My Magical System

Chapter 321: Business is business

The bell chimed three times in a row and echoed a few times.

"How's that?!" From the window, Rowan shouted, asking Eman if the noise scared the bee colony.

Eman narrowed his eyes as he stared at the hovering bees in the air. After a few seconds, he helplessly shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. "Negative. It didn't scare them!"

The people inside the mansion sighed dejectedly.

"It seems other than the sound of the Golden Helmet Shell, other sounds have no effect," Zennie said in a glum voice. She stole a glance at Eman and a warm feeling rose in his heart.

"Don't lose hope! It's just the first try," Sol cheered Zennie.

The two of them were staring outside through the window, waiting for a good result, but the good result is still far-fetched, it looks like.

Both girls were staring at Eman, who was in mid-air, on Sphin's back, looking around. And then they noticed him staring in one direction with a look of surprise.

Zennie wondered what Eman saw.

"Eman! Is there a problem?!" Zennie shouted. Beside him, Sol was calmly sipping hot green tea.

"There is something like a dark cloud forming in the distant forest."

"Eh? What is it?"

"It seems like a gathering of miasma. I have bad feelings about it."

"Alright. Come back here before the miasma harms you as well."

Eman touched his nose before nodding.

If it was just him and Sol, Eman wouldn't be worried about the miasma. But because it is dangerous to other people, he has to take extra caution for others.

Eman asked Sphin to fly down.

Inside the mansion, Zoey arrived at the hallway where she saw the others gazing outside through the window.

"What's up, is the chime effective? Can we go outside now? I want to train!" Zoey asked. She looked energetic.

"Unfortunately, it was not effective," Zennie replied in a dispirited tone.

"I see. Well, it can't be helped. By the way, what kind of creature is that mount that Eman rode?" Zoey suddenly asked, her eyes flared with curiosity and excitement.

"That's Sphin, sis. But I don't know what kind of creature it is. Maybe Miss Sol knows." Zennie glanced at Sol. "How about you? Do you recognize it, Miss Sol?" She asked.

Sol shook her head. "I don't know either. But Eman mentioned before that it's a special creature gifted to him by a friend." Sol knew that it was made by that Old Fart Elder Dark Priest, but anyway, she can't tell others the things related to the Lord's Domain.

"I see."

"If possible. I want to get one like that. It looks strong and intimidating. While at the same time, very unique. Hehe," Zoey chuckled.

Zennie just smiled slightly for her sister's enthusiasm.

Last night, Eman was contemplating if he used his Lord's Domain to save the people of this town. But upon careful thinking about it, he went against that idea. The Lord's Domain is only known by his people and him. Aside from them, there was only one person who knew about it, and it was his sister.

He can't reveal that he possesses that kind of power.

When he entered the mansion, a crestfallen Rowan approached him. "Is there a slight reaction from them?"

"I'm afraid that it didn't even bother them."

"I see," Rowan replied gloomily, looking a bit exhausted.

Eman smiled wryly. "Don't lose hope, Senior. This is the first test only," he said to dispel his sorrow.

Rowan stared at him and nodded. "You're right. That was the first attempt only. Don't worry, no one in our family is quick to give up just because of the little seatback!" Determination returned to his face.

Eman chuckled a bit. Now he knew where Zennie got her resilience from.

Despite risking her life several times during her trip in search of a cure for the disease, she did not lose hope. Eman couldn't help but be a little impressed with Zennie.

And because of that, he had to help them a little somehow.

Rowan turned to Eman. His face was sad. "You know, my only concern is that if this continues, the city may not be able to recover. It has been several days since the citizens have not been able to work properly. Production of necessities was stopped long ago. For a few days now, we have only been relying on reserve supplies.

The town's economy is gradually falling. If it continues like this for a few more days, I'm sorry that the city may not be able to recover. This is the biggest problem we are facing. Not only the people but the whole town," Rowan said sadly.

Eman understood the situation of the town. This is also what worried the guardian dragon. When this kind of disaster strikes, the affected area becomes crippled no matter how super powerful it is. This is the type of disaster that cannot be underestimated.

After Rowan said that, Sol suddenly arrived who seemed to be listening and just waiting for Rowan to finish his speech.

"Sorry for the intrusion, but if Uncle Rowan is willing to listen, I think I have a solution to your problem. Although this is not the definitive solution, it can temporarily alleviate the fall of the economy."

Rowan almost jumped at what he heard.

"Lady Sol?! Ah, by the way. First of all, let me thank you with all my heart. If it were not because of your elixirs, only a bad end awaits us all. Regardless, is there really a way to avoid a rapid economic collapse?"

Sol nodded. "Yes. I called it the 'Band Aid Solution'."

"Band what?"

"It is a term that is not commonly heard in the empire, more or less in Rothsport Town. Nonetheless, it's an unnecessary word. But just think of it as a temporary solution."

"I see. Then I'll listen to it. Please, tell me, Lady Sol."

The ring on Sol's index finger suddenly lit up. Then something appeared in her hands. She immediately showed it to Townlord Rowan.

"With these things, anyone who uses them will gain protection from the miasma."

"Eh? Really?"

Sol nodded. "This is Magic Facemask. It can prevent anyone who uses it from inhaling the miasma. And this one is Magic Ointment. It gives the ability to repel miasma from entering the pores of your body."

When Rowan heard it, his eyes widened. "Are they really capable of protecting anyone from the miasma?" He asked excitedly.

"Yes, but only for a limited time. But don't worry. Their effect lasts for five hours. Once their effect wears off, you can use a new one to continue your work outside with less concern for the miasma's ill effects. However, their effectiveness is not 100 percent, but I believe it's around 70-80 percent."

Hearing this, Rowan suddenly felt happy. It doesn't matter if it's only 70-80 percent, even if it's 30-50 percent, he will still buy it.

"Say it; How much will you sell it for?!" Rowan couldn't wait to ask it.

But when he heard the price, he felt like vomiting blood.

"I-I see… so 5 gold per pack of Magic Facemask and 1 gold each for Magic Ointment?" Rowan repeated what Sol had told him in a voice that sounded like he had been doused with cold water.

"But since Zennie is a friend of mine, I will sell them for 100 silver coins per pack of Magic Facemask and 500 silver coins for each Magic Ointment."

Upon hearing this, enthusiasm suddenly returned to Rowan's face. If Zennie wasn't his child, he would worship her like a goddess of fortune.

He needs these items for the town and the people.

After that, they immediately discussed the number of items that Rowan would buy. Sol said that there is no problem with the supply of Magic Facemask and Magic Ointment because she has enough supply. Rowan felt even more energized after knowing that there was plenty of supply for these items.

Eman smiled. Everything is going as he planned.

Last night, he entered his Lord's Domain to find a way to protect the people from the miasma. His <Tailor> talent caught his attention. Using his tailor talent, he learns that he can make cloth items with magic affinity. He also learned that the only materials needed to make a facemask are cloth and silk, which are very easy to get and simple.

Aside from that, he doesn't have to bother working on sewing them because, with just one click of the <Create> button in his Tailor Interface, it will be created immediately and automatically in less than a second.

In just that night, Eman accumulated enough Magic Facemasks. After that, he told Sol what to do. Eman did expect Sol's performance to improve again, and 'yep' he was right.

Anyway, business is business.

The next day, the citizens of Rothsport were overjoyed by the announcement coming from the townlord's messenger.

Every family was given two Magic Ointments and a pack of Magic Facemasks.

On that same day, there were finally people who could be seen outside, working.
