Pokemon Journeys (My Version)

Mew and her friends continue to make their journey to Azalea Town and the next Johto league. As they walk down the road of the woods, they begin to hear a strange sound.

"What do you think that spooky noise was?" Misty asks, warily.

"Is that a Hoothoot?" Tomo asks.

"No. That doesn't sound like one, and they're more active at night," Mew says

"Plus, it didn't sound like any Hoothoot I ever heard," Brock says.

Suddenly, the Pokemon hears something and looks up to see something overhead. Everyone looks up to see the mysterious figure too, but only for a second before it disappears.

"Did you see that thing?" Tomo asks.

"Skwov," (Sure did.) Skwovet says.

"What was it?" Misty asks.

"That was no Hoothoot," Mew says.

"I saw it, alright! It was a Gligar!" Brock says.

"It's a Gligar alright," Mew says and takes out her Pokedex.

Dexter says, "Gligar, The Fly Scorpio Pokemon. A Ground and Flying Type. Gligar uses the cape-like wings on its back to glide from tree to tree quickly and quietly."

"Dexter forgot to mention scarily," Misty says.

Then Brock says, "Gligar are supposed to be pretty temperamental and I heard they don't like humans too much, either."

"Well, maybe not all of them. I met a few wild Gligar once, and we get along just fine," Mew says.

"I think it's because you get along with a lot of Pokemon," Mew says.

Suddenly, everyone falls into a pit and crashes into the ground.

"How'd this get here?!" Jen asks, shocked.

"Team Rocket, who else," Mew points out.

And right on cue, they hear Team Rocket right now.

Jessie:

We dug a hole to give you trouble!

James:

Then we dug some more to make it double!

The group look up to see that Team Rocket, Jrssie and James are holding a bamboo cage.

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation!

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation!

And covers it so the group can't escape.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Then Meowth brings some kind of pump

Jessie (tightening a headband):

Jessie!

James (tightening a headband):

James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James:

Surrender now or prepare to fight!

Meowth:

Meowth, dat's right!

Soon, Jessie and James begin to pump the pump. And soon enough, water sprays on the group.

Meowth laughs, "Glad you dropped into our little watering hole, cause we're gonna fill it all the way up till you float to the top!" and continues laughing.

James chuckles, "But before you do, we'll pluck out your little Pikachu.

"That's what you think, but I've got news for you losers, cause you're the ones who dug a hole for yourselves and now you're in for the shock of your lives!" Mew says.

Then calmly says, "Metaphorically of course because it's dangerous to use electric attacks down here."

"You got a point. If Pikachu attacks, the water will conduct electricity and we'll get electrocuted!" Brock says.

Soon, Jessie says, "Come on! The sooner we start pumping, the sooner the twerps can get into the swim of things.

Soon, Jessie and James continue to pump the water and spray it on everyone. Suddenly, Togepi and Pichu fall into the water and are starting to drown.

Misty cries out, "Togepi! Pichu

Suddenly, coming from the sky, a Gligar appears. It performs a dive bomb into the bamboo cage, creating a hole. Then darts out with Togepi and Pichu.

"Hey, what was that?" Tomo asks.

Soon, Gligar lands on the branch of the tree as it brings the little Pokemon to safety. Suddenly, they hear a laugh coming from the trees. Then some masked man in a purple, blue Gligar like costume appears.

The masked man says, "RELEASE THEM AT ONCE, YOU EVILDOERS!"

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Team Rocket asks, surprised.

Mew and the others call out, "YEAH!"

The masked man announces, "I'm the protector of the unprotected, the defender of the undefended, the champion of the righteous and the sworn enemy of all evildoers everywhere! With Gligar at my side I fight every foe of goodness, and I am known far and wide as... GLIGARMAN!"

"What's a Gligarman?" Team Rocket question.

Mew giggles, "He's kind of funny."

"He makes a nice entrance though," Brock says.

Jessie turns to James, "Heard of him?"

"No. Never," James answers.

Gligarman stumbles in disbelief.

Then Meowth asks, "Why ya wearing long unda-wear?"

"I'M NOT WEARING LONG UNDERWEAR, I'M A SUPERHERO!" Gligarman answers.

"Your personal hygiene choices are your own, but I'd prefer not to know about them," Jessie says.

