Chapter 335: Town square
"Alright, I'll give it to her." Eman nodded.
With the flick of his hand, the item disappeared into thin air.
"Leave the mansion to us!"
Hearing Rowan saying that, Eman looked around.
The Rothsport Guards were busy defending the mansion. Fortunately, only a few huge bees were attacking the mansion at the moment. They could only be counted with the fingers of his hands.
Although the guards' attacks couldn't deal damage to the bees, their defense was enough to protect the people inside.
Although the bees seemed like they could not break away from the guard's formation, he could see some guards wounded and groaning. But they were quickly pulled off to the side by some of their comrades.
Eman nodded to Rowan. After getting rid of the nearby giant bees that tried to sneak attack the female guard, he immediately left the mansion.
The guards wondered how that young man was able to kill the bees so easily. They couldn't even deal damage to them.
Rowan couldn't help but feel gratitude for Eman. It lowered the burden his men had to face.
Taking off up in the sky, some bees welcomed him with unmasked murderous intent. Eman summoned his Spirit Sword once again and slashed the first giant bee that was first to approach him.
Without even activating the sword's ability, the weapon cleaved through the bee's carapace as though it was as soft as a pudding.
The bee's body split in two without resistance. Purple-colored intrills burst out. But Eman no longer pays attention to that. He glanced into the sky and asked.
Sol, do you need help?
|You're back!| Sol, who was busy dealing with the huge bees in the air, suddenly paused for a moment when she heard a telepathic voice from Eman and she exclaimed. Her voice was full of delight. |Ah, no need to help me, Eman. I can take them. I think my Soul Reaping Sword is very compatible in dealing with these bees.|
Sol was a few hundred meters above the mansion, chasing after the bees and killing them. She did it to lower the number of bees that went to attack the people below. If not because of her effort, the people in the mansion would be in great danger.
Regarding her Soul Reaping Sword, Eman could see it too. It looked like the Soul Reaping Sword was indeed very effective against the huge bees.
I see. Then I'll leave this area to you. I'll go and help the older sister.
Yes, leave this area to me. I'll follow after you once I finish dealing with the bees here.
Alright.
Eman and Sphin sped up towards the town square. As soon as Eman left, Sol quickly attacked the bee that was aiming to attack her by bending its back forward and pointing its sting at her. But Sol was faster and easily slashed the bee without even looking in its direction.
The bee fell below with a loud thud. Strangely, you couldn't see any physical wound in it. It was a mystery how it died. The unique ability of the Soul Reaping Sword is that it attacks its target's soul directly.
After killing it, she immediately went to attack the other bees.
Sol looked around and noticed she was too high above the ground. She was very busy chasing after the bees and didn't realize she was already this high.
Well, it doesn't matter. She just needs to hunt them all down.
Flying over the town, Eman saw the serious situation.
Most of the people were hiding, but there were also many running in panic outside. It seemed some bees managed to enter the buildings as well and the people inside had no choice but to run outside.
Some town guards could be seen fighting against the bees but all of them were on the losing end.
He saw a mother and a child surrounded by bees. The mother embraced her child, trying her best to protect her child. It was the least she could do in their situation.
Seeing the bees inching closer in the blink of an eye, the mother hugged her child tightly as she screamed.
"Help!"
Thwack! Thwack!
A figure suddenly landed in front of them and strange noises followed.
The mother widened her eyes in disbelief. She saw the bees falling on the ground. Their bodies were split in two.
"Y-you are…"
Eman turned around and looked behind him. "The town's guest."
"Ah! You're that young man who arrived here along with the young lady!"
Eman nodded and quickly told them to hide quickly.
"A-Alright! By the way, thank you very much for saving us!"
Eman smiled faintly and urged them to hide fast before another group of bees noticed them.
Seeing them leave, Eman continued as well. He saw a large gathering of bees in the direction of the town square. While he was heading there, he also had to get rid of the bees that he encountered on the way.
In the town square, Zoey along with hundreds of town guards were protecting the townspeople who failed to hide. Fatigue was evident on their faces.
"Lady Zoey, their numbers did not dwindle. They keep on increasing!" A female guard with a man-like build said to Zoey.
Zoey knitted her brows. Her breathing was uneven. Their situation was very dangerous. The guards' weapons were not effective in killing the bees. Their only option was to defend. However, as time went by, exhaustion overwhelmed them.
Many of the guards were poisoned by the bees' stings. Just a small scratch from them was already very fatal.
"Yeah, I know. But we can't leave the townspeople alone!" She grinned her white teeth as she questioned herself what to do.
She kept asking herself what to do in this situation. Would they all die here? Was there nothing she could do in this situation?
Glancing above, the sky was blanketed by bees. They were flying randomly as though making fun of the people below them.
"Even magic is no use against them." Another female guard said in worry after her fireball magic had no effect against them.
"Don't waste your magic energy. If my guess is right, then they are not something we can deal with magic attacks," Zoey told her.
"Eh? Really?! No wonder!" The girl exclaimed.
"Does that mean they were invincible?" The female guard with a man-like build asked.
"We need someone with spiritual attributes to deal with them," Zoey replied.
"Spiritual attributes?"
Zoey nodded her head and asked. "Do we have people like that in the town guards department?"
"But those are very rare attributes, Lady Zoey. People with natural spiritual attributes could only appear once in a blue moon," said the female guard.
Zoey grimaced upon hearing it.
Not only the bees were impossible to take down, but they were annoyingly noisy as well. It was hard to focus.
"Gyahh!"
Another guard was struck by a sting on his shoulder. The guard's color immediately turned pale then purple scattered where the wound was.
Zoey twitched when she glanced at it. She felt sorry for him, but there was nothing she could do to help. Her strength was diminishing and she could feel her body started swaying.
"Lady Zoey, watch out!" At that moment, Zoey lost her focus and did not notice one of the bees already in front of her eyes. Its sting was an inch away from her eyes.
With wide eyes, Zoey's whole body froze at that moment. Even if she reacted, there wasn't enough time to evade.
However, suddenly, the bee was snapped away by a huge figure that suddenly passed by.
Everyone looked with wide eyes and dumbfounded faces.
