!" Mew says.

Then Shingo calls out, "Alright, Blade, Quick Attack!"

Blade charges.

Mew calls out, "Heracross, give your Leer attack a try!"

Heracross' eyes glow red.

Shingo reads the data on his computer, "Response to command, 0.29. This battle shouldn't take very long. Increase attack speed, Blade!"

Blade starts to go so fast that it looks like it's making duplicates of itself.

"That's fast!" Misty says.

Brock says, shocked, "Too fast! There's no time for Leer to work!"

Soon, Blade strikes Heracross.

"Heracross!" Mew calls out.

Then Shingo says, "At this speed, Blade's Quick Attack delivers three times more damage than normal. If you had my data, you'd already know that."

"We'll just see about that!" Mew says.

Then calls out, "Heracross, try to get up!"

Heracorss gets up as Blade lands.

Shingo calls out, "Let's end this. Use your Metal Claw."

Blade claw starts to glow as it grabs Heracross by the horn.

"Come on, Heracross! You can do it!" Mew calls out.

Then Shingo calls out, "Alright, Blade, lift it up now!"

Blade then lifts Heracorss with one claw.

"Now toss it," Shingo calls out.

Mew calls out, "Heracross, don't let it throw ya!"

As Blade lets go of Heracross on the way down, Heracross grabs Blade's claw, and lands on its feet, shocking Shingo.

Mew calls out, "Heracross, use your Horn Attack, now!"

Heracross charges in.

Shingo calls out, "Dodge it, Blade!"

Blade tries to dodge, but Heracross' Horn Attack manages to land, and leave a mark on Blade's body, just enough to make it drop to a knee.

"How?" Shingo says, shocked and looks at his computer, "0.18. I've never seen a defense like that! Impossible!"

"I bet THAT wasn't in your database, was it?!" Mew calls out.

Shingo types in his computer, "I'll do a quick analysis and have the computer choose my next attack."

"I learned to use my instinct in a Pokemon battle, and you don't learn guts online!" Mew says.

"Mew always battles on instinct," Misty says,

"Different trainers have different styles, that's what makes Pokemon battles so unpredictable," Brock says.

Then Mew calls the next attack, "Heracross, use your Take Down!"

Heracross charges for the attack as Shing's computer finishes the analysis.

"Yes!" Shingo says, and calls out, "Alright, Blade, use your Agility!"

Then Blade moves so quickly that it makes duplicates of itself.

"The perfect choice. Heracross doesn't have the speed to counter this attack," Shingo says.

Seeing Blade, Mew says, "This Scizor is even faster than I thought!"

"Now let's see your guy beat my data," Shingo says with confidence.

Heracross is growing concerned, but Mew calls out, "Don't try to chase after it, Heracross! Relax and let it come to you!.

Heracross then closes his eyes and relaxes, catching Shingo off guard.

"What's it doing? Why is it just sitting there?" Shingo questions, confused.

Then looks at his computer, "I better look into this."

"Great, Heracross, you're doing fine!" Mew says.

"Looks like Shingo is getting caught off guard," Tomo says.

"You're right. Shingo can't watch the battle and his computer at the same time!" Jen says.

Muramasa smiles and says, "He's starting to realize where his attention should be."

Brock then says, "Mew is really in tune with her Pokemon and she trusts her instincts. But Shingo's putting all his trust in his data instead of in himself!"

"Yeah, Lorelei from the Kanto Elite Four told us you have to rely on the strength from inside," Misty says.

Finally, Heracross opens his eyes and spots Blade.

Mew calls out, "Heracross, Fury Attack!"

Then Shingo calls out, "Crush it with your Metal Claw!"

Blade tries to attack Heracross, but Heracross is faster and strikes at Blade with full full force.

"Nice work, Heracross!" Mew cheers.

"No way!" Shingo exclaims in shock, and gets off of his computer, shocking everyone.

Blade finally falls.

Shingo calls out, "Blade, stand up! Stand! They can't win!"

