Only I Walk Alone

Chapter 51 - Lone Walk Under the Moonlight

Without the suppression of the Divine Golden Essence Sword, the empty Underworld was eventually bound to head towards destruction.

Wu Ge rushed to the Underworld Gate, but the gate did not open.

It was easy to come, but difficult to leave. How many could walk the road of the Yellow Springs and return?

Wu Ge frowned deeply, thinking of a strategy. However, at this moment, the woman in white behind him suddenly waved her hand, and immediately, the iron gate cracked open slightly. The two of them quickly squeezed through the gap, and then, a deafening explosion sound came from behind them.

“Boom!”

The underworld exploded, the blast originating from its deepest reaches. Wu Ge and his companion flew quickly, so they were not affected, but the iron gate was directly shattered into pieces by the terrifying explosion, causing a massive collapse deep within this underground cavity.

Wu Ge flew out of the Underworld and immediately searched for his physical body, but found nothing. Could it be that, seeing I hadn’t returned for so long, my body was cremated?

Fortunately, Xiao Chao hadn’t done so. Wu Ge carefully sensed and soon found the direction of his physical body. He immediately flew on his sword and rushed into the elevator. The underground pit was beginning to collapse, so he had no choice but to fly out through the elevator shaft.

Wu Ge flew into the elevator, then turned upwards. The True Dragon’s Qi immediately surged into the body of the Divine Golden Essence Sword, and then, he flew up the elevator shaft at a terrifying speed.

“Boom!”

At this moment, this 10,000-meter-deep pit began to collapse due to the destruction of the Underworld. However, now Wu Ge was a Yin spirit out of his body, and the Divine Golden Essence Sword he controlled was powerful enough to destroy the falling rocks.

Wu Ge, with the help of the True Dragon’s Qi, spent a considerable amount of it but finally burst out of the ground and sensed his body being guarded by robots at a dig site.

He immediately flew towards his physical body, with the Divine Golden Essence Sword merging into his body. At that instant, all the robots in the room raised their weapons, seeing a streak of golden light merging into Wu Ge’s body.

The Divine Golden Essence Sword, unlike other ordinary weapons, could merge into a person’s soul. So, when not in use, it resided deep within Wu Ge’s soul, releasing a warm aura to nourish his soul.

In addition to this, hundreds of Netherworld Lotuses, dozens of Ghost Jades, and several kilograms of Netherworld Steel were also brought out by him. The moment he opened his eyes, these Netherworld Lotuses, Ghost Jades, and Netherworld Steel spilled out from his body and fell to the ground.

This was the rule of converting the virtual to real in action. But when Wu Ge opened his eyes, what he saw was a group of robots pointing their guns at him.

Wu Ge, upon opening his eyes, asked, “What happened?”

Xiao Chao’s voice came through: “Error, an error occurred, Wu Ge’s physical body has been invaded by an unknown entity… unable to understand the current situation, attempting to simulate… simulation failed, unable to confirm if the soul controlling Wu Ge’s body is Wu Ge.”

Wu Ge raised an eyebrow and asked, “What happened while I was away?”

Xiao Chao clearly could not comprehend how lotuses, jade pendants, and steel could emerge from a person’s body. It seemed there was confusion in its computer program, but fortunately, it had the ability to learn and correct its errors on its own.

Xiao Chao spoke: “Error correction… error correction successful, modifying related data, modification successful… welcome back, Wu Ge.”

The robots immediately put away their guns, relieving Wu Ge. He said, “These are from the Underworld, put them in the jade chamber, otherwise, they will lose their spirituality.”

Xiao Chao replied, “Request noted, executing now.”

Jade-crafted transport robots appeared and began to carefully transport these spiritual materials.

Then, Wu Ge said, “Prepare the battleship, I need to make a trip to the lunar base.”

Xiao Chao answered, “Request noted, preparing battleship… Please proceed to City 79, Platform 4 for boarding once preparations are complete.”

Wu Ge turned around, looking for the woman in white, but when he turned back, he saw nothing.

Gone?

Wu Ge immediately left the research station. As he stepped outside, he felt a slight tremor underfoot. The tremors from underground had just reached the surface. However, since the epicenter was ten thousand meters below, the tremors weren’t very noticeable by the time they reached the surface.

It was 2 a.m., and all the werewolves at the research station had fallen into slumber, unaware of Wu Ge’s return from the underworld, except for Xiao Chao.

The moon, with a piece missing, was setting. Walking under this moonlight, Wu Ge then saw a white figure appearing in the distance, walking alone under the moon, occasionally lifting her head to gaze at it.

“How beautiful!” she said.

Wu Ge walked over, and the woman looked at him, suddenly asking with confusion, “Who are you?”

Wu Ge was startled. Forgotten me again?

But a moment later, the woman seemed to remember something. She said, “You are human, your name is Wu Ge… I…”

The woman tilted her head, thinking for a long time, then finally said, “I am… they all call me Ghost Princess.”

Wu Ge said, “Didn’t you want to go to the moon? I can take you there.”

Ghost Princess lifted her head to look at the moon with a chunk missing. Although it was not as round or as large as during the 14th or 15th night, the moon was bright enough for Wu Ge to see the massive facilities on the lunar surface.

Ghost Princess said, “There’s no need. This is fine. I have come to the surface and seen the real moon. That is enough for me.”

At that moment, dark clouds suddenly gathered, casting a shadow over the moon. Ghost Princess slightly frowned, but soon, the clouds obscuring the moon gradually dispersed.

At the same time, snowflakes began to fall, each flake slowly descending, becoming exceptionally bright in the moonlight.

Dressed in white, Ghost Princess walked among these snowflakes. Gradually, her body began to sway.

Wu Ge did not follow her. He watched Ghost Princess walk alone under the moonlight, tiny snowflakes continuously falling to the ground, then melting. Ghost Princess continued to tread on the snowflakes, her body shaking and trembling, but she steadfastly moved towards the direction where the moon was setting.

No one knew why she was so fixated on the moon. She waited in the empty underworld for tens of thousands of years, perhaps just to see this bright moon on the surface one day.

Ghost Princess walked alone under the moon. Her figure gradually faded, and finally, she disappeared. No one knew where she went, nor if she would return.

But the image of her solitary moonlit walk was firmly etched in Wu Ge’s memory.

Translator Note:

It’s been a while, I had some problems with the PC and couldn’t repair it till now thus I couldn’t post anything but I’ve been working on the phone to have chapters made so there’s not a lot of progress lost. Sorry for the several months of no update but I will try to post as much as I can deliver.

A change has been made to a character’s name “Sister Mei > Sister Ya Yi“, for now, I will add the new chapters with the change and gradually go back to the older ones to apply it and modify so it won’t create confusion.
