Kaede sneered.
"Why wouldn't I? It's not like this place is scary or anything."
He stood nonchalantly on a tree branch, as if this were just another casual day.
Cold sweat rolled down the leader's forehead.
Then, his eyes caught sight of Naruto and he urgently shouted:
"Lord Naruto, please come over here!"
"We'll do everything in our power to protect you!"
At that, Kaede scoffed again.
Naruto said nothing. He merely turned his face away with indifference.
"T-This..." the squad leader's pupils shrank in disbelief.
If Kaede really was here to take him away, Naruto no longer had any desire to return to that cold, uncaring village.
This was going to be a big incident.
Just then, another ANBU stepped forward and exclaimed:
"Do you even know who you're standing next to?!"
"That's Kaede Uchiha! The one who brought disaster to Konoha!"
"Are you trying to betray the village?!"
"Shut up!" the squad leader's expression changed dramatically as he barked at his subordinate.
How could he say that now?! Didn't he understand that Naruto might actually leave?!
What kind of idiot says that at a time like this?!
He quickly turned back to Naruto and tried to explain:
"Lord Naruto, we didn't mean it like that—"
"Hmph!" Naruto smirked with disdain.
"The way you all talk... just like those old dogs like Danzo. I've seen through it all!"
Before the ANBU could respond, Naruto turned to Kaede again.
Then he suddenly dropped to the ground and knelt.
"You were the one who told me the truth... but I'm still lost."
"So... please teach me to become stronger! I don't want to stay in this village anymore!"
"I want to see the truth of this world!"
With that, he bowed deeply to Kaede.
This scene completely stunned the ANBU.
The three kunoichi from the Waterfall Village who served Kaede had a sharp glint in their eyes.

His final sentence was shouted at the top of his lungs, full of rage.
His eyes turned blood red, his pupils shifting into slits, and a sinister red chakra surged from his body.
Before the Nine-Tails could stop it, Naruto had already drawn out its chakra!
The depth of his hatred was obvious.
Then Kaede spoke.
"Indeed. This village isn't worth cherishing."
He looked at Naruto. "From now on, follow me."
"I'll show you the truth of this world."
Knowing Kaede had accepted him, Naruto bowed once again.

The ANBU leader clenched his fists in frustration but had no power to stop any of it.
"Damn it...!"
He could only pray silently that the two elders would send reinforcements quickly.
But what he didn't know...
Upon hearing of Kaede's return, the first thing the two elders did was gather ninja to protect themselves.
Only afterward did they even consider who to send out.
Kaede reached down and pulled Naruto up, then turned to the ANBU.
"Letting you live this long has already been mercy."
With a flicker, Kaede appeared in the middle of the ANBU.
Kyōka Suigetsu instantly left its sheath and slashed open two throats.
"Ahh!"
Hearing the screams behind him, the squad leader's eyes widened.
He leapt into the air, spun mid-air, and quickly formed hand seals.
"Wind Style: Thousand Blades!"
Countless wind blades surged toward Kaede.
But Kaede casually grabbed a stunned ANBU and used him as a shield.
The wind blades pierced the body, which soon went limp.
"Damn it!" the leader gritted his teeth.
Why hadn't reinforcements arrived yet?
They weren't a match for Kaede at all!
Even though Kaede was clearly toying with them, he could still kill them with ease.
In mere seconds, only three were left.
No—now only five! Kaede had just killed two more!
"Run!"
The squad leader finally shouted that humiliating word.
Without hesitation, he turned and fled toward the village.
The remaining ANBU followed suit.
"Do you think you can escape?"
Kaede shook his head with a cold laugh.

He sheathed Kyōka Suigetsu and looked to Naruto.
"Before we leave... want to get some payback on this village?"
Naruto blinked, then nodded heavily.
"Yes!"
He was now completely consumed by hatred. Nothing else mattered.
Kaede smirked. "Kurama, time to work!"
Inside Naruto, the Nine-Tails opened his eyes as if understanding Kaede's intent.
"Brat, give me control!"
Without hesitation, Naruto let the Nine-Tails take over.
"HAHAHAHA! Get ready to witness my revenge!"
With a low growl, Naruto opened his mouth toward Konoha's evacuation shelter.
During the village's reconstruction, a residential area had been temporarily set up near the shelter.
Dark Yin-Yang chakra began condensing in front of his mouth.
"Tailed Beast Bomb!"
In the blink of an eye, a massive Tailed Beast Bomb formed above Naruto.
"Impressive pressure," Kaede commented.
He activated his Mangekyō Sharingan and began analyzing the chakra structure—perfect for his Yin-Yang Release research.
"What's going on?!"
At that moment, the long-awaited reinforcements finally arrived.
From a distance, they saw the Tailed Beast Bomb—and the trauma from eight years ago rushed back.
"The Nine-Tails! It's the Nine-Tails!!"
"What the hell?! Isn't the Nine-Tails sealed inside that monster—err, that boy?!"
"It's over... the bomb's headed for the shelter!"
The ninja looked on in despair.
They had no Fourth Hokage this time.