Then James says, "You can't be a superhero, they're not real."

"And if they was real, I don't tink they'd be look quite as lumpy as you do," Meowth says.

Offended, Gligar man says, "How dare you! Of course I'm a superhero! Just look at this action pose!"

Then the man and Gligar do a pose.

Misty seems to think so, "He did save Togepi, so maybe he is a superhero after all!"

"I agree. Anyone who is willing to rescue Pokemon from danger is okay in my book," Mew says.

Gligarman feels pleased, "Ah! Someone has faith in Gligarman. And what is your name, young ladies?"

"My name's Misty, Gligarman. And this is my friend, Mew," Misty says.

"Well, Miss Misty, this just happens to be your lucky day!" Gligarman says.

Then turns to his Gligar, "Alright, Gligar, go and dispense with that trio of troublemakers!"

With that, Gligar dives down and latches onto Jessie's face. That causes Jessie to flain and stomp around in a panic. Jessie is freaking out that sen ends up attacking her teammates in the process. Jessie continues to panic and James keeps trying to get her to calm down.

Finally, James shouts, "Let me... hold still!"

Finally, Jessie stops moving and whimpers, "Okay."

Then James approaches it from behind, "Now, let's see."

However, Gligar starts to growl and points its stinger at James.

Gligarman says, "Though you are my foe, I must warn you about Gligar's tail sting."

James stumbles back, "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Meowth, you help her!"

"Never fear, Jessie! Meowth's Fury Swipes will save you!" Meowth says.

He then jumps up and performs the attack, but Gligar moves out of the way and accidently uses Fury Swipe on Jessie's face.

Seeing the results, Mew and the others reply, "Uh oh."

Furious and in pain, Jessie begins attacking Meowth, "What do you think you're doing?! Are you insane?! Look what you've done to my face! Now I'll give you a Scratch attack you'll never forget!"

Just then, Gligar comes right back, causing Team Rocket to run away.

Jessie panics, "Not the face! Not the face! Anything but the face!"

"It's behind me and it's not my face I'm worried about!" James panics as he carries Meowth.

When Team Rocket is gone, Gligar returns to the tree branch and its super heroic trainer.

Gligarman says, "Well, Gligar, virtue is safe for another day! For we have proven once again that when Gligarman's here, criminals fear! Strike the pose!"

Soon, Gligarman and Gligar perform their pose. Togepi and Pichu do the same.

Soon, Mew and her friends climb out of the hole.

Misty calls out, "Gligarman, how can I ever thank you enough for rescuing Togepi and Pichu?"

"There's no need to thank me, Miss Misty. Rescuing is Gligarman's business," Gligarman says.

He picks up the little Pokemon, "Gligar jump!"

Gligarman takes to the sky, amazing everyone, but embarrassingly crashes down the hard way. Gligarman still manages to keep Togepi and Pichu safe from hitting the ground.

"Uh, you need work on the jumping," Misty says.

Gligarman stands up and says, "Ahem. For you."

Thanks again," Misty says and picks up her little Pokemon.

Then Gligarman dashes towards the forest, "Alley-oop!"

In seconds, Gligarman comes out on a supped-up motorcycle.

"My friends, should the forces of evil ever plague you again, all you have to do is use this and I shall be at your side in a heartbeat!" Gligarman says.

Gligarman then tosses the group a whistle, which Brock catches.

"And now, if you'll excuse us, Gligar and I must help those in trouble elsewhere. Let's go, Gligar!" Gligarman says, and Gligar lands on his shoulder.

Then Gligarman rides off his motorcycle. And soon, they travel yonder as Brock looks at what Gligarman gives them.

"It's a whistle," Brock says.

Looking at the whistle, Mew says, "Reminds us of a person we know who carries an emergency safety whistle."

Suddenly, someone calls out, "Hey! Hey, there!"

Everyone turns to see a young girl riding on a bike, and she screeches to a stop on her bicycle. She has purple hair, a long sleeve shirt, and orange boots.

The young girl asks, ""You didn't happen to see Gligarman by any chance, did you?"

"Yeah, he was just here," Misty says.

"And left before you arrived," Mew adds.

Then the girl apologizes, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I hope he didn't cause too much trouble."

