Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 052 | Reports, Orders, and Strategies

Standing before the seventh Paragon of the SIGIL, Damien straightened his back and reported a summary of the operation against the criminal syndicate of the Rotte Family. "I assaulted their outer defenses and attracted the attention of most of their forces."

"Afterward, I infiltrated their compound and released the captured civilians abducted by them. One of the civilians reported the existence of a noble, so I decided to terminate it."

"With the execution of the vampire, I proceeded to confirm that no civilians remained in the compound. Utilizing my abilities, I completely annihilated the secured compound of the Rotte Family alongside their criminal syndicate."

"Other than subdiaries or allied criminal groups under them, the Rotte Family should be completely terminated from New Janus." His report was concise, highlighting the crucial details required by his boss.

Alastair nodded in satisfaction and remarked with a trace of nonchalance. "Good job for taking care of the criminal syndicate in the southern district. The western district has already been taken care of. It was a complete victory, though a two-hundred-meter crater emerged from it."

Her supple lips curled into an arrogant smirk. "It seems that I have been disregarding my student for quite a while. The ancient progenitor managed to awaken after she was exhausted."

"It appears that our sealed lady has been tacitly manipulating the emotions of our junior." She gazed at her Aberrant, wanting to hear his opinion about the circumstances of their cute vampire.

Damien raised an eyebrow and took a short glance at the crimson-haired girl deep in slumber. "The manipulation shouldn't be absolute. Otherwise, the ancient progenitor would have already been freed from Hecate's body."

"This means that her current status is weakening. Perhaps, it might be the result of her blood fasting." Although doubtful, he trusted the integrity of the seal. His words made the silver-haired lady's grin widen. "You're correct... My vampire is hungry for blood."

"It appears that she has been restraining herself well for the past few days. But the recent operation probably rattled her psyche, giving a chance for the ancient progenitor to subtly manipulate my student."

"What do you think shall be done, Francine?" Alastair turned her attention towards the gorgeous secretary standing beside her. Francine adjusted her golden-tinted eyeglasses and responded. "Give her blood."

"As a member of the seventh division of SIGIL, it is our duty that none of those under our authority be starved into death. For this reason, Hecate must be given blood to feed herself upon."

Alastair nodded in agreement and continued. "Fighting consumes energy, so if she wants to last on the battlefield. She must be satiated before the fight. Unfortunately, I cannot acquire bloodbags without attracting some authorities."

"I also don't want to use the blood of our adversaries since I heard that the quality of what they feed upon tends to affect them one way or the other." The seventh Paragon was heading towards a particular direction.

And Damien wasn't ignorant about it. He raised his eyebrows while Alastair merely maintained her arrogant smirk and stared at him with her pearl-like eyes. Sighing, he begrudgingly questioned. "You want me to feed her?"

"Can an Aberrant even feed a vampire?" His worries weren't unfounded, since despite the similarities between himself and humans. His body was composed of aetheric matter, whether it'd be from the inside or outside.

Even if he wanted to help his junior, Damien wasn't confident in using his blood, especially when he was unaware of how much it would affect Hecate.

As though expecting his question, Alastair nodded at Francine, who placed a file before the black-suited young man. It was intelligence about how True Bloods sometimes utilized the blood of Aberrants on special occasions. Without a doubt, it was possible.

Taking the blood of Aberrants wasn't impossible, but it was difficult and resource-consuming. This should be the reason why even the True Bloods rarely drank the blood of abominations.

"Regardless, even with my agreement, I doubt that Hecate will accept your preparations, Miss Alastair." After spending time with his junior, Damien gained a general understanding of who she was.

Although somewhat timid, she was stubborn on one thing, and that was the subject of her consuming blood. Most vampires could continue their existence without drinking blood. However, none of them would be able to fight without passing out from exhaustion.

After all, no matter how enduring their regeneration was, they weren't Aberrants. No one would be able to release far more energy than what was consumed. The strongest of vampires tainted themselves with blood.

It was an inevitability for those who wish to climb to the summit of their species.

