Chapter 320: Getting rid of the cause of crisis
When Eman entered the room, Zoey's eyes grew big. Her face looked excited when she glanced from Eman and then to Zennie.
She grinned and said, "My dear little sister, so you have finally found someone to cherish. Hehe. Tell me how you met this lucky man."
With a face turning slightly red, Zennie said in haste, "Sister Zoey, I-I think you have the wrong idea." She almost stuttered.
Even though her sister Zennie said that, Zoey still believed she wasn't entirely wrong. Look at how red and flustered her sister's face was.
However, it seems his sister had a strong competitor. Walking a bit behind the young man was a very charming young lady.
Eman and Sol stopped a few steps away in front of Zoey, who at that moment was sitting at the edge of the bed, and then Eman first introduced himself by putting his right palm on his chest and slightly bending his torso forward.
"Greetings Lady Zoey, my name is Eman. Your sister's acquaintance whom she met by chance. Oh, and by the way, please don't be surprised if we know your name. It seems your sister can't wait and told us about you while we're heading here. Your sister is indeed right though in what she told us."
"Oh, what did she tell you about me? I am curious." Zoey's head moved a little and looked excited.
"That you're a lovely and cheerful person, whom she adores the most."
Zennie hid her face between her hands, feeling a little embarrassed. Why did Eman have to reveal that? She thought. On the other hand, Zoey blushed a little and giggled.
Seeing Zoey's happy face, Eman continued saying, "Although Lady Zoey's countenance has yet to regain its original condition, I can already figure out that you're indeed as your sister says. If Lady Zoey used this, I can guarantee your condition will return to your original vigor one hundred percent."
Eman produced a bottle with vibrant liquid inside. However, they noticed the color of the vibrant liquid in this one was different from the one that Zoey drank just a while ago. The color of the vibrant liquid a while ago was brilliant green, while this one is brilliant red-orange.
"What is this?"
"It is called Supplementary Elixir. Since my coming here is unexpected and unplanned, I haven't prepared a gift. So please take it in the form of a gift, Lady Zoey."
Zennie wondered what Eman was saying. He didn't need to prepare a gift. It was she who needed their help and the one who troubled them.
But sooner than Zennie could react, Eman urged Zoey to try it. "Try it, Lady Zoey. I can guarantee its effectiveness."
"Since my sister trusted Eman, I guess I have nothing to worry about."
After saying that, Zoey uncapped the bottle and chugged the content.
Light particles flew around her and they dissipated after a few seconds. However, to everyone's surprise, there was a noticeable change in Zoey's countenance. Her weary skin turned glossy. Her thin frame had become healthy. It was as if she didn't suffer a disease. A perfect contrast of how she looked a second ago.
"What is this? I feel like my body has returned to before I was sick. No, I think I am more invigorated now!" Zoey exclaimed in delight. Full of vitality.
Eman noticed that Zoey looked a lot like her sister. "Your sister is indeed right." Eman smiled.
Zennie had a look of disbelief. She didn't expect that an elixir like that existed.
"I'm so happy for you, sis."
Zoey smiled warmly at Zennie before she looked at Eman. "That elixir must be high-grade as well."
Eman opened his mouth. "In terms of grade, that Supplementary Elixir is a level higher than the medicine elixir you drank previously." Honestly, those medicine elixirs were just low-quality elixirs. But he had no idea that most potions here were much poorer quality. Therefore, his lowest-tier elixir was regarded as high-grade by them.
"Is that so?"
Eman nodded. He glanced behind and secretly winked at Sol before turning back his gaze in front and said, "By the way, those elixirs are just ones among the many of this lady's merchandise." Eman then stepped aside slightly to let Sol introduce herself.
Sol stepped forward and graciously introduced herself. "Greetings, Lady Zoey. My name is Sol Reia. A merchant's daughter. I am happy to meet you." She smiled.
"She's the only heiress of their family business. Thus, to accumulate experiences, she decided to travel from afar and arrived here in the empire a couple of months ago." Eman assisted Sol in introducing her self.
