At this moment, the clean and tidy little house was filled with the soft sound of Teuchi's narration. The faint yellow light reflected on everyone's faces, revealing various emotions. Listening to Teuchi's calm storytelling, Tsunade and Jiraiya both remained silent.
As Teuchi said, it seemed they had never truly understood Sōsuke's heart.
The atmosphere in the room felt slightly heavy. Teuchi lightly coughed, breaking the stillness. The nostalgic look on his face faded, replaced by a gentle smile.
He turned to look at Kushina and Minato, his eyes narrowing slightly as he softly spoke.
"I am grateful that you both have always admired Sōsuke. If Sōsuke knew, I believe he would be very comforted."
Upon hearing this, both Minato and Kushina had serious expressions on their faces.
"Teuchi, from what you're saying, do you think Sōsuke never focused on Konoha from the start?" Tsunade asked softly, her gaze lowered, her voice filled with sorrow.
Teuchi glanced at her gently, a bitter smile appearing on his face as he quietly replied.
"This is just my personal speculation. However, you know Sōsuke's intelligence well. If his attention had truly been on this village, how could he have so easily exposed himself, allowing the village to discover him?"
Hearing Teuchi's words, Jiraiya's expression became a bit more serious, while a hint of sadness flickered in Tsunade's eyes.
She walked over to the table, gently stroking its surface with her pale hand, as if trying to feel traces of Sōsuke's past life.
'Deep inside...' she couldn't help but sigh. 'So, I never really understood you?'
At the same time.
Outside the peaceful little house, a few figures walked steadily towards the house.
Looking at the drastic changes in the surroundings, Aizen's lips curved into a faint smile as he softly remarked.
"Things have changed so much... Time really is the tool that alters everything." After he finished speaking, they continued forward. When the house, distinct from the surrounding buildings, came into view, even Aizen's calm heart couldn't help but beat a little faster.
The smile on his face gradually faded.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, staring intently at the house that hadn't changed much over the years, his deep eyes glimmering like stars in the night.
Noticing Aizen's subtle shift, Saki's brow twitched slightly. He followed Aizen's gaze.
Upon seeing the faintly lit house, Saki's brow furrowed, and he instantly activated his Byakugan.
After clearly seeing the figures inside, he worriedly glanced at Aizen and hastily said.
"Aizen-sama, inside..."
Aizen raised his hand slightly, stopping him from continuing.
Aizen stood there silently, gazing at the lit house, his vision seemingly piercing through the wooden walls, his expression both calm and complex.
Nawaki was confused, glancing at Aizen and Saki, unsure why their expressions had suddenly changed.
At that moment...
"Creek!"
With a soft sound, the door of the house suddenly opened.
"This house is just a place I use to remember Sōsuke. Here's the key. Since you still trust him, I think you deserve to have it."
As he walked outside, Teuchi turned and softly said to the group behind him.
"Isn't this a bit disrespectful, Teuchi-san?" Kushina asked, somewhat embarrassed.
Hearing her words, Teuchi's face softened into a gentle smile as he softly replied.
"Don't worry, Kushina. After all, Sōsuke might never return here... It's better to leave something for those who come after."
As his words trailed off, he noticed that the expressions of the people behind him had suddenly stiffened.
Whether it was Minato, Kushina, Tsunade, or Jiraiya, all of them wore shocked expressions, their eyes wide. Seeing their faces, Teuchi was momentarily stunned, not understanding what had happened. He slowly turned his head.
When that vaguely familiar face came into his view, Teuchi froze completely!
Across the dimly lit street, under the faint streetlamp, Aizen stood quietly, his complex emotions flashing briefly before his expression returned to calm. He looked at everyone with a peaceful gaze.
Time seemed to stop at that moment. After what felt like a long while, Jiraiya fixed his gaze on Aizen and spoke gravely.
"Aizen! Why are you here!?"
Hearing his words, Aizen's lips curled into a slight smile. He glanced at Jiraiya and chuckled.
"Jiraiya, it's been a few days, and you've become more composed. You didn't immediately attack me. But my reason for being here should be obvious, don't you think?"
As he said this, he looked at Tsunade, who was biting her lip, staring at him unblinkingly. His gaze lowered slightly, and he softly spoke.
"Coming to a place like this won't improve your strength, Tsunade. Why waste your time on such meaningless things?"
Hearing his words, Tsunade's face turned pale, and she muttered hesitantly.
"Tell me... from the start, did you never plan to stay in the village, Aizen?"
Hearing her nearly inaudible words, Aizen didn't directly respond. Instead, his voice turned cold as he said.
"Pursuing such pointless matters won't help you at all. It will only waste your time, Tsunade. You'd be better off using that time to improve your strength."
With that, he no longer paid her any attention and turned his gaze to the remaining group, his eyes gleaming as he spoke softly.
"It's been a while, Minato, Kushina, and Teuchi-san."
Hearing his words, Minato and Kushina's expressions grew even more serious, while Teuchi's face lit up with emotion as he blurted out.
"Sōsuke! Are you... are you coming back!?"
A flicker of light passed through Aizen's eyes as he calmly looked at Teuchi and gently shook his head.
"I'm sorry, Teuchi. Sōsuke has already disappeared from this world, so your question was flawed from the start." Hearing his words, Teuchi's expression froze, and his gaze dimmed instantly.
He raised his hand, as if preparing to say something, but in the end, he sighed softly and lowered his arm.
With Aizen's words, the scene fell into silence once more.
In the shadows behind Aizen, Nawaki trembled slightly, his wide eyes fixed on the beautiful figure among the group.