"That is for you to solve, Damien." Alastair pointed at the black-suited young man, who shook his head in exasperation. "Don't throw the problem at me, Miss Alastair. Wouldn't be awkward if I were the one trying to feed my blood upon her?"

The beautiful silver-haired lady merely grinned at his remark and stated. "This isn't about how awkward your relationship becomes, Damien. It is about trust and understanding. The two of you are partners. Pillars of one another."

"As long as one of you remains standing, no one will fall to their demise. Besides, would you want to see your junior sucking the blood of someone else?" Alastair waved her hand, prompting Damien to furrow his eyebrows. "Alright, I'll see the end of this decision."

After taking his time thinking about it, he sighed in resignation and walked towards the slumbering vampire. Without hesitation, he carried her out of the office, heading towards the personal quarters deep within the looming tower.

Alastair and Francine were left behind; silence pervaded every corner of the office. The clock continued ticking as the gorgeous secretary glanced at the seventh Paragon of Block 7. "Are you sure about this path, Miss Alastair?"

"What? Are you jealous, Francine?" The white-haired lady grinned at her second-in-command, who uncharacteristically pouted. Chuckling at the sight, she explained her reasoning. "The two of them will be the pillars of Block 7 and the future."

"But not everyone can stand alone against the tide that is destiny. I am simply helping my subordinates build their necessary relationship. The burden of humanity isn't meant to be carried by a single person."

A peculiar sense of melancholy escaped the arrogant stature of the seventh Paragon. Her words weren't only directed at her secretary. It was also pointed out to her, reminding her to not digress from their path.

Clapping her hands, Alastair changed the subject without caring how obvious it was. "In any case, what is the situation regarding the Clan?" Although it was a redirection, it was also an important subject that they needed to tackle.

Francine narrowed her gaze as she adjusted her golden-tinted eyeglasses once again. "News about our arrival in New Janus has spread. But it seems that the Clan is biding their time. Their True Bloods are skirting along our borders, waiting."

"I have a bad feeling. A conspiracy." The gorgeous secretary didn't doubt her instincts and told the seventh Paragon about her thoughts. Alastair nodded in agreement as a cold glint escaped her pearl-like eyes.

"Those corporations from CORE and the Federation, huh?" It wasn't surprising for her. What the leadership of the Federation hated the most was its adversaries and the strongest of humanity. After all, her title alone kept them in check.

"It is a possibility," Alastair placed her pale finger beneath her chin and carefully thought about it. "But what they do does not matter to us. The only thing we needed to do was make the Block 7 stronger."

Worrying about strangers wasn't something the white-haired lady wanted to do; she'd rather ensure that the New Janus would grow into a strong city capable of handling their adversaries in the future.

Alastair turned her gaze towards Francine and inquired. "The assets of the purged families should be lying around, correct?" Hearing her question, the gorgeous secretary nodded in agreement. "Several of their assets should be without an owner."

"Okay, I want you to order the two remaining families to consolidate their power and begin handling the power vacuum left behind by the purge. I also want them to prepare themselves in stepping into the light."

"It should be time to make them legitimate and have my job be easier." Alastair smiled as Francine nodded in agreement to her orders. "I will do as you command, Miss Alastair. Shall I also acquire the integral assets of the cardinal families?"

The integral assets of those families were their real estate. With their wealth, they had bought most of the essential land within New Janus. Some were even vacant lands, unable to be utilized since they were merely investments for the criminal syndicates.

Naturally, Block 7 required real estate to grow, especially when Alastair planned to introduce her business within the city. Her investment company would become the foundation of New Janus as she intended to transform it into a conglomerate.

She wasn't planning to do so because of wealth, but because of the influence and authority of corporations. It wouldn't take long before the hyenas lay their eyes upon the city. After all, it would be a good investment to buy everything within the influence of a Paragon.

"Take them. I want vital real estate to be in our hands. I also want you to start establishing much-needed industries. Get the cardinal families moving if you need their assistance." Alastair gave several commands since New Janus was completely under her authority.

She needed to ensure it would grow under the governance of Block 7 and be able to handle the troubles that would come in the not-so-distant future.
