Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 053 | Summoning and the Embarrassed Vampire

Returning to their private quarters, Damien placed the slumbering crimson-haired vampire in her comfy white bed and sighed to himself upon seeing her peaceful, dozing expression. He recalled his discussion with the seventh Paragon regarding her sustenance of blood.

It was something he'd rather avoid, but since Hecate was his partner. There was no circumventing it. Staring at the pale and beautiful face of the sleeping vampire, he shifted strands of her crimson hair before stepping out of her private quarters.

'I should talk to her about it once she awakens from her sleep.' Damien thought and entered his private quarters, which were less lavish compared to those of the SIGIL Headquarters. But Block 7 had barely begun; there were many things they needed to do.

Even their tower wasn't renovated yet, so expecting a luxurious room was foolish and ignorant of their current circumstance.

Removing his black suit and fedora, he changed to his usual and ordinary clothing before hopping to his bed. While not completely exhausted, he would be lying if he didn't acknowledge he was a bit weary from the operation.

'I should check out the summoning first before taking a nap.' Damien was roused from his weary state, and a thought immediately opened the status display in front of his perception.

He had regenerated a fraction of his Command Seals, though it was far from becoming completely full. Complete recovery should have taken a day, but he didn't find it troublesome since there was not much to do later on. Instead, his attention was consumed by the Terror Points.

No matter how much he ignored it. His eyes couldn't help but slide towards it like a lecherous uncle. It was understandable as his Terror Points numbered half of ten thousand. The weight of wondering how to grow his strength had faded from his shoulders.

After all, the hefty Terror Points would make an augmented dent to his personal and summoning power. At any rate, there was no time to waste. He promptly called for the summoning banner.

The status display shifted, replaced by the summoning display.

| Summon Banner |

-| Terrestrial (100 TP) |

-| Paranormal (500 TP) |

-| Extraterrestrial (1000 TP) |

<| Terror Point(s) : 5241 |>

---

If he took the specialization path of using quantity to get lucky in the summoning banner, he could have over 50 Terrestrial Summoning, 10 Paranormal Summoning, and 5 Extraterrestrial Summoning.

Obviously, 50 Terrestrial Summoning would ensure at least three-star or four-star summoned monsters. However, one aspect evoked a sense of resistance to it. It was the fact that duplicates could be made.

'I could use the duplicates to further evolve my monsters through fusion, but I also need versatility. I have been relying on the Terrestrial Banner since the beginning, and it has been cost-effective.'

'But one can never be great without taking risks.' Damien turned his attention towards the Paranormal and Extraterrestrial Banner. He wouldn't splurge everything on these two, but he would, without a doubt, use them. 'Let me be lucky...'

Before starting the summoning, he readied his heart and hardened his resolve. No matter what, he wouldn't let it affect him too much. After all, it was only a matter of time.

'Purchase 1 spin for the Extraterrestrial Banner, 4 spins for the Paranormal Banner, and 20 spins for the Terrestrial Banner.' With a thought, Damien was almost bankrupt. Nevertheless, the path to power wasn't without its sacrifices. He was lucky; he merely needed to spend Terror Points.

A giant wheel filled to the brim with monsters materialized before his sable-tinted eyes. As his heart pounded, he started the long-awaited summoning sequence. It began rotating, accelerating as the seconds ticked by.

On the other hand, the crimson-haired girl felt herself rousing from her deep slumber. Her eyelids opened, uncovering a pair of velvet irises glistening like rubies. She rubbed her eyes, yawning as she fully awakened and rose from the embrace of her comfortable bed.

"What happened?" As Hecate stretched her arms upward, she couldn't help but mutter under her breath. It didn't take long for her mind to recall what had happened after she annihilated the Winston Family.

The activation of her Blood Technique exhausted her to the last drop of her stamina. She couldn't even move a single muscle as they ached from fatigue. But as memories surged to her mind, the crimson-haired girl couldn't help but furrow her eyebrows.

