Chapter 455: Solo Fight Part 2

With an exhilarating rush, I propelled myself towards the monster, my speed generating shockwaves that made the sand whirl around me in a frenzy.

I wasn't entirely sure if defeating this creature would provide me with any clues, but I clung to that hope nonetheless.

It's was not like I had any other options to begin with.

As I got closer, the golden centipede sensed my killing intent, and it reared its massive head, revealing rows of sharp, jagged teeth inside it's pincers.

It was far larger and longer than any I had encountered before, its size around staggering 150 meters.

To put it into perspective, 150 meters equaled the height of a 50-70 floor building, making this creature an imposing beast .

"HISSSSSS"

The giant golden centipede emitted a menacing hiss, its sound reverberating through the air.

As it did, the sand below it began to vibrate, until it formed an actual weather phenomenon .

The sandstorm raged around it, obscuring my vision at times, but I could still make out the centipede's massive body .

"You're fighting me using a sandstorm?" I sneered in contempt .

"No one can beat me in making a storm you you dimwit " I added as I raised my hands and summoned my own storm ,but mine was made of flames .

Combining flames with my weather control ability wasn't too draining; I just needed to ignite it, and the rest fell into place like a series of chain reactions.

"Burn!"

My flame storm roared to life with a mere flick of my wrist, igniting the air around me with blazing intensity.

As the flames spread, they engulfed the surrounding atmosphere, twisting and spiraling upwards in a vortex of heat and destruction.

BOOOOM!

Our elemental powers collided, creating a devastating maelstrom of destruction.

The sandstorm and fire storm swirled around us, engulfing everything in their paths.

As the flames intensified, the air around us grew thick with heat, while the sand beneath us crackled and sizzled, turning molten and glass like under the intense heat.

However —

When our attacks died down, the Golden Centipede was still standing, that amount of flame that was in no way weaker than a nuclear bomb was actually not enough to dent it's scales.

Regardless.

I could see the anger in its multifaceted eyes, and knew that this battle was far from over.

With a powerful heave, the creature launched itself at me, its segmented body slamming into the air where I stood just moments ago.

"How tough is this thing's skin?" I chuckled, narrowly evading its attack.

If my Mind Power regeneration had been faster, I would have unleashed a more powerful version of my attack without hesitation.

However, I had to be strategic about my energy consumption, balancing the use of my abilities to maximize damage potential while conserving enough energy.

The Golden Centipede relentlessly attacked me, but its efforts were in vain. It's massive size made dodging its attacks relatively easy.

When it figured out that what it was doing wasn't working, it took a sec to think.

"So you're not a total idiot," I taunted.

As if understanding me, it hissed again before switching up its game plan.

The Golden Centipede's new attack pattern was cleaver if he was dealing with a normal ability user. By burrowing into the ground, it was able to hide it self and wait.

Then, it would unleash streams of acidic saliva in my direction, attempting to catch me off guard.

But the trail of acid it left behind was a dead giveaway.

As I dodge the acid attack, I focused my energy on the creature's head, which was visible above the surface whenever it was on attack mode.

"Let's see if you can handle this," I launched a powerful energy projection that collided with its head, sending it deeper to the ground.

"You think I'm done?" I chuckled playfully.

"Quantum Magnet!" I shouted, activating my ability.

The white sands surged upwards like they were being sucked into a vortex, forming a circular dome.

But my main focus wasn't on the dome; it was on yanking the Giant Centipede into the air.

The centipede writhed and thrashed, its many legs flailing wildly as it struggled against the force pulling it upwards.

It emitted a series of sharp hisses and clicks, attempting to anchor itself to the ground with whatever it could find.

But despite its efforts, it was slowly but surely being drawn into the swirling vortex.

"Quit resisting. Sure, you might be the boss around here, but compared to me, you're nothing," I taunted, just to pass the time.

But suddenly—

I sensed a powerful attack coming my way, so I instinctively activated my Energy Shield. But when the attack struck, it shattered, leaving me no choice but to dodge out of the way.

I refrained from using my shield immunity, knowing it could come in handy later when facing even bigger threats.

BOOOOOM!

As the attack whizzed past me, it slammed directly into the Golden Centipede, obliterating it as if it were made of mere paper.

"Who are you?" I asked, my tone tinged with curiosity, as I ascended higher to get a glimpse of the source of the attack.

What I saw was something humanoid, but definitely not human.

It had black scales like the centipedes and lots of eyes. Standing around 10 feet tall, it had a really scary vibe.

'Is this the real boss?'I wondered silently. I could sense that this guy was much stronger.

"Ra... Ge... Mak... Tah..." The humanoid's husky voice echoed, its words foreign to me.

Attempting to understand, I tried to use my ability to learn its language.

Unfortunately, it was too powerful, and I couldn't get anything from its mind.

"Ta..Ga..La..Ruk," it continued to speak, but no matter how hard it tried, it was futile.

So, I decided to mimic its words instead.

"Ta..Ga..La..Ruk," I said.

However, my words seemed to have agitated the humanoid because it suddenly fell silent.

SWOOOOSH!

It closed the gap between us in an instant.

But now that I was aware of its presence, dodging it was relatively easy.

"You're not in the mood for conversation anymore?" I asked in a playful manner.
