Chapter 456: Humming Sound
The humanoid monster surged forward with blinding speed, its movements surpassing even Zhang's agility at his peak and overload status.
And unlike Zhang, whose movements were fueled by kinetic energy buildup, this creature seemed to harness the power of air pressure to propel itself with the speed and precision of a jet plane.
The shell on its body moved in a way that seemed to instinctively control the air around it.
With each flaps, its shell emitted a low hum, a telltale sign of the immense forces at play.
As the humanoid monster closed in on me with its jet-like speed, I found myself in a rather funny situation.
Despite its impressive velocity, my reaction time was honed to such a degree that its speed posed little challenge to me.
With minimal effort, I effortlessly sidestepped its advances, relying on my passive abilities to calculate everything and handle the rest.
It was almost comical how the monster's formidable speed seemed to be rendered ineffective against my finely-tuned reflexes.
"That won't work on me," I stated firmly, shaking my head in a manner reminiscent of imparting a life lesson to a junior colleague.
Why was I talking to a monster?
Well, the reason was simple: I was really bored, so I ended up trying to at least have some connection with someone or something.
At this moment, this ugly monster was the closest thing to an intelligent being in this godforsaken place.
*SWOOOOSH!
As if understanding that I was mocking it for fun, the creature suddenly spun mid-air and delivered another powerful punch that pierced through the air.
But once again, I effortlessly dodged the incoming strike.
It wasn't that the creature was weak; rather, my heightened sensitivity to such direct attacks made them useless against me
While I continued to evade its futile attacks with ease, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pity of how stupid it was.
The creature was all brute force and no technique at all.
It would from time to time unleashed a long distance attack by channeling it's energy but it was too predictable that I kind of felt bad for it.
"Hey how about we talk ?" I tried being diplomatic with it but as expected this idiot could not understand a word .
To emphasize my point, I finally unleashed my own punch, matching the speed and destructive force of the creature's attacks.
However, to my astonishment, the humanoid monster effortlessly dodged my blow.
I thought it was luck so I continued to bombard it with my own strikes and it was able to dodge everything as if it could anticipated my attack.
'Is it the eyes ?'I contemplated the creature's abilities: perhaps its insect-like vision were enhancing its speed and reaction time.
Insects were known for their visual acuity, capable of increasing their reaction speed .
With the knowledge of its enhanced abilities, I decided to use one of my trump cards.
Gripping my fist tightly, I channeled my strength and martial arts prowess into a devastating blow aimed directly at its torso.
This time, I didn't give it the chance to dodge by restricting it's movement using my Telekinesis
But after landing my fist on the creature's torso, its shell emitted a shimmering glow.
I wanted to stop my attack but the momentum carried me forward regardless.
"F**k you!" I cursed aloud as the force of my own blow rebounded with unexpected ferocity, sending me hurtling through the air.
Despite my best efforts, I found myself at the mercy of the very power I had unleashed.
BOOOOOOM!
I crashed on the ground my body sank on the white sand.
'I almost got taken out by my own awesome move,'I muttered, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement at the absurdity of the situation.
Thankfully, my quick reflexes kicked in just in time, and I managed to summon my shield to save the day.
Talk about a close call – who knew my own punch could have such a grudge against me?
Standing up, I used my telekinesis to brush the sand off my body, casting aside the remnants of my less-than-graceful landing.
Across from me, the humanoid creature also landed on the ground, its multiple creepy eyes fixated on me.

"Buddy, you're the strongest being I've ever faced. But now, it's time to get serious," I announced, my shoulders relaxing as I adopted a stance reminiscent of "Son G" before unleashing his iconic move.
With a swift hop from one leg to another, I began channeling my energy, preparing for the burst of speed that would follow.
"Don't blame me for borrowing this move; even that solo guy pulled it off," I winked at the creature before unleashing my attack.
In an instant, I vanished from sight, a blur of motion as I propelled myself forward with the speed of a sniper bullet.
It wasn't teleportation, but rather the raw power of my martial arts techniques, enhancing my agility to unprecedented levels.
Even that fictional dude with two daggers and shadow thingy would give me a thumbs up for this,
SWOOOOSH!
Before the creature could react, I reappeared beside it in a flash, my sudden appearance catching it off guard.
However --
"Oh, right, I forgot about its ability to reflect my attacks," I chuckled, acknowledging my oversight.
With a quick retreat, I vanished from sight, reappearing at a safe distance away from the creature.
Ah, the allure of iconic anime moves can be hard to resist, even in the heat of battle.
But sometimes reality has a way of reminding me that I could not always rely on flashy techniques straight out of an anime.
'Damn, my otaku blood is boiling,' I sighed with a smile.
I couldn't help but acknowledge the irony of drawing inspiration from fictional characters in a real-life battle.
While it was fun to indulge in these antics as a defense mechanism for being trapped in this place, I knew I had to be careful not to lose sight of my goals amidst all the excitement.
"It's tough living in reality," I added with a wry smile.