"He didn't cause any trouble. In fact, he saved my Togepi and Pichu from drowning," Misty says.

"Thank goodness," The young lady says.

Brock soon goes all lovestruck again and takes her hand, "Speaking of goodness, I think you're great. What's your name?"

"Uhhhh, it's Latoya," The girl introduces herself.

"I'm Brock," Brock says and takes the girl's hand.

"Could you let go of my hand?" Latoya asks.

But Brock says, "I'll let go of your hand if you let me hold onto your heart forever and ever and ever and..."

Misty then grabs Brock's ear and tugs him away, "Keep talking like that and Gligarman's gonna have to come and rescue you."

Mew approaches Latoya and says, "You seem pretty interested in this Gligarman guy. Do you know him or something?"

"Well, sort of," Latoya answers.

Then Jen asks, "Is he really a superhero like he says he is?"

"I'm not sure there's a clear cut answer to that question. The only thing I can say for sure is he sometimes believes he's a real superhero," Latoya answers.

"Do you know Gligar-Man's true identity?" Tomo asks.

But Latoya says, "I'm sorry. I've probably said too much already. I've really gotta go!"

Then she dashes off on her bike, leaving the group behind.

"Seems like she's hiding something," Mew says.

"She is," Brock says, still blushing and having a funny face, "She's hiding feelings of love for her little Brocky-poo!

Tomo bluntly says, "The only feeling she's hiding is the feeling that you're an absolute nut-case."

Jen and the Pokemon nod in reply.

Later, Mew and the others enter the town both Gligarman and Latoya headed to. Once in the town, they find that Gligar is their local hero. Everyone calls out for sales like toys, souvenirs, and such.

Suddenly, Brock notices something and calls out, "Hey, look up there!"

Everyone looks up to see the building has the same Gligar symbol like the one on the whistle.

"Just like on the whistle!" Brock says.

Mew walks to one of the people and asks, "Is Gligarman really such a big deal here?"

"The biggest!" A male employee says.

Then the female employee says, "If you're looking for anything Gligarman, you came to the right place."

Soon, another employee begins to push them into the store, "Come on, don't be shy! Step right in and leave the crowd. Star shopping."

Soon enough, Mew and her friends enter the store to find Gligarman and Gligar products everywhere.

Suddenly, a familiar voice asks, "May I help you find something?"

Brock recognizes the voice, "I know that voice! I'm sure I do!"

Soon, everyone looks to see Latoya at the register.

Seeing the group, Latoya says, "Oh! Nice to see you again."

And Brock rushes over, "Latoya! I can't believe it! What a coincidence! Seems like we haven't seen each other in ages!"

"It must be at least fifteen minutes," Misty says.

Then Mew says, "Latoya, there's still a lot of things I want to know about Gligarman."

Suddenly, someone says, "I'll tell you everything about Gligarman! Or almost everything."

The group turns to see a grown man wearing a hat, a vest, button up shirt, jeans, and boots. The man walks towards the kids with a smile.

"Dad!" Latoya says.

Then the man says, "I'm the proud owner of this toy store. Mr. Parker. And you're in luck, because it just so happens I know all there is to know about our hometown superhero, Gligarman."

"Who is Gligarman?" Jen asks.

Mr. Parker holds up a remote, "Rather then tell ya, I'll show ya."

With a press of a button, a screen comes out.

"This oughta give you a pretty good introduction to the world of Gligarman!" Mr. Parker says.

Soon, a projector begins to show the film featuring the hero.

The narrator of the film says, "Look! Up in the sky! Is it a Pidgeotto? A Dragonite! No! It's the crime fighting Pokemon superhero, Gligarman!"

Mew and the others watch in amazement.

Soon, the movie shows a giant insect in the city.

The narrator says, "Gligarman and Gligar, use your Gligar Kick!"

"Gligar!" Gligarman calls out.

Then with one kick, the giant monster bug falls down a cliff and is destroyed.

Narrator says, "Once again, justice triumphs, thanks to Gligarman!"

Soon, the film ends.

"I guess it's pretty easy to see why Gligarman's so popular here," Mr. Parkers says.

Then Tomo asks, "How come the Gligarman we saw in the woods didn't look like the one we saw in the movie?"

