Chapter 209: Selecting a Script (E)
After lunch, they returned to the office and got busy with their work once again. Jin was again tasked with the ginormous task of sifting through the scripts, which he, although reluctant, did diligently.
A few hours passed, and it was half past three in the afternoon. Lethargy could be seen in both Jin's and Dylan's actions, but they still kept doing their work.
At that moment, Jin finally got his hands on an interesting script.
Fading Away
His attention was immediately attracted when he read the title and soon opened it up to read the summary.
It was a story of a middle-aged man who learns that he's suffering from Alzheimer's, and his scheduled life gets scattered. It touched upon internal realisation, familiar conflict and gradual acceptance of the incoming doom.
'This is it!" Jin exclaimed in excitement and passed the script to Dylan.
Dylan read through the script, "Interesting, the main character is a middle-aged man, but that won't pose a problem since we can rely on a makeup artist for that.
The plot looks emotionally engaging, but it is on the duller side. Because of your fame, we can depend upon your fans to watch it anyway, and this would lead to a snowball effect and make the movie popular…"
Dylan muttered to himself as he went through the script and finally nodded his head, "Alright, let me give a call to the director."
Dylan called the number on the script and got in touch with the director. And started discussing the role auditions soon after.
"Oh, the auditions, we can do it tomorro-" Dylan paused when he saw Jin shaking his head vehemently and changed his words.
"Uhm…how about the day after tomorrow?" Dylan asked the director while also asking Jin with an ok gesture.
Jin nodded to show his agreement, and Dylan soon noted down the address before finalising everything.
"How come you don't have time tomorrow?" Dylan couldn't help but ask.
"Oh, that? I just remembered that I had something to do, so I'll be going out of the city tomorrow and will most probably be back by night," Jin said. It was better to retrieve the flash drive as soon as possible.
"Make sure to book a driver then," Dylan glared at Jin the next moment. Since they had already decided on the next film, Dylan didn't mind Jin's one day off.
"I'll think about it." Jin stretched his hands up in the air as he stood up.
It was four in the evening by now, and he decided to call it a day since his job here was done. "I'll be going then,"
"Alright." Dylan nodded with a snort and passed the script back to Jin so that he could go through it for the audition the day after tomorrow.
Jin drove back to the hotel in the rental car, much to Dylan's frustration. Since he hadn't worked out in a while, his body was itching to get some exercise.
Going to his room, Jin soon changed into workout clothes and wore the shoes Brown had given him and others to maintain their swift steps proficiency.
'Well, I'll end up breaking the treadmill if I run with these shoes on the belt,' Jin thought after wearing the shoes, grabbed a cap the next moment, and decided to go out for a run.
It was only after four hours that he returned to the hotel's lobby drenched in sweat. Not minding the weird gazes that were directed towards him, Jin soon made his way to the 8th floor, where his room was and freshened up.
"I feel alive again!" Jin exclaimed in relief as he got out of the bathroom and enjoyed the cold air from the air conditioner on his bare skin.
After changing into a new pair of clothes, he opened up his phone to see any replies.
Seeing that it was still empty, he could only smile bitterly and lie on the bed. Having nothing much to do, his mind naturally wandered.
Earlier, when he was running on the cycle track next to the road, he saw several cars which stood out on the road. They all had a slick logo on their bonnet, which Jin was familiar with.
'Business must be blooming for her,' Jin thought with a smirk and decided to text Flora.
Just returned yesterday and thought of you after exercising
Jin sent the text with a smiling emoji, and the very next moment, he got a call from Flora.
"Well, that was quick,' Jin muttered and picked up his phone.
"After ignoring my calls for the past three months, you finally decided to pick it up, huh?" A snort came from the other side of the phone.
"Haha, I'm sorry about that. I had my phone switched off for a while, and when I turned it on, it got flooded with so many messages that I just couldn't check them all," Jin chuckled while apologising.
A sigh came from the other side of the phone, "Anyways, what have you been up to in these three months?"
"Exploring the deserts mostly, was quite fun. How about you?" Jin answered with a smirk.
"From the way you sound, it must have been. I was, of course, filled with more and more work after the cars' release, but thanks to that, in just three months our sales have risen to become a top electric car maker in Valeyria, and also in Roscosta, we have risen to the top 10, and it will continue to rise."
Flora said with exhilaration as he told her deeds to Jin.
"That's crazy good. So your aim now is to become the world number one huh?" Jin asked while fully impressed with her achievements in these three months.
"Not quite so. With our engines being the most efficient in the market, it is only a matter of time, at most a year, for GA Electric to become the leading car seller in the world.
Talks are already in place with various governments for several thousand charging stations, so this goal is as good as already achieved," Flora stated plainly.
"Oh? Then what are you aiming for now?" Jin asked with a curious frown on his face. Knowing her, he knew she would definitely be aiming for something much greater.
"Now that I can see that my father's company can sustain itself, I will finally aim to fulfil the dream which I had as a fresh mechanical engineering graduate," Flora paused a little and finally stated with a shimmering eye, "World's First Private Space Company."