And Blade is able to get up on its feet.

"It's on the ropes, Heracross! Let's finish it off, now!" Mew calls out.

Heracross goes on the attack as Shingo looks on with shock, "But how... It's moving faster than my data predicted!"

"There's a whole lot more to Pokemon than data!" Mew calls out to Shingo.

Then calls out to her Pokemon, "Let's win this, Heracross!"

Heracross charges.

Then Shingo calls out, "Keep on battling, Blade!"

Blade charges as well.

Soon, both Pokemon trade vicious blows, but Heracross sends Blade reeling with his horn.

Shingo calls out, "Blade!"

"This might be it," Mew says.

However, Blade quickly recovers.

"Nice recovery," Misty says

"What did you expect?" Shingo says, and calls out, "Blade, Quick Attack, now!"

Blade charges.

Then Mew calls out, "Quick, Heracross! Tackle attack!"

And Heracross counters Blade's attack

"Too slow!" Shingo says.

On cue, Blade counters Heroacross' attack and both Pokemon land on their feet.

"Your Scizor's a tough battler, Shingo!" mew says.

"Your Heracross is tough, too, Mew! But my buddy, Blade, will never give up!" Shingo says.

Mew nods and says, "We're not giving up either!"

Muramasa happily nods.

Then Shingo calls out, "Blade, Metal Claw!"

Blade charges in.

"Dodge it, Heracross!" Mew calls out.

Heracross ducks, to Shing's disbelief.

"Nice move, Heracross!" Mew says, and Heracorss lifts Blade up with his horn.

Shingo calls out, "Blade, use Agility!"

Blade takes to the sky and picks up speed.

Then Shingo calls out, "Finish it up with False Swipe!"

Blade dives down.

Mew calls out, "Stand your ground, Heracross!" and Heracross does just that

"We win!" Shingo says with confidence.

But Mew says, "Remember, with Pokemon, you can't predict anything!"

Blade's False Swipe lands, but Heracross shows no harm as it nullifies the attack.

"No way!" Shingo says, shocked.

"Told ya!" Mew says.

Blade is soon in midair.

Then Mew says, "Okay! Use your Horn Attack, Heracross!"

As Blade comes down, Heracorss catches it with his horn and tosses it up.

"Blade!" Shingo cries out, shocking everyone.

Soon, Blade comes down, knocked out and finally defeated.

Muramasa announces, "Mew wins the match!"

Mew says to Heracross, "Yeah! I knew you could do it!"

Shingo asks his Pokemon, "Blade, are you okay, buddy?"

Blade confirms it.

Then Muramasa approaches his student and asks, "Shingo. What about your computer?"

"I don't need it anymore. I forgot what real matches are like," Shingo says.

Then turns to Blade, "You were great. You battled very hard."

"Scizor," (Thank you.) Blade says with a nod.

Muramasa says, "Shingo's battling spirit has been restored, old friend. And I think ours has been, too."

Masamune agrees.

Mew walks to Shingo and says, "Thanks, Shingo. I sure learned a lot from you in that match."

"I think I learned more from you," Shingo says.

Then says, "I think I'll take some time and analyze our strengths and weaknesses without using this for a change. And after I do some more training…"

"Then we'll battle again," Mew says.

"Great," Shingo says, "But be careful, because I'll be a stronger trainer, next time."

"I hope I will be, too," Mew says.

Then the two trainers shake hands.

"I have a feeling that the next time you two meet, you and your Pokemon will be a whole lot stronger," Brock says.

"I can't wait for that match," Misty says.

Not only Mew has won the match by her persistence, she helped Shingo realize that facts and figures never give us the real story, only experience can do it. And soon, Mew and her friends say goodbye to Murasama, Masamuna, Shingo, Blade, and the other students as they continue their destination to Azalea Town.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are walking along, still battered and beaten from their defeat.

"I only wish that kid's computer had crashed instead of us," Meowth says.

All three sigh and say, "Looks like Team Rocket's limping off again."
