Chapter 583: Let's Make a Deal (2)

There was nothing unexpected, seeing Millie talk about his nephew with a completely expressionless face, knowing that one of the dead was his nephew, he was not angry. It seemed their relationship was indeed not good.

Jimmy: "I understand, then let's stop here for today. If there are any other questions, I will contact you again."

Jimmy took Millie's testimony, left the home improvement company, and drove to Louis's house.

Both people in the warehouse yesterday were identified. One of them had a fingerprint verification that was correct, and the deceased was indeed Marco. So why were he and that Thomas shot dead in the warehouse?

There was no doubt Thomas must have been involved in a gang, but it's unclear which one. However, what he did was certainly not good, as can be inferred from his uncle Millie's attitude.

Looking at the route Louis took after leaving home yesterday, it was very likely he did not know Marco's location, which is why he looked for someone, and later found the warehouse with the help of Shi Qi and others.

Of course, it's also possible that he and Shi Qi had some special business, and they arranged for Marco to stay there.

Jimmy stood at the door of Louis's house, reached out and knocked, "FBI, open the door."

The woman from before opened the door, and Jimmy, wearing sunglasses, said with a cold face, "Call Louis out, I know he's home."

Apparently, Louis didn't run away, seeming sure there was no evidence to catch him.

The woman turned her head towards the room, Louis had already come out from the inside bedroom, "Agent Yang, may I ask if there's something else?"

Jimmy looked at Louis. His expression management was quite good, showing no sign of nervousness at all. Jimmy glanced at the child who came out with Louis, "Are you sure you want to talk here?"

Louis glanced back, then nodded at Jimmy, "Let's talk outside."

Jimmy and Louis went downstairs to a nearby alley. Jimmy looked at Louis and asked, "You're not carrying a weapon, are you?"

Louis: "What do you want to say?"

Jimmy: "Give me a reason."

Louis: "What reason?"

Jimmy: "The reason you killed Marco, and who are the three corpses in his home, exactly?"

Louis: "I don't know."

With his right hand, Jimmy swiftly drew a Glock, his left hand on his right, the Glock pressed against his abdomen, "Now, I'll give you one more chance, rephrase what you just said."

Louis still said nothing, and after waiting for several seconds without getting the result he wanted, Jimmy had no more patience, "Hands on your head, turn around."

Jimmy pointed the gun at Louis, giving the order, and Louis's face changed, "What do you want to do?"

Jimmy: "Turn around, hands on your head, you are under arrest for suspected involvement in the Morris warehouse shooting case."

Louis gritted his teeth, his cheeks twitched as if he wanted to say something, but in the end said nothing, directly turning around and putting his hands on his head, legs apart. Jimmy reached with his left hand, taking the handcuffs hanging from his belt, twisted Louis's arm behind him, and cuffed him.

Jimmy holstered the Glock, started searching Louis, and simultaneously read him the Miranda warning.

After a quick search, Louis didn't even have keys on him, let alone a weapon. There was only a mobile phone in his pocket.

Jimmy turned Louis around, "You think you handled it well, no evidence? We caught three live ones yesterday; you can have a good stay inside today."

Louis: "I want to notify my lawyer."

Jimmy: "We'll talk about it when we get to the bureau, let's go."

Jimmy put Louis in the car, drove him to the Manhattan office.

Louis sat in the back seat, silent, and Jimmy occasionally glanced at him through the rearview mirror. Louis's expression wasn't as stable as his actions, showing occasional twitches.

Jimmy judged from the situation that there was a chance, intentionally taking a detour, extending the time to return to the office.

Seeing they were approaching Chinatown, about to reach the Federal Square where the FBI office was located, Louis suddenly spoke, "I want to make a deal."

Jimmy: "What do you want?"

Louis: "What do you actually know?"

Jimmy: "Your entire route from yesterday, including the escape path. Who you met, who were the two people in the other car, which café you went to... Do you need me to report it to you bit by bit? Why do you think I came to catch you today?"

Louis, who had been sitting upright, slumped directly back into the seat upon hearing Jimmy's words.

Jimmy's account was too detailed, and although he was sure there were no surveillance cameras in the warehouse, the route was clear, with those caught as witnesses, he couldn't escape.

The reason for catching him specifically today was because the evidence was complete enough to ensure that all could be dealt with in one fell swoop, without worrying about arresting the wrong person.

Jimmy's words alone allowed him to deduce what evidence Jimmy had.

First was the detailed route, second were eyewitnesses. When they escaped yesterday, seven people ran out the back door. However, only the three who ran early got away, the remaining four couldn't be contacted, they must have been caught by the FBI.

These people weren't that tough; caught at the scene of the shooting, who had a firefight with FBI agents, if they didn't want to bear the murder charges, they'd certainly drag themselves down.

Attacking federal agents is punished less than murder charges; with combined charges, their lives would be over, spending their days dying in prison.

Additionally, attacking federal agents is a federal crime, so even if serving in prison, it has to be federal prison. These small-time gang members could easily find someone to follow in local prison, but not necessarily in federal prison. If something went wrong inside, no one could rely on them.

Louis: "What do you want to know?"

Jimmy glanced at the rearview mirror; Louis was in a sufficient state of giving up. It would be slightly inconvenient to handle this back at the FBI office now. It wasn't difficult to deal with Louis, but it was because of his meeting with Shi Qi.

Jimmy still didn't know what Shi Qi was up to, presumably someone from Ruiz's side, but were they going to protect Shi Qi? Ruiz hadn't mentioned it to Jimmy. If Louis entered the bureau, leaving a record, Shi Qi, who met with him, would also be implicated.

After thinking for a moment, Jimmy called Ruiz, "Ruiz, I've caught Louis, are you interested in coming over?"

Ruiz: "Not going back to the office?"

Jimmy: "He wants a deal."

Ruiz paused for a moment, "I understand, give me the location."

After thinking for a moment, if not going back to the office, it was simplest to go to the bar, no business now, nobody there. But going to the bar every time felt awkward, seemed it needed a proper place, maybe invest in a restaurant, get a private room for use.

Jimmy: "The bar."

After hearing and hanging up, Ruiz also turned at the front intersection back to the Upper West Side.

Jimmy opened the bar door, brought Louis in, turned on only the lights above the bar, and let Louis sit on one side.

Jimmy poured himself a glass of soda, refraining from drinking since he had business to handle.

Louis: "Can I get a glass of water?"

Jimmy glanced at him, fetched a cup and poured a glass, inserting a straw and placing it on the table in front of Louis. Louis's hands were still cuffed behind him, and Jimmy had no interest in uncuffing them now to avoid any accidents.

Soon, Jimmy noticed a car parked in front of the bar, but the person did not get out. After a while, another car came, with occupants of both cars getting out and walking together before entering the bar.

Ruiz led in front, followed by Shi Qi, who had been cuffed by Ruiz just before entering the door.