Mr. Parker calms himself, "Ahem, the movie was made several years ago."

"How many? Twenty?" Mew asks.

Soon, Mr. Parker begins to give the group some stuff, "Here, have a Gligarman cookie, and a Gligarman cape and a Gligarman mask. There. Just like the real Gligarman."

Just then, Togepi tugs on Mr. Parker's pants getting his attention. Soon, Togepi and Pichu perform the same pose.

Suddenly, Misty has her suspicions, "I've got a sneaking suspicion that you're the real Gligarman."

Mr. Parker flinches, "That's utterly ridiculous, Misty! How in the world would you ever get the idea that I'm Gligarman?"

"Well, for one thing, Gligarman's the only person in town who knows my name's Misty," Misty says.

"And you sound like him," Tomo says.

Mr. Parker starts to get nervous. Then, Mew removes his hat and puts the Gligarman mask on him. Seeing him with the mask, they realize that it's true.

"It really is you!" Jen says, surprised

Brock then takes Mr. Parker's hand, "Hey, it's an honor to meet you, Mr. Gligarman. My name's Brock and I'm a super fan of yours and I was wondering if I could ask your super daughter for a super date."

Then Tomo asks, "Hey, Gligarman, do you have superpowers and super cool equipment and a super secret Gligar Cave you live in?"

"You can't let anyone know Gligarman's true identity, do you hear me? You must keep my secret," Mr. Parker says.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket watches them from outside, and has heard the conversation

"So, Gligarman ain't a superhero, he's a guy who owns a toy store," Meowth says.

Then James says, "That shopkeeper made fools out of everybody!"

"We've got to do something to punish this imposter!" Jessie says, "We must fight to uphold the integrity of costumed action figures everywhere! Fellow supervillains, join forces with me to unmask this charlatan!"

"Supervillains? I don't see any supervillains," James says, confused.

Meowth then asks, "Who you talking to, Jess?"

Jessie furiously says, "I'm talking to you! You're the supervillains!"

We didn't know that! James and Meowth panic and soon find themselves dressed as Metopods.

"If toy boy wants to play superhero, fine. Let's see how he handles some Team Rocket super trouble," Jessie says and laughs wickedly.

Meanwhile, up on a ledge and in a cave, far from the city

"Before I show you around the Gligar Mansion, you must promise never to reveal its secrets," Mr. Parker says.

"I won't say anything," Misty says.

"Me, neither," Mew says.

"My lips are sealed," Brock says.

"We promise," Jen says.

"Your secret is safe with us," Tomo says.

Soon, the group is on board the elevator.

"Gligarman is the champion of truth and defender of the weak. That is Gligarman's reason for being," Mr. Parker says.

Then Latoya says, "But my father originally invented Gligarman for a different reason."

"What was that?" Misty asks.

Latoya then explains, "Back when papa first opened the store, he wasn't selling very many toys. So he invented Gligarman, made some action figures, and wore a Gligarman costume to advertise them. Gligarman became so popular, that he made new toys and new stories to go with him. Then, at some point, he became Gligarman."

Then Mr. Parker says, "One day, I realized that being a superhero was a lot more fulfilling than just being a business man."

"Well, maybe, but I wish you'd go back to just selling toys," Latoya says.

But Mr. Parker says, "I'll never do that, Latoya! People need a Gligarman to depend on and to look up to."

Soon, the elevator stops.

"We've arrived at Gligarman's secret laboratory," Mr. Parker says.

Soon, the doors open to reveal a high tech room, with different machines and monitors.

"Wow!" Mew says.

"It's cool," Tomo says.

Soon, they see Gligar flies towards Mr. Parker, and the man allow it to perch on him.

Latoya pets Gligar on the head, "Nice, Gli."

"Awesome!" Brock says.

"I've never seen anything like this before!" Misty says.

"This place is so cool," Tomo says.

"You must have the best job in the whole world, Gligarman, because you get to be a superhero, you own a toy store, and you have a really cool Pokemon," Mew says, amazed.

Then Latoya suggests, "Maybe you'd like to take the job yourself."

"You seem smart, and you like Pokemon. Maybe I could train you for a few years and you can take over when I'm gone," Mr. Parker says.

