My Naija Guy In the Cultivation World

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Shameless System

Chapter 3: The Shameless System

Kayode sat under the shade of a massive tree with violet leaves, trying to process everything that had happened so far. A few hours ago, he was just a regular guy, and now he was in some strange cultivation world with a glowing panel in front of him and a cheeky "ancestral system" talking in his head.

The system interrupted his thoughts with its usual shameless tone. "Oi, Kayode! Stop daydreaming. You think this is some vacation? You've barely started, and you're already acting like you've conquered the world."

Kayode groaned. "Must you talk like this? Can't you give me some peace? At least let me bask in my success for five minutes!"

"Bask in what success? You almost got eaten! If it wasn't for me, you'd be lion chow right now."

Kayode rolled his eyes. "You mean the ancestors saved me."

"Same thing! I'm the one managing all these ancestors for you. Do you think their spirits are just floating around waiting for your command? No! It's me doing the hard work. You're welcome, by the way."

Kayode sighed, rubbing his temples. "This system is too shameless."

"Then there is no need for me to fight I can just summon the ancestors to fight for me." kayode hissed

"No that was a free trial from the system for you to summon an ancestral phantom you need at least ten thousand ancestral points and now it hasn't appeared in the system store." The system said hurriedly as if it was scared kayode will take advantage of it.

"Ding"

kayode wanted to reply but he heard a ding

Prove Yourself Worthy

---

The glowing panel flashed in front of him. Kayode squinted at it. "You want me to fight another beast already? Didn't I just fight one?"

"What do you want, Kayode? A spa day? This is a cultivation world! Fight, grow stronger, repeat. That's the whole gig."

Kayode shook his head. "You're supposed to guide me, not stress me out. How am I even supposed to find another beast? I don't even have a weapon."

"You have your ancestors. That's more than enough. Or are you going to whine like this every time? Maybe I should've picked someone else..."

Kayode pointed at the air angrily. "You didn't pick me! I was dragged here! Don't act like you're doing me a favor."

The system snorted. "Details, details. Now stop wasting time. There's a weak beast nearby. Go take care of it before it decides to take care of you."

Kayode grumbled but stood up. "Fine. But if I die, I'm blaming you."

"If you die, it's your fault for being useless. Now move!"

---

The forest grew denser as Kayode trudged deeper into it, muttering under his breath about a shameless and ungrateful systems with unfair quests. Suddenly, he heard a rustling noise. He froze, his heart pounding.

"System," he whispered. "What's that?"

"That's your target! Go, Kayode, go! Don't daydream. Attack before it sees you!"

"But what if it's stronger than me?"

"Then run. Simple!"

Kayode peeked through the bushes and spotted a strange creature that looked like a cross between a rabbit and a porcupine, with glowing blue quills that shimmered in the sunlight. It was much smaller than the lion-like beast from before, but something about it still made Kayode nervous.

"This thing looks harmless," he muttered.

"Harmless? That's a Spirit Quill Hare! Its quills can pierce through stone. Don't let its size fool you. And don't let it hit you either."

Kayode frowned. "Why do you always leave out the important details until the last second?"

"Where's the fun in telling you everything upfront?"

Kayode sighed, steeling himself. He tried to summon the warrior spirit from before, but nothing happened.

"System! Where's my ancestor backup?"

"Do you think they'll show up for every little fight? No! You need to prove you're worth their time. Handle this one yourself."

Kayode picked up a sturdy branch from the ground. "Great. Now I'm fighting a death rabbit with a stick. Truly, I've hit rock bottom."

"Stop complaining and hit it already!"

The hare's ears perked up, and its glowing eyes locked onto Kayode. It let out a high-pitched screech and launched several of its quills in his direction.

Kayode yelped and ducked just in time. The quills embedded themselves into the tree behind him, leaving deep cracks. "This is not a rabbit—it's a demon!"

"Focus, Kayode! Hit it while it's reloading!"

Kayode charged, swinging his makeshift weapon at the hare. The creature dodged with surprising agility, zipping around him in a blur. It leapt into the air, aiming to strike with its sharp claws.

Instinct kicked in. Kayode twisted his body and slammed the branch downward, catching the hare mid-leap. The impact sent the creature tumbling, and Kayode didn't waste a second. He pounced, pinning it to the ground.

With a final swing, he struck the hare hard, and it went still.

Kayode sat back, breathing heavily. "I did it. I actually did it."

"Not bad, Kayode. I thought you'd mess it up, but you pulled through. Maybe you're not completely useless after all."

"Wow, such high praise," Kayode said dryly.

The system ignored him. "Now, take the beast's core. It'll help with your cultivation."

Kayode looked at the creature. "Its core? How do I even find that?"

"Just stab it in the chest. The core will pop out. Don't act like it's your first time."

"It is my first time!"

"Exactly. You're learning. Chop chop!"

Kayode muttered under his breath as he followed the system's instructions. Sure enough, a glowing blue orb emerged from the creature's chest. He picked it up, feeling its energy thrumming in his palm.

"What do I do with this?"

"Absorb it. Let the energy flow into your body. And no, it won't kill you. Probably."

Kayode glared at the air. "You're the worst guide ever."

"And yet, you're still alive. You're welcome."

Reluctantly, Kayode focused on the core, letting its energy seep into his body. A warm sensation spread through him, and his cultivation foundation felt stronger.

---

Spirit Energy Increased!

---

Kayode stood, a small smile on his face. "Alright, I'll admit that felt good."

"See? I told you this would be fun. Now get ready for the next challenge."

Kayode groaned. "Next challenge? Can't I rest first?"

"Rest? Do you think the other cultivators are resting? Get moving! You've got a long way to go if you want to survive here, let alone thrive."

Shaking his head, Kayode trudged forward, already dreading what the shameless system had in store for him next.
