My Magical System

Chapter 316: Miasmatic Colony

Sol flew; she approached the pit. A pitch-black sword materialized in her hand. It was the Soul Reaping Sword.

When Sol poured some of her magical energy into it, the sword shone with black light. There was an eerie cold sensation from it. Looking at its appearance, it gave off a feeling that it could cut any physical or nonphysical object.

When Sol lifted the sword upward, the dragon's eyes suddenly opened, looking somewhat alarmed.

To everyone's surprise, they heard a voice that seemed directly coming from their minds. "Wait! Stop!" This shocked everyone, especially Zennie.

They saw the dragon suddenly open its eyes.

Sol's eyes gleamed, seemingly having no intention to stop.

Eman understood Sol's action. It looked like except for him, the others didn't understand the dragon's words. Hearing it, it seemed like an ancient language. However, language barriers are meaningless for him.

Before Sol could bring forth her attack to punish her opponent, she heard a telepathic message. |Sol, that's enough.|

She glanced at Eman who gave her a slight nod in return.

|Alright.|

Sol smiled sweetly.

With the flick of her hand, the Soul Reaping Sword disappeared.

From the sky, Sphin descended. They landed in front of the dragon. Zennie asked him if it was safe but Eman assured her that it was fine. Zennie trusted him. Eman jumped first then Zennie.

Sol also descended from the air and landed on the other side of Eman.

Looking at the dragon, its fierce red eyes a while ago had finally disappeared, replaced by yellow and azure reptilian eyes. Aside from that, the murderous aura it released a while ago had vanished.

Sol's attack probably dispelled the control-type magic it was under.

Zennie was still wary though, after all, it was a fierce creature. Even though Miss Sol beat it, the dragon in front of them didn't seem to be in pain. Aside from the huge swelling on its head, probably due to the crash, there seems to be no serious injury to it.

When Eman opened his mouth, Zennie looked a little startled.

"Can you tell us what happened, why a strong creature like you was in such a state a while ago?" Eman didn't beat around the bush, forbidding any pleasantries, and immediately asked about the main issue in a normal way, not using telepathy.

The dragon blinked its eyes, it was taken aback that a human could speak the same language it speaks. When he said "stop" a while ago, he didn't expect for them to understand him.

After fixing its posture, the dragon's aura suddenly looked solemn. It began pondering. "Hm… my memory is murky, but I do have a vague memory of an event from the past. It happened one day when I was resting in my dwelling. A group of masked humans intruded into my dwelling and chanted forbidden magic. After that, my mind went blank." The dragon looked helpless as he said in a voice full of regret.

Eman frowned. "Can you recall when it happened?"

"If I remember correctly, it happened on the 25th day of the second month of autumn."

"I see," Eman said, then pondered. "Are you sure they are humans? What if they are demons using humans as a disguise?"

Upon hearing Eman's question, the dragon's voice suddenly rumbled. "That's impossible! Don't underestimate my sense of smell. No one can hide anything from me." The dragon's telepathic voice resounded in their minds. While saying that, Eman noticed the guardian dragon's gaze turned toward Sol, and the dragon widened its eyes.

However, before it could say anything, Eman quickly took its attention away from her.

At that moment, a pop-up text appeared in Eman's vision, in front of him. System told him that dragons, especially guardian dragons, have an exceptional sense of smell.

"I see."

The dragon harrump. "Hmpf!"

Glancing at the black-haired lass, the dragon wondered why the lass smelled like a beast. And yet, no matter how the dragon looked at her, she looked very human. The most unusual thing about her was her strength. It is very extraordinary. It wasn't easy to knock him, but this girl did that at ease!?

However, the young man with them is the most peculiar one. His calmness gave even a proud dragon a chill. It is very unusual for a human to be this calm in front of him. Most humans would tremble and cower in fear once they caught sight of him. Yet, two of them looked very calm, looking somewhat nonchalant to his presence.

Among the three of them, only the blue-haired girl seemed normal. Zennie was trying to suppress her trembling. If not because of Eman and Sol, she would have already run away long ago.

Eman's eyes narrowed slightly. "Do you have any idea of their motive?"

"How would I know!"

Eman shrugged his shoulders.

He was curious as to why such a group did that to the dragon but it seemed the dragon didn't know as well.

He also tried asking whether the dragon recognized them, or whether he saw a weird mark on their skin. The dragon shook its head and told him that their bodies were patched in a dark cloth that fully covered their skin, so naturally, it was difficult to see anything from them.

Hearing that, Eman felt dejected. It looked like he couldn't get more information.

Before ending the conversation, he asked whether the dragon still wanted to fight them.

The dragon vehemently shook his head.

Zennie looked confused. She didn't understand anything the dragon said. Eman on the other hand conversed with it using their common language.

"Eman, you understood its words!?" She asked.

Eman nodded with a "yes".

"Really?! What did it say?!" Zennie widened her eyes in disbelief. For her, Eman's understanding of the guardian dragon's words was as shocking as Sol's beating the dragon.

Sol could only chuckle at Zennie's reaction. For her, Eman was someone who was standing at the apex of the world.

"It says…" Eman then explained to them what the dragon said to him.

"I see. So that's what it said."

"Anyway, I think it's about time to leave. We cannot delay any more."

"Ah! You're right!" Zennie snapped, finally remembering their main objective.

Sol also nodded. Eman is correct. Since the dragon didn't want to fight anymore, there was no use staying here.

When they were about to leave, the dragon suddenly raised his voice, "Wait, maybe they are after that thing!"

Eman and the others glanced at each other after turning back at the dragon. "Oh, what thing?" He suddenly felt excited.

"Giant beehive!" The Dragon roared.

When Eman noticed the change in the dragon's aura, his curiosity had ignited once again.

"Can you tell me about it?"

"Yeah, they are a species called Miasmatic Colony!"