Her behavior during the operation was troublesome. It was abnormal as she was trained to remain calm no matter the situation. During her confrontation with the Patriarch and the infamous mercenary, she was far from calm. Her emotions were spiking for some unknown reason.

'Is it because of the blood?' Hecate hadn't drunk blood for the entirety of her life. The reason was the sense of dread about what she would become once she tasted the crimson wine.

According to her older peers, it was addictive.

Rumors had it that once a vampire tasted their first blood. They would never be able to forget it and would continue feeding upon it until the very end of their so-called immortal lifetime.

"But my self-control isn't weak enough to be affected by blood. There should be another reason." Hecate mumbled as she pondered what it could be. Then, a realization struck her out of nowhere. There was something or someone that could affect her.

'Ancient progenitor...' She wasn't ignorant about the inner workings of her body. The old one sealed within her wouldn't wait for the best moment to free itself. Instead, they would create that moment themselves.

"Subtle manipulation, huh? Making me prone to mistakes. I cannot believe I actually used my Blood Technique on a small fry." Hecate felt her cheeks heating up as she blushed from the embarrassment of being foolish.

Her confrontation with the infamous mercenary had been weighted in her favor against the adversary. Even if she was somewhat injured by the mercenary, it shouldn't constitute an imprinted domain.

She didn't even dare face her master or her partner. The fact that she actually lost consciousness in the middle of an operation was beyond saving. Even if she had completed it, she blacked out near the crater she had brought to the world.

The crimson-haired girl was fortunate to have her master pick her up after losing consciousness. Otherwise, her circumstances would have become troublesome. With this in mind, she gathered her resolve and stepped out of her comfortable bed.

"I need to thank and apologize to my master." Hecate barely kept her balance as she left the confines of her private quarters and walked towards the office of the seventh Paragon.

As she marched through the hallway, she noticed the front door of her partner's private quarters. The crimson-haired girl halted for a moment before calming herself and continuing on her way. She needed to meet her master first.

It didn't take long for the vampire to arrive at the office near the summit. She entered the room and saw two gorgeous ladies discussing the future of New Janus together. Straightening her back, she lightly bowed towards the white-haired lady.

"Thank you for picking me up, Miss Alastair!"

Alastair grinned at the crimson-haired girl and responded. "It is good to see you awake, Hecate. Damien just carried you to your private quarters not too long ago." Her intention was clear, and it was effective.

Once again, the crimson-haired vampire felt her cheeks warming up and becoming scarlet red. She shook her head and sharpened her gaze. "I am truly grateful, Miss Alastair. If it wasn't for you, who knows what could have happened."

Hecate understood the implications and didn't want to minimize what her master did for her. Alastair merely chuckled and waved her hand. "It was nothing. Instead, you should solve an integral problem that could affect your future."

The crimson-haired vampire lowered her head, understanding what the seventh Paragon meant. If she wanted to capitalize on her fighting capabilities, drinking blood was unavoidable.

To keep fighting with her master and the Block 7, it didn't matter if she was uncomfortable with the prospect. It must be done no matter the cost. She also didn't want to become a burden to her partner.

"No need to have that kind of face, Hecate. I have already discussed your situation with Damien. A solution has already been proposed. What is crucial is your agreement or disagreement with it." Alastair pointed at the crimson-haired girl.

"Huh?" Hecate was confused, wondering what her master meant. A discussion with her partner? Why? What did her state have to do with him? Questions couldn't help but pop into her mind as she raced for answers.

"Quite dense, aren't you, Hecate?" Alastair smirked and continued. "As your partner, he will become your blood bank. At the very least, you wouldn't worry about losing yourself during a battle with him around."

From that moment, Hecate froze on the spot, unable to believe what she had heard through her ears. She gazed upon her master, wishing that she had misheard everything. But staring at the seventh Paragon's arrogant expression, there was nothing to doubt about it.

She clenched her teeth, barely containing whatever emotion flooded her mind and heart. Unfortunately, the dam broke apart and all of the imprisoned emotions escaped from their shackles.

"WHAT!"