Shocked, Mew says, "You mean me replace you?! It's really nice of you to offer, but I already have my heart set on being a Pokemon master."

"Okay. It's just that, I don't really have any family to carry on the Gligar tradition," Mr. Parker says.

"What are you talking about?" Latoya asks.

"You know very well what I'm talking about. I need someone who wants Gligarman to live on after me," Mr. Parker says.

Then Brock says, "If you'd permit me to be Gligarman two, I'd assume responsibility for the Gligarman legacy, the toy store, and your daughter and you could move to a planned retirement community."

"Oh, Brock. Why can't you ever be serious?" Latoya asks.

The words end up crushing Brock completely.

"There's the Brock we know and love," Misty sheepishly says,

"Is he okay? Latoya asks.

"Oh, don't worry. Brock's used to getting his heart stomped on," Misty reassures.

Mew turns to Mr. Parker, "I would like to know a little more about Gligar, though."

Gligar lifts off and lands on the jungle gym.

"Gligar, why do you always have to be so impolite?" Latoya asks in a stern tone.

Then Mr. Parker says, "Gligar may have a lot to learn in the manners department, but it's a great Pokemon that only wants to fight for the right and help people who are really in trouble."

Gligar does it and performs the action pose.

"Believe you me, it's an honor to be Gligar's partner," Mr. Parker says.

Suddenly, a strange sound appears.

"What?!" Jen asks.

"There must be some kind of trouble! Somebody's blowing the Gligar whistle!" Mr. Parker says.

Everyone head to the monitor to see someone blowing the whistle and reveal what's going on

"My store's under attack!" Mr. Parker says.

Then turns to his Pokemon, "Gligar, they need us!"

Then Mr. Parker rushes off,

"Let's go help em, guys!" Mew says.

Pikachu and Eevee agree.

"Mew, be careful!" Misty calls out.

Back at the store, Jessie laughs at her triumph, "Now let's see if your Gligarman comes to the rescue."

"See how you like wearing these silly costumes!" James says, and sticks the costume on one of the employees.

Meowth does the same.

Just then, Gligarman appears, "Okay, hold it right there!"

Team Rocket turn to see Gligarman, Mew, and her friends standing in the light

"How dare you ruin this store and terrorize these innocent people! Who are you?!" Gligarman says.

"We know em!" Tomo says.

"That's Team Rocket!" Jen says.

"Well, how nice of you to finally show up, Gligarman! And with the twerp in tow, too. You caught us with our guard up last time, but this time we're ready for you!" Jessie says.

Then calls out, "Go, Metapod Men!"

Then James charges in,

"Gligar, I choose you!" Gligar man calls out.

Gligar flies into battle and latches right onto James' face. James begins to freak out, trying to get Gligar off.

"We're gonna look like super losers if this keeps up!" Meowth says.

Then Jessie says, "I think it's time to bring out the big bug!"

"Now you're talking!" Meowth says, and dashes off.

Then comes back out with a Spinarak robot, shocking her group, including Gligarman.

Soon, Meowth says, "This Mecha-Spinarak ain't no toy!"

Then, it sprays silk and traps Gligarman, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee.

Jessie laughs, "Take him outside and reveal his secret!" and continues laughing.

The Mecha-Spinarak takes the defenseless Gligar and Mew and the others out into the street.

"Hey! Let us out of this!" Mew shouts.

Soon, Meowth makes the Mecha-Spinarak hang them high and dry on the top of the sculpture in the center of town.

Jessie chuckles, "Now we're going to show everyone who you really are."

"Come on! We just gotta get free!"

Jessie says in triumph, "Watch as we finally unmask Gligarman!"

We don't have much time!" Mew says.

Soon, the employees run out of the store.

Each of them calls out, "Mr. Parker! Hang in there, Mr. Parker! We have faith in you, sir!"

In his thoughts, Gligarman is surprised, "They know! They knew I was Gligarman all along."

The employee calls out, "Mr. Parker!"

Just when all seems lost, another voice appears, "I'll help you, Gligarman!"

Up above, on the tip top of the clock tower, there is another costume character.

"Who's she?" Mew asks.

"Uh oh!" Meowth replies.

"What do you want here?! We're busy!" Jessie demands.

Soon, up above, there is a female who is dressed like Gligarman.

