My Magical System

Chapter 336: Wooden Sword?

"That's…" Zoey muttered in surprise when she saw the huge figure. "Sphin!" She called out after a slight pause. On top of Sphin was no other than that person. "Eman!" She shouted his name. If not because of them, she would surely be at a bad end by now.

"Who is he?" One of the town guards asked. The man looked wary as he stared at the figure of Sphin and the person mounting it. Like him, the other guards were also having the same expression. Not all of them had seen or knew Eman. Most of them had no idea who he was.

"Don't worry, they're not an enemy!" Zoey said assuringly.

They sighed in relief when they heard her say that. Zoey was close to the town guards. Because of her outgoing personality, she frequently visited their headquarters. Also, as the daughter of the Rothsport Family, she was quite popular in the town, especially because of her friendly nature.

Zoey looked back at Eman and Sphin, who at that moment landed in front of her. "Eman, thank you for saving me!" She thanked him immediately.

He nodded and tossed an item towards her. "Take this."

Seeing the item flying toward her, Zoey was slightly taken aback. "Wha—? W-What's this?" She caught it clumsily.

"I don't know either, but your father asked me to give it to you."

"Is that so? I see…"

She narrowed her eyes as she examined the item in her hands. Emam just nodded slightly.

Zoey frowned. She wondered what it was. When she unclothed it, a seemingly simple-looking wooden sword greeted their eyes.

"A wooden sword?" She muttered in disbelief. She looked back at him. The expression in her eyes was as if asking him whether it was just a prank. Why would her father give her a wooden sword in this situation? But, it wasn't her father's character to make a prank in this situation.

However, what can it do? A wooden sword is just a training sword.

Even Eman was surprised as well after seeing that it was indeed just a wooden sword. However, there was a faint unnatural force he could feel from it, so it was probably not an ordinary sword, right? He thought.

"Well, why not try using it? I can feel something from it. Maybe it's not an ordinary sword," Eman said to her.

Besides, she can throw it if it's not of any use.

She looked at him, she felt an indescribable feeling. She then nodded. "Okay." She couldn't understand, but hearing it from him, there was a strange feeling that she could trust his words.

Moreover, this item came from her father, so this item couldn't be a simple training sword.

At that moment, loud buzzes could be heard.

"This is bad! New waves are incoming. Two groups are rushing from both sides!" A voice full of worry echoed. It was the female guard with a man-like build who shouted.

Her expression turned extremely ugly immediately upon seeing the bees. The other town guards also had the same ugly expression on their faces upon seeing the approaching group of giant bees.

As the female guard said, there were two groups of bees flanking them. They haven't finished dealing with the current wave of bees and yet two more waves are coming.

At that moment, one of the guards shouted.

"Look!"

When they saw what he was pointing at, everyone was dumbfounded.

They saw the bees around them being taken one after another by the newcomer. It only took a few moments to clear all the remaining bees around them.

"What kind of weapon is that in his hand?" A female guard asked in disbelief.

They were surprised at the weapon that easily pierced and sliced in half the bees. How come? Even their spears could not deal damage to these bees.

These bees were no ordinary bees. Physical and magical attacks seemed to have less effect against them. And yet, this young man easily took them down?!

Everyone had their jaws dropped in disbelief. They didn't expect this newcomer to be this strong.

Nonetheless, the beast he was mounting was also another thing for disbelief. Just what kind of beast is that?!

It was very fierce. It grabbed the bees. Although it didn't entirely crush the bees, the bees could do nothing against its strength.

The young man is the real finisher though. Or more specifically, the sword in his hand.

In the blink of an eye, the bees around were wiped out by these newcomers. In just a moment, there was only the approaching new waves to worry about.

They wanted to sigh in relief, but the situation was still far from being relieved.

Without minding their reactions, Eman narrowed his eyes. "I'll take care of the one on the left first. Hold the one on the right for me. I'll deal with them after I finish dealing with the left."

"Really?!" Zoey felt overjoyed when Eman said it. "Then I'll leave it to you!" Zoey also had no idea how strong Eman truly was, but seeing how he easily defeated the bees around them just now, there was no reason to deny his strength.

And since he was an honorary knight inducted by the emperor himself, there should be something special about him, right? Still, she was curious about how truly powerful Eman was.

Zennie mentioned to her that Eman was far stronger than Mister Rossbert, who was the strongest warrior in the town. But hearing it from others rather than seeing it personally was not her basis to decide if he truly was as the other claims about him even if the person who told her was her most beloved sister. It was her motto:

"Everyone, as Eman says, let's do our best and hold the wave on the right until he finishes dealing with the wave on the left! Let's protect the townspeople!" Zoey shouted.

"Can he do it alone? But there's more bees on that side!" One of the guards asked.

"Let's hope he can. Besides, there's nothing we can do either," Zoey replied and urged everyone to focus on defending against the bees coming from the right side.

"Alright, everyone! Follow what Lady Zoey said! Let's hold the one on the right side and protect the civilians!"

The guards immediately stepped in front of Zoey and the townspeople who failed to hide. They made a defensive formation using their spears.

The giant bees didn't seem afraid. They proceeded to attack the group. When the iron tip of the spear hit a bee, a high-pitched sound could be heard, as though it hit a metallic object.

The guard's hand trembled while clenching her jaw.

The bees were so aggressive. One of them managed to slip from their defense and went to attack one of the guards around. The bee's stinger struck the guard on his chest. The guard fell backward.

A groaning muffled sound could be heard when his back hit the ground. Fortunately, the stinger only hit the metal plate armor on his chest. He avoided death.

"Attack it!" The female guard with a large build like a wrestler, shouted at her comrades. "Don't let it pass you!"

"Follow what Candice said or else all the civilians behind us will be in great danger!" Zoey shouted as well.

Not that they were in a good situation either. Against these kinds of bees, being a guard or not is no different.

The guards tried their best to attack the bee, however, the bee was so quick and agile. Their efforts were useless. Their attacks met with empty air.

The bee easily dodged their spears and made its way towards Zoey, who was in front of the civilians and at the back of the vanguards.

A bead of sweat trickled down her beautiful face. Zoey was hesitant to use the wooden sword in her hand.

What can a wooden sword do? She repeated the question in her mind.