"Likewise. I am very happy to meet you, Miss Sol. So Miss Sol is a traveling merchant, and these elixirs are ones of her products?"
Sol nodded and said, "About being a travelling merchant, I'd say I used to be, however, after entering the Magical Academy in the capital, I settled and opened a shop in the capital."
Meanwhile, in the capital city, a store named S.R. Merchandise had a long queue of customers waiting outside.
Tres and the others were very busy tending to the customers. Once the news about a certain store selling elixirs was heard by one person, the news proliferated like wildfire on the vast farm. People immediately rushed over to buy.
Last time, when Eman visited Sol in the expensive hotel she was staying at, he also told her about his plan. He has already finished all the preparations. All she needed to do was open a shop. After giving her all the details of the plan, Sol hastily informed Tres' squad.
Thus, the store was established without a hitch.
It seemed the store was quite busy. Surprisingly, even with a huge crowd of customers, no one cut the line or entered the store forcefully. Those who cheated their way and used force will meet with heavy intimidation by the clerks inside, and then thrown outside.
It already happened quite a few times. There were even some who used their status. Saying they were from famous noble families. Yet, none of them received better treatment than the others. Those who caused trouble would meet the same outcome.
There were even idiots who hired some thugs to cause trouble in the store. But those idiots were beaten black and blue by the store clerks.
From then, everyone realized that this store was not something they could take lightly. Because of that, the citizens also started taking the side of the store, especially because they were the only store that was willing to sell medicines.
Even though they were selling the medicine elixirs a bit overpriced, customers were still eager to pay.
Upon learning of the lack of supplies, Eman immediately formed a plan. A plan to take advantage of the crisis. He didn't even need to go to all the trouble to do the dirty work. He just sat there, giving commands to his people and using the thief guild.
Back in the Rothsport Town, they heard a loud commotion from outside, however, it seemed like it wasn't caused by any disturbance, more like, the people seemed very happy because of the elixirs.
They shouted, "Long live the Rothsport Family!"
Long live! Long live!
After that, Rowan's voice could be heard, telling the citizens about the danger caused by the Miasmatic Colony. He advised them to go home straight away after receiving their elixirs. Amazingly, the people followed his command without causing a fuss.
When dusk came, all the crowding citizens outside the gate of Rothsport mansion finally dispersed. Eman and Rowan were talking in private inside his office.
"The dragon said the miasma the Miasmatic Colony spread was very effective to ordinary citizens and to people with low magical force."
"Thank you for telling me this. This information will be a huge help to us."
Eman nodded and said, "That's right. However, it is still better to avoid the miasma. The guardian dragon also said that even those with high magical strength can be at risk if they are soaked in the miasma for a long time. So if possible, avoid going outside, senior."
"Yeah. We'll do that. However, we need to find a way to get rid of the colony," Rowan said gloomily.
Eman said, "That's right."
Rowan suddenly stared at him. "Did the guardian dragon not tell you how to get rid of the colony?"
Eman touched his chin and pondered. "Well, he did mention something."
"Really?!" Rowan raised his voice in excitement.
Eman nodded. "He said that an item called Golden Cassis Cornuta is the only item that can repel them."
"Golden what?"
"It's a big sea shell that can produce a loud noise. The guardian dragon said the noise it produced was enough to scare away the Miasmatic Colony."
"But, he also said that it had been lost for a long time and there was no sign of its whereabouts."
"Oh no~~ so there's no hope." Rowan felt dejected. His brows furrowed.
"Why don't we try to make a loud noise?" Eman suggested. "You can't just give up without trying anything."
When Rowan heard it, he suddenly stood up. "You're right, Eman! Then let's use the bell in the church!"
No matter what, he couldn't lose hope. His family and the people of Rothsport Town were depending on him. He couldn't betray their trust. There was a new determination in his eyes.
Early in the morning, a loud chime could be heard.
