Moon Valley's Legendary Farmer

147~Linen Curtains (1)

Yvlena returned to the old training room with her weaving loom and her needle out to begin working on the thread bare, moth eaten curtains. There were four pairs of curtains in total, meaning she would have to work on at least eight pieces of fabric.

"My crafting is about to level up a lot today." She sighed.

There were no chairs in the training room, so Yvlena made herself comfortable on the newly mopped floor and began looking through her inventory for the Linen curtain recipe she had gotten from Madame Pratt.

A simple linen curtain used in most households. Made from linen, it is easily gotten from common fibers and thus easy and inexpensive to repair, unlike other materials such as silk or velvet.

"Ten whole rolls for one curtain!" Yvlena groaned. She winced hard, but seeing as the game had not yet notified her of Soren's efforts to upgrade her weapon, there was nothing else for her to do.

Yvlena wove, taking the countless pieces of fiber from her inventory that seemed useless at the time and creating rolls of Linen.

"By the time my crafting's leveled up, I just might be able to craft that silk rag I need!" With this realization dawning on her, Yvlena doubled her effort, weaving the fiber until she had made her first twenty rolls.

"Ugh!" She groaned, standing up to pull the first set of curtains from their rail. The fabric slid off easily, falling faster than Yvlena could catch. It fell with a swish, covering the elven girl in soft, dusty linen. Much to her annoyance.

"Yuck!"

"Ouch! Demoted to linen rags is a bit harsh, but now that I'm looking at this, there's very little of the curtain that isn't damaged." Yvlena said as she held the large pieces of fabric up to her eyes. Not only was the thread coming apart, but large holes filled the surface of the cloth. So large she could put her hand through.

Out of the pair of curtains, there was only just enough to create more linen rags for Yvlena to use in cleaning the other rooms.

"Might have to invest in a pair of scissors next, or even a little crafting kit." Thoughts of a cute little sewing kit filled her mind, causing her to grab her face and squeal in delight. In that moment, Yvlena was momentarily distracted from the curtain she had to weave.

Once she snapped out of it, she looked out the window she had just undressed. The training room's window faced another side of the manor she had not yet attended to, it was completely overgrown, seemingly even worse than the front of the manor she had only just fixed up.

"More trees to chop down and more weeds to pull." Yvlena deadpanned as she began weaving the replacement curtains.

[Subclass Skill: Crafting Leveled Up]

"That's what I like to see." Yvlena said with a proud smirk on her face. In an instant, she fixed both of them on the rack and allowed the game to lift the metal rail back into its rightful place. The new white curtains stood out admits the others, marking a glaring contrast in what needed to be repaired.

Yvlena knew fixing it up would only make her skills grow, besides, it was long overdue.

She knew the Rose Manor was her most neglected area when it came to the duties of the Harvest Guardian. She could only imagine what Rael or even Lilian would say when they saw the state of their beloved manor.

"Hey man, it wasn't me that abandoned this place." Yvlena said in her defense. Rael had, after all, disappeared without telling a soul, and it was up to Beatrice to confer the status on a stranger who went out foraging.

Yvlena got to work weaving another twenty linen rolls for the next pair of curtains, working to ensure her crafting reached a sufficient level before she went to collect even more spider silk. It would be a waste of time if all she made was poor silk again.

"I didn't even use the Adiri specs to check the quality of my linen rolls, for all I know, I would have to do all this work again very soon." Yvlena said, wincing at the thought of having to weave so much again.

"Let's take a look with the specs." She said.

"A D+, that's the highest quality I've made so far! I think that last time I crafted something it was a solid F." Yvlena said in excitement. The feeling of seeing your skills go up was always great to her.

She changed out the curtains once more, netting herself two more large linen rags.

"Now I only have two more pairs of curtains to work on, but let me take a break first." She said, placing the loom back into her inventory. Even though she couldn't feel pain within the game, her finger tips had developed a strange sensation from all the weaving.

There was no hint from the game that Soren had finished with her sickle, so Yvlena went outside to tend to her plants.

----------

The fresh air was like a balm to Yvlena's skin,a soft wind blew through the manor grounds, carrying with it the scent of the flowers from her garden.

With the Garden Mystic perk, Yvlena spotted some of the more common flowers had bloomed and were ready to harvest.

She smiled. If only she could live in Moon Valley, she would find Mars's Avatar in the game and spend time with her that way. Yvlena shook her head, it was a silly idea. The closest anyone could come to living in Moon Valley would be a gaming pod.

She walked over to her patch and began picking out the herbs in full bloom.

"I'll need to clear out the back area for a bunch more wild seeds, or fight some Horned Rabbits in the Bloom Forest. I wonder, does the temple in the forest accept flower offerings?" Yvlena thought.

With the thoughts racing through her mind, Yvlena yawned. Maybe it was time to log out for the day. Mars might have been sleeping by now, too.

She turned to the house and said.

"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere." She joked.
