When the flash drive was loaded, Jin opened the drive folder, which was filled with thirty-two gigabytes of memory.

The moment the drive folder was opened, Jin's screen was flooded with hundreds of PDF files from top to bottom, arranged in a 'detail' format.

With a bad feeling in his gut, Jin opened a random document, and his heart sank the very next moment as rows of boring text filled his screen.

'Do I really have to read all this…' Jin tried reading a few lines, but the biological technicalities that were written in the text to ease the writing process for the writer all went above his head.

'I can't do this!... There must be something other than those document files in here.' With this thought, Jin closed the document file and scrolled downwards, all in a quest to discover something understandable.

His quest wasn't in vain as he soon found three video files at the bottom.

"Finally, something that I can understand! Why wasn't this at the top?!" Jin snorted and read the names of the three video files.

They were simply named Video1, Video2, and Video3, so Jin was easily able to understand which one he needed to watch first.

He clicked on the first video file, and the video player launched the file on his screen. It began with a person narrating something.

"If you're watching this…"

Before the video had even started properly, Jin couldn't help but exclaim with widened eyes the very next moment and paused the video.

"Father?!!"

'I never thought I'd be able to hear his voice again,' Jin thought as he saw the young face of his father on the screen and took a deep sigh.

A few seconds later, after adjusting his emotion, he started the video again.

"...then it means I'm dead. I'm a senior virologist working for Zenith Biotech, and my aim in making this video series is to expose the wrongdoings done by this organisation. It's better to show you."

With that said, Jin's father switched to the back camera of his phone and showed the huge room where he was.

It was a bright hall with rows and rows of naked human bodies hanging above the floor.

Metal rods were extended downward from the ceiling with hooks on their ends, and these hooks clutched the shoulder blades of everyone present.

Around these metal rods, various transparent tubes were coiled, which moved spirally downwards towards the bodies and were plugged into the backs of their necks.

Through these tubes, liquids of different colours were flowing into the bodies of these people.

"...This place is called the 'Test Bed' by us. The humans you see are people of different ethnicities who have been brought here illegally.

If you try to search around, you would find that they all had been declared dead and were donated to some hospitals for research purposes.

The truth, however, was that they were all alive and were brought here. We use them to test various viruses on them and then make a suitable vaccine.

Once that is done, we introduce the virus into society and earn a profit by selling the vaccines.

It's a pretty large-scale activity, so of course, the top-most leaders of government organisations are aware of it, but since they too want to eat the profits, they keep their mouths shut. That's how we, Zenith Biotech, have secured our topmost position in the pharma industry."

While he was stating all this, he was walking in that huge hall and in the video, close glimpses of all the hanging bodies were clear for all to see.

They all looked emaciated, with their skin almost kissing their bones. While some had their eyes closed, others were blinking slowly.

They all were sedated and were made to go through this agony until they lost their lives.

"Since vaccine creation is a complicated process, it's natural for most of these subjects to die within three months, and after that, a fresh batch of subjects is brought and we work with them until they too end up the same way.

While cruel, all this couldn't be compared to the new virus, which we are working on, which you'll see in the next video."

With that said, the video was over.

The frown that had developed over Jin's face as he watched the video deepened at the end, and he immediately opened the next one.

The video showed a rat that was placed inside a glass container, and the voice of Jin's father came from behind the camera.

"The new virus, which we are working on, is still not ready for human introduction, but as far as the rats are concerned, we've fully developed a finished product. Let me introduce the virus into this rat's system first, wait a second."

A greyish gas was soon introduced into the glass container as the rat made a run towards the other side of the glass to escape the gas cloud, but it was all in vain.

A while later, when the residual gas was pumped out, the rat was still in the same condition as before.

"The virus we are making works in two components. Right now, the first component is introduced into the system of this rat. It will slowly latch itself onto the white blood cells and lower its immunity with time. Now I'll be showing you another rat that had been introduced to this virus a month ago."

With that said, the camera's focus was soon shifted to another rat, which was trapped in a similar container. It looked totally normal.

"Nothing has happened to it yet, and it is clearly unaware of the virus that has been introduced into its body. Now, let me introduce the second component of the virus."

PSHHH

A few droplets of the virus, which looked similar to water in colour, were diffused inside the glass container.

The video was then fast-forwarded as a timer appeared on the screen.

In two hours, the rat started coughing out blood. After eight hours, it had lost all its fur, then its skin became inflamed and started peeling off by itself while the rat convulsed in pain.

After 22 hours, not even a day after the virus's introduction, the rat was dead.
