Before long, Yagura's army arrived at the scene.
Mei Terumi took a deep breath, then stepped forward alone.
Facing her fellow villagers, she shouted in a deep voice:

The Mist shinobi fell silent. Without concrete proof, the Mizukage was still the Mizukage. No matter how bizarre his orders, they were bound to obey.
Besides, his orders had only targeted bloodline shinobi—why should they care?
Mei Terumi sneered again and looked behind her.
"Ao, it's your turn!"
A one-eyed man with an eyepatch stepped forward. Behind that eyepatch was the Byakugan he had taken from Hyūga Ao.
Turning back to the Mist shinobi, Mei Terumi shouted:
"You all know Ao's Byakugan can see the flow of chakra within a ninja."
"The Mizukage's chakra is chaotic—he's definitely being controlled!"
Yagura gave a cold laugh.
"That's your evidence? Ao is your subordinate—of course he'll say whatever you want."
Then he waved his hand again. "Kill these traitors!"
The Mist shinobi hesitated—Mei Terumi's reasoning had no real weight.
Seeing this, Yagura's tone grew sharper.
"Disobey my orders, and you'll be siding with Mei Terumi in her rebellion!"
Now the Mist shinobi had no excuse not to fight.
No matter what, Yagura was their Mizukage.
And aside from targeting bloodline shinobi, he had treated the rest of them well.
Their gazes toward Mei Terumi grew cold.
Without convincing proof, she was just an ambitious traitor.
Mei Terumi gritted her teeth.
"Damn it! Why won't you believe me?!"
She had confirmed Yagura was being controlled as soon as she returned from learning the truth from Kaede Uchiha.
But now, not a single Mist shinobi was willing to believe her—or those who did were too afraid to stand out.
Kaede chuckled, watching her struggle.
"This is your plan?"
"You really are young. Haven't I told you? In this world, strength is justice."
"When you're weak, even those who believe you won't dare stand openly at your side."
Mei Terumi bit her lip, frustration clouding her eyes.
Kaede stood slowly. "Let me teach you a lesson."
"Only by seeing real power will they believe your words."
Chakra solidified around him as his Susanoo's third form emerged.
This time, Kaede wasn't planning to play with these Mist shinobi.
He would end the fight quickly.
By now, Mei Terumi could no longer stop him.
Besides, this jinchūriki was one of the targets he had already claimed.
"All I ask is that you deal with Yagura—most of these Mist shinobi are innocent!" she pleaded.
Kaede smiled faintly. "Then pray for them."
Susanoo raised its blade and swung—an enormous wave of sword energy surged toward the Mist shinobi.
They cried out in shock. "Who is this? When did Mei Terumi have such a subordinate?!"
But the sword energy was already upon them—there was no time to think.
A dozen Mist shinobi leapt forward.
"Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall!"
More than ten earthen walls rose from the ground.
Some of the prepared elites immediately shouted orders.
"Scatter! Get out of the way!"
But before they could finish—
Rumble!
The sword energy smashed into the walls, slicing them clean in half.
Dozens of Mist shinobi were instantly exposed.
"Ah!"
"Help!"
Screams and cries for help filled the air.
In an instant, dozens lay dead.
Kaede frowned slightly. "The walls altered the sword's trajectory?"
He smirked. "Then let's get serious."
That first swing had been casual.
A heartbeat later, countless larger, sharper waves of sword energy erupted from Susanoo.
"Dodge!" someone screamed.
But they were far too slow.
The storm of sword energy swept over them from every direction, claiming the lives of more than a hundred Mist shinobi in moments.
"Enough!"
At last, Yagura himself stepped forward.
"Let me deal with you."
A staff tipped with a carved flower appeared in his hands.
Charging toward Kaede, his hands blurred through seals.
"Secret Technique: Rain Sever!"
Chakra-infused rain poured around him.
This Hidden Mist specialty could dissolve any ninjutsu it touched, at the cost of draining an equal amount of the user's chakra.
But as a jinchūriki, chakra was the last thing Yagura lacked.
And then—
His eyes widened. "What is this strange chakra?!"
Kaede sneered. "My Susanoo isn't something you can dissolve."
"Transform into the Three-Tails, or I'll lose interest in this fight."
Yagura narrowed his eyes, then obediently entered full tailed beast form. Dark red chakra cloaked him.
In the next instant, he vanished, charging at Kaede with incredible speed.
But to Kaede, he moved like a snail.
"Didn't I tell you to listen?"
Susanoo's blade swept out, swatting Yagura from the air.
"If you won't listen, then goodbye."
His eyes flared crimson.
