My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 630

Anton and Anders spent two hours in the "Special Forces" training center being grilled by the wizards regarding everything that Anton had seen in the kingdom of Mendoza before he was forced to run. Everyone looked grim, especially during the parts when he told them about the Divine Rank wizard of Mendoza running away.

He knew that the Ormundan Wizards already knew everything Anton had been reporting, but it was as if he, actually stating that he had seen it and reported it to them out loud made everything real. He could understand because he, too, did not want to believe that a powerful kingdom like Mendoza could easily fall to the clutches of the Undead Coalition.

After he had reported everything he had seen, the wizards dismissed him. When Anton asked what step Ormunda would take next, since he wanted to continue volunteering in the fight against the undead, he was told that information was still being collected and that the decision on what Ormunda would do next would be disseminated to the general populous in the next few hours.

Once he was outside the room where Anton reported everything, the soldier who brought him joined him again in leaving.

"I wouldn't worry about Ormunda too much, young soldier. We're quite sure that the next target of the Undead Coalition is going to be New Drennor simply because it's nearer to them, and if they conquer the port city, it would be easier for the Coalition to continue their conquest," The major said.

"Don't worry, don't worry! I hate hearing that platitude! That's what the wizards of Mendoza kept saying when I complained that their passivity would cause their downfall, and I was right. They kept telling me, "Don't worry, we're guarded by powerful wizards!", and then, the first sign of conflict, they all ran away. Hmmph," Anton complained under his breath.

The soldier ignored him and just led him outside. Once Anton and Anders were back at home in the Rose Manor, they went to Anders's office.

"So, you're still planning to join the fight against the undead?" Anders commented.

"Of course. I will fight to the end until the coalition is gone from this continent, or else, I will not be at peace. If I'm being honest, what I truly wanted was to live my life peacefully, sharing movies, television shows, animes and books with everyone, holding cosplay conventions, maybe helping people invent things that would allow us to spread the culture of that other dimension where I've been stealing the movies from, but unfortunately, I can't do any of that because I felt that none of us are safe. The threat of the Undead Coalition always loomed above us, and because of that, I can't truly plan my future," Anton said grimly to his father.

"If that major is correct that the Coalition will attack New Drennor first, then I will continue delving into the dungeon together with my men so by the time they attack Ormunda, I will be powerful enough to be of help," Anders said softly.

"It's as if you believe that New Drennor will also fall, father," Anton laughed, laced with a sad tinge.

"I think I'm beginning to fully accept your theory, Anton, about us living inside a last sanctuary, fighting the undead. When that happens, I would prefer to have enough power to make a little difference in that war," Anders said sadly.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Should we share the information with the family?" Anton asked his father.

"Yes. I want everyone to know what happened in Mendoza and not depend on the rumors that would circulate after the authorities disseminate the information to the general population. I want them to be prepared. I had hoped that Luna and Alfred would grow up without worrying about the undead, just like what happened to you and Anna, but I guess we can't keep them safe anymore from knowing the situation. I will announce it during dinner and share everything you shared with everyone. I will also write Anna a letter. What about you, son? What's your next plan?"

"I will wait for whatever decision Ormunda will make. Once they form an army to assist in fighting the undead, I will join it. At least this time, I can go home immediately because of my portal."

"By the way, I forgot to tell you, Anton. My team and I have a semi-permanent portal in one of the rooms in the hotel near the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon. I used a town portal scroll and simply did not close it. It saved us a lot of time traveling from home to the dungeon. I made sure that the room where the portal is located will not be disturbed."

"That's fine, father, as long as you don't hesitate to use a portal scroll if you and your team are in danger," Anton said, and he gave Anders the rest of the town portal scroll that he had collected so far.

After dinner that night, everyone looked frightened when Anders announced the news that Mendoza had fallen to the Undead Coalition. They all looked relieved that Anton managed to get home safely, even under the eyes of the most powerful undead wizards. Anders did not spare any details and shared everything that Anton had shared. Anders even shared with everyone the speculation that once the coalition had settled Mendoza, their next attack would probably be New Drennor, but he still told everyone to prepare themselves because nothing was set in stone, and that there was a possibility that the next kingdom that would be attacked next was Ormunda."

"What should we do in the meantime?" Romina asked.

"We will live our lives that way we've been living them, since there's nothing more we can do. I want all of you to remember that Ormunda is the mightiest kingdom in the Gale Continent, and even if we were attacked by the undead, the kingdom would not lose," Anders announced loudly to instill courage in everyone.

Anton's father then continued telling everyone how powerful the kingdom was and had given detailed examples like the size of its armies, the number of its wizards and powerful warriors, and the number of high-ranking wizards that no organization in the world could match.

Anton did not know if Anders was telling the truth when it came to Ormunda being unmatched, but everything else his father said was simply the truth. Ormunda was the most powerful kingdom in the Gale Continent.

After the announcement, Anton and Anders went to one of the manor's salons overlooking the garden, followed by the rest of the family. Anton understood that everyone wanted to find comfort in each other's presence. Once they were in the Salon, everyone asked Anton questions regarding what he had seen in Mendoza, and he told them everything. His daily life when he was there. About the nightly attacks by the undead. About telling one of the Supreme Wizards that being passive was a mistake, which turned out to be true. About having to give tablets of summoning to Mendoza every day, and a lot more. He even included some funny situations that occurred, like how the warriors of Mendoza thought that his summons were immortal beings that suddenly appeared.

"What are tablets summoning?" Alfred asked, and Anton explained to the boy about his dire wolf summoning tablets.

He then gave Luna and Alfred tablets to summon a tiny spirit wolf and a tiny raven, and when the tiny summons appeared, the siblings were ecstatic. When Anton saw that Romina, Bruce, and Susan looked a little envious, he also gave them tablets of their own. At least, the fear that had been surrounding everyone lessened because of the adorable, tiny animal constructs.
