Chapter 334: The bees
"Bro, I'm sorry if I didn't inform you about this matter, but I think you need to hear it, especially now that it isn't a secret from you anymore. The truth is the reason for our clan's predicament is…"
Herro explains about the problem the clan is facing. According to him, the members of one of the three so-called titan clans in the academy asked the members of the Merciless Clan to clean their high-grade equipment. However, when they returned the equipment after cleaning it, suddenly their members knocked on the door of the barracks again.
According to them, the equipment that was returned to them from the Merciless Clan had some noticeable scratches and gashes.
The four were surprised by what they heard because they made sure that they were in the best condition like new when they returned the equipment. However, the members of the Red Tyrant Clan insisted that they were the ones who damaged the equipment.
The four paled at what they heard. Even if they wanted to deny what they claimed, they couldn't do anything when the members of the Red Tyrant Clan said that if they didn't take responsibility for the damage to their equipment, they would be forced to use force against the Merciless Clan.
Herro and the others argued for what they thought was right. They tried to say that there was no damage when they returned them. However, the members of the Red Tyrant Clan still insisted that there were damages. They even warned them that if they didn't take responsibility, they would crush the Merciless Clan.
Herro and the others knew they were no match for the Red Tyrant Clan. Comparing the Merciless Clan to the Red Tyrant Clan is like comparing sand to a boulder.
The gap between the two Clans is too far.
"If we can't pay for the damage to the equipment, they will use violence against us," said Herro sadly.
Although Eman had already heard about it from Hannah, the details he got from her were not so detailed, so Herro's explanation is still a big help in understanding the full picture of what truly happened.
Eman believed that Herro did not lie. There was no change in his pulse rate while speaking. Besides, if you think about it, what would he gain by lying? Besides that, their other companions felt the same way. The sadness they felt was genuine.
The only thing he couldn't understand was why a titan clan would have an interest in bullying such a small clan.
Eman pondered.
He had some speculation in mind, but the most realistic among them is… It may be a case of finding someone to blame.
"Do they just want to ask for payment? Is that all they demand?"
Hero nodded. "Yes, bro. But they are asking for no small amount." Herro knitted his brows.
"How much?" Eman asked.
"Five thousand gold coins."
"….."
Eman suddenly fell silent upon hearing it. Here in the empire, such an amount is truly enormous. It's not that he doesn't have that much amount, but...
"This is a blatant robbery!" Faye shouted. "Those bastards! They want us to disband, that's why they are doing it to us!" Faye responded angrily.
Eman agreed with Faye. This was a blatant robbery. Such a huge amount couldn't be easily obtained.
"If we fail to clear the stain from our clan, it will be difficult for us to gain Academy Points later on. I'm sure this issue will make everyone doubt us."
"Arrghh! If only my father hadn't gotten into trouble, I would have been able to collect such a large amount," Fatsu said regretfully.
He heard from Faye that Fatsu was from a merchant family. He seems to be from a rich family.
"I'm surprised they are not asking for Academy Points," said Eman.
"Probably because they bought those items with real money," replied Herro.
"I see..." Eman paused for a moment and pondered. "By the way, did you have any misunderstanding with them before this happened?"
"No."
Eman saw his companions shake their heads at his question. "So that means they just want to pressure us. Ah, right. Did you check the equipment well?"
"Yeah, we check it meticulously after sending them back to them. We are sure there wasn't even a speck of gash in it. Not even dust. That's why we were shocked when they came back and told us the equipment was damaged."
"Were they wrapped when you returned them?"
"Because that's their request."
"I see."
He narrowed his eyes. He already had the full picture of what truly happened.
"From now on, if they ever come back to you, tell them I want to talk with their leader. I'll be back tomorrow."
They had no idea what Eman was planning, but there was a sudden surge of hope after they heard him.
"Alright."
It was already 5 PM when Eman came back to his room in the Rothsport Town.
Because of what happened in the Merciless Guild, he had more to do. It looked like he would become more busy from now on.
When he opened the door of the guest room, Eman was surprised to see Zennie outside. Surprisingly, she was wearing a grim expression on her face. When Zennie saw him, her eyes turned bright all of a sudden.
"Eman! You are finally awake!" Eman noticed a relief in Zennie's voice when she said it.
"Is there a problem?"
"The bees are attacking the townspeople!" She exclaimed.
Upon hearing it, Eman's eyes grew wider. "What!" He hastily ran outside. Zennie tailing him.
Outside, he saw everyone fighting against bees. However, there was something strange about these bees. They were bigger than before. They were as big as two human heads.
"How come they grow to such an extent?" Eman mumbled in shock.
"Didn't you say the Forest Boar you encountered in the forest last night also had an abnormal size? Could it be connected to it?"
When Zennie mentioned it, Eman recalled last night's incident. "You're right, the Forest Boar also had abnormal size. So it was probably connected to that oak tree and the beehive."
Eman noticed some dots in the sky. In his Inventory, he switched his sub-weapon from dagger to arrow. The <Eye Of Scope> skill is immediately available to use. Eman used it and focused his sight on the silhouette in the sky.
"It's Sol and…" he mumbled. It seemed Sol was fighting in the sky against some of the bees.
Zennie told him, "Sol insisted that she'll help fight the bees and told us not to bother you. I know Sol is very strong, but there are more bees in the sky."
Eman nodded, and then he looked back at Zennie. "Go back inside and lock the door."
"Eh! I want to fight as well!" Zennie responded with a brave determination.
"If my guess is right, there's no way you can beat them, Zennie. Look at them." Eman beckoned Zennie to look around.
Zennie turned around and saw the guards struggling to fight the giant bees. Even though they had been fighting for quite a while, not a single dead bee could be seen around them. This means that the guards have not defeated any giant bees yet.
One of the guards fell into a predicament after a bee charged at him at full speed. The guard tried to attack it with his sword but it seemed the bee was tougher than it looked. The sword did not hurt it. On top of that, the collision of the sword and the bee knocked the guard on his butt.
The guard who suffered a bit of shock could react immediately. He didn't notice the bee was already going to attack again.
Before the bee could reach the guard, the bee was hit by a sharp crescent-shaped bluish energy. Its body suddenly divided into two and fell to the ground. It briefly trembled slightly before it stopped moving, clearly dead.
Zennie who saw it widened her eyes in disbelief. That bee that was not pierced by the sword was sliced just like that?!
"Don't worry, I'll handle them," Eman smiled at Zennie to put her at ease.
Seeing it, Zennie nodded and said, "Be careful."
"I will."
But before Eman could leave, she called out to him again. "Uhm, wait, Eman!"
"Yes?"
"My sister went to save the townsfolk, please, I leave her to you."
"Is that so? Alright, I'll go and check her."
Eman quickly summoned Sphin, then jumped on its back. As they were about to take off, "Wait!", a shout made him stop. This time, it wasn't from Zennie but from Rowan.
"Senior, what's the matter? I'm in a bit of a hurry, I'm going to check…"
"Please, give it to Zoey." For some reason, Rowan came and handed him what seemed to be a thing covered in a cloth.
"What's this?" Eman asked.
"A family heirloom that has been sleeping in the storeroom for quite a long time. After meticulously scrutinizing the storeroom, I found it. I sensed spiritual energy from it, so I think it will be a good weapon."
When Eman touched the item, even if it was covered by a cloth, he could feel the cold sensation of energy from it. There was no doubt that it was spiritual energy.
Judging from its shape, it must be a sword.
