Chapter 457: Humming Sound Part 2
'I should probably get a little bit more serious,'I muttered to myself as I observed the humanoid monster.
I had already witnessed all it could do, and though its ability to reflect my attack surprised me at first, being aware of it, there was no way it would catch me off guard again.
Now, I just needed to figure out the best way to neutralize its abilities.
Sadly for it, I had multiple skills in my arsenal, so finding a solution was quite easy.
While my thoughts raced to come up with numerous strategies to defeat this thing, it restarted its attack.
However—
With my overwhelming reaction time, I evaded each of its lightning-fast strikes, almost as if I were toying with it.
I simply dodged, effortlessly avoiding its blows.
At the same time, I casually put my hand in my chin to think, a gesture to show how easy it was to deal with its fast blows. It was evident that I held the upper hand in this battle.
'Let's see, if attacks with momentum and energy get reflected back, how about trying this...' I contemplated.
"Quantum Magnet," I raised my hands and made him the central pulling point , all the sands with their light weight instantly surrounded the humanoid creature.
It tried to escape, but he was the source of the magnetic field now so the white sand simply followed it like a homing missiles.
As the grains of sand encircled it more, the creature attempted to resist, unleashing bursts of air pressure in a desperate attempt to create shockwaves and repel the encroaching sands.
However, my control over the magnetic field remained stable, and the sands persisted in their path undeterred by the creature's efforts.
It tried to break free, to no avail. The more it fought, the tighter the sand seemed to cling to its body.
"RRRRRRRRRG" In a last-ditch effort to break my attack, the creature unleashed a deafening roar, its multiple eyes glowing with fury.
But it was futile. The sands closed in around it like a vice, enveloping its body completely, rendering it powerless against the relentless assault of the magnetic field.
'So, indirect attacks work as expected, 'I muttered to myself, affirming my suspicion. I had already guessed that it could only deflect direct physical attacks, but not something like Quantum Magnet.
Just to be safe, I stepped back, watching the dome of sand with a mix of fascination and skepticism. I doubted that this attack alone would be enough to kill it.
Suddenly, sand suspended in mid-air began to vibrate, its intensity steadily escalating, and I could see some light breaking from within it.
As the light from the center of the dome grew brighter, the air around it felt heavier.
BOOOOOOOM!
Finally, with a blinding flash, the dome exploded in a shower of sparks and sand.
The light was so intense that it momentarily blinded me, leaving afterimages dancing behind my eyes.
When my vision cleared, I saw the humanoid creature floating mid air, but it had changed drastically.
Now, its body was darker with golden lines around its joints. It had shrunk and grown wings like a dragonfly. Its eyes were bright red, and it had additional eyes on its side and back of its head.
'Damn, this thing can transform,' I muttered to myself with a chuckle. 'Feels like I'm fighting Friez*, but way uglier.'
I must admit, I'm a sucker for an awesome transformation, but that wasn't the only reason I found its change amusing. It was evident that it had leveled up, indicating it had been holding back its power all along.
"And here I am, thinking I'm lowkey," I sighed, feeling a strange kinship with this creature.
With that thought lingering in my mind, I refocused, attempting to regain my momentum.
The amount of Mind Power I possessed was depleting rapidly, and if I didn't put an end to this soon, I'd be in real trouble, especially if this creature had another transformation up its sleeve.
The creature, seemed to sense my worry, as it let out a menacing shriek and charged at me once again.
This time, its speed was even more unbelievable. The air around it seemed to warp as it darted towards me, claws outstretched, ready to tear me apart.
I reacted on instinct, moving to the side at the last moment. The creature's claws missed my shoulder by inches, but it didn't seem to slow down at all. Instead, it spun around in midair, wings fluttering wildly, before launching itself towards me again.
I gritted my teeth and braced myself, focusing my energy on blocking the attack. With a loud crack, our bodies collided, sending shockwaves through the air.
For a fleeting moment, I believed I had managed to hold the creature off.
However, in the blink of an eye, it twisted its body with lightning speed, delivering a swift kick to my stomach.
The force of the impact sent me hurtling across the air, thankfully, my Energy shield absorbed most of the blow, leaving me mostly unscathed.
But, what happened next served as a reminder that this creature had not only become more powerful but also cunning after transforming.
Without wasting a moment or opportunity, it swiftly closed the distance between us before I could even regain my bearings, launching into a relentless barrage of kicks.
It struck me upwards, then seamlessly followed my trajectory, delivering another powerful kick to send me flying to the right. Before I could react, it swiftly changed direction, delivering yet another blow, this time sending me veering to the left.
As I flailed through the air, completely at the creature's mercy, it seemed to be having the time of its life. With each kick, it gleefully sent me veering in different directions, as if I were a hapless soccer ball in its own private game. Find adventures on empire
With each kick, I couldn't help but imagine the creature shouting "Goal!" in triumph, while I struggled to keep my dignity intact.
"Alright, buddy, you've had your fun," I muttered through gritted teeth.
"But it's my turn to score now."