The female hero announces, "Evildoers will never prevail! Not as long as there's...Gli-girl!"

"Who could she be?" Mew asks.

Everyone else runs out in shock to see the female hero, Gli-girl make an appearance.

"Wow! Now that's what a superhero should look like!" Misty says.

Brock happily says, "Gli-girl's strong, good and beautiful, just like Latoya."

"She looks cool," Tomo says.

"She's amazing," Jen says.

Gli-girl says, "Gligar, it's time we taught these villains a lesson!"

Gligar is confused to see the female hero.

Then Gli-girl says, "I need you. Help me."

Soon enough, Gligar realizes that Gli-girl is really Latoya. With that, Gligar flies to her side, and give each other a hi-five

"First thing's first, Gligar, swoop down there and cut them out of that cocoon!" Gli-girl says.

With that, Gligar swoops down and cuts the cocoon, freeing Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, and Gligarman.

"Hey!" Jessie cries out.

Soon, Everyone lands on their feet, but Gligarman lands on the ground.

"We may not be superheroes, but you three are super zeroes! Go, Eevee, use Quick attack!"

Eevee then uses Quick Attack to dash around Team Rocket.

Jessie calls out, "Meowth, hurry! Get it! Stop it!

"My legs, is getting scrambled!" Meowth cries out.

Finally, the Mecha-Spinarak stumbles and is defeated.

James shouts, "James, catch that Eevee!"

James then leaps down to catch Eevee.

But Gli-girl comes down and says, "Gligar, stop them with your Poison Sting attack!"

Gligar then performs a Poison sting at James, causing him to run away.

Jessie then shouts, "Meowth! Stop that Gligar with your Spinarak spray!"

"Okay, I'll try!" Meowth says.

He manages to get the robot back up, and launches the attack.

Then Gli-girl says, "Gligar, use Swift attack, now!"

Gligar launches Swift Attack, and stops the spray.

"Quick, Pikachu, use Thunderbolt attack!" Mew calls out.

Pikachu then uses his attack on the robot, enough to make it go haywire and attack Jessie and James, causing the two to run away.

Jessie screams, "Turn it off, Meowth!"

"We don't want to get stung!" James panics.

Meowth screams, "Can't stop! This thing just won't do!"

And soon, the Mecha-Spinarak explodes and sends Team Rocket blasting off, "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

Soon, Mew, Gli-girl, Pikachu, and Eevee elebrate.

With that, Mew and Gli-girl say, "Go Gligar!"

They, along with Pikachu, Eevee, and Gligar do Gligarman action poses. Everyone cheers and applauds. Back at town square, Gligarman is in tears of joy that his own daughter has taken over the super hero life.

He says, "That's some daughter I have."

"Yeah, she sure is. Wonder where she disappeared to. They were here a minute ago," Brock says, and looks around.

Tomo and Jen look at Brock with dumbfounded looks.

Later that evening, Mew and the others plan to head out.

Mew asks, "What happened Latoya? What made you want to become Gli-girl?

"I don't know, Mew. I don't understand it myself, but when I saw my father in trouble, I automatically grabbed the costume," Latoya stays.

"Must be hereditary. She's got bravery in her blood," Mr. Parker says.

"And now that there's a new superhero in the family, papa can hang up his cape and retire," Latoya says.

However, Mr. Parker says differently, "What do you mean retire? I'm not ready to hang anything up, yet!"

"Then what'll I do, papa?" Latoya asks.

Then Mew has a suggestion, "Hey, why don't the two of you work together?"

"A father-daughter superhero team's not a bad idea," Latoya says.

Then she grabs Gligar and chuckles, "As long as I get to keep Gligar."

However, the father and daughter are now arguing over who gets to keep Gligar.

Soon, Brock realizes, "Hey, guys! I just figured out that Latoya is secretly Gli-Girl!"

"You're a little late for that," Jen says.

"Now, don't forget, Mew," Mr. Parker says.

"Yeah?" Mew replies.

"If you ever get into any trouble, just blow the Gligar Whistle and I'll be there," Mr. Parker says.

"You can count on it," Mew says.

Holding the whistle, Brock says, "That's good to know, sir, but if I get into trouble, how do I blow the whistle and Gli-girl to come instead?"
