Chapter 199: Chapter 197:- Eri's Strength Training
Eri had made remarkable progress with her quirk, thanks to Izuku's patient guidance and the safety measures he had put in place. Now, it was time to start the next phase of her training: building her strength and stamina.
Kaina, who had grown very fond of Eri, was tasked with this part of her training. She treated Eri like her own daughter and was determined to help her grow stronger.
Kaina found Eri in the garden, playing with some of her newly restored toys. She approached her with a warm smile. "Hey there, Eri. How about we start some new training today?"
Eri looked up, curiosity in her eyes. "New training?"
Kaina nodded, kneeling beside her. "Yes. We're going to work on building your strength and stamina. It'll help you control your quirk even better. And don't worry, we'll take it slow and make it fun."
Eri's face lit up at the idea of having fun while training. "Okay! What do we do first?"
Kaina led Eri to a small training area that had been set up in the penthouse of the hero tower. There were various equipment pieces, including small weights, a balance beam, and a soft mat for exercises. "We're going to start with some simple exercises. Let's begin with some stretches to warm up."
Eri mimicked Kaina's movements as they stretched their arms and legs. Kaina kept the exercises light and playful, ensuring that Eri enjoyed herself. After the warm-up, they moved on to some basic strength exercises.
"Let's try lifting these small weights," Kaina said, handing Eri a pair of light dumbbells. "We'll start with just a few repetitions."
Eri took the weights with 500 grams written on it and, with some effort, lifted them as Kaina demonstrated. "Like this?"
"Exactly like that," Kaina praised. "You're doing great, Eri. Just a few more."
Eri's face scrunched up in concentration as she completed the repetitions. Her arms felt a bit tired, but Kaina's encouragement kept her going. "I did it!"
"You did! That was wonderful, Eri. Now, let's try some balance exercises," Kaina said, guiding Eri to the balance beam.
Eri carefully stepped onto the beam, wobbling slightly as she tried to find her balance. Kaina stood close by, ready to catch her if she fell. "Take it slow, Eri. One step at a time."
Eri nodded, focusing on her steps. She took each step slowly, her arms outstretched for balance. She wobbled a few times but managed to stay on the beam. "I'm doing it, big sister Kaina!"
Kaina's heart swelled with pride. "Yes, you are! You're doing amazing."
After a few more exercises, Eri began to feel tired. Kaina noticed and decided to end the session on a positive note. "Great job today, Eri. Let's cool down with some stretches."
As they stretched, Kaina spoke softly to Eri. "You're doing so well, Eri. Remember, it's okay to feel tired. We're building your strength bit by bit, we don't need to rush with anything."
Eri looked up at her, a small smile on her face. "Thank you, big sister Kaina."
Kaina hugged Eri gently. "You did great, sweetheart. You're a very strong and brave girl, well just continue doing this for a few days before we do anything else okay?"
"Yes, big sister Kaina," said Eri as she sat on the ground panting.
Over the next few weeks, Kaina and Eri continued their training sessions. Kaina gradually increased the difficulty of the exercises, always keeping Eri's well-being and age in mind.
She introduced new activities like jogging around the area and simple obstacle courses, making sure to keep things fun and engaging for Eri.
One sunny morning, Kaina decided to take Eri on a small jog around the training area. They started with a slow pace, Kaina matching Eri's steps. "Just keep a steady rhythm, Eri. You're doing great."
Eri focused on her breathing as she was taught, trying to keep up with Kaina. The gentle encouragement and steady pace made the jog enjoyable. "This is fun, big sister Kaina!"
"I'm glad you're enjoying it," Kaina replied, smiling. "You're getting stronger every day."
They finished the jog with Eri slightly out of breath but beaming with pride. "I did it!"
Kaina nodded, ruffling Eri's hair. "You sure did. Let's have some water and take a break."
As they sat on a bench, sipping water, Kaina spoke to Eri about the importance of building strength and stamina. "You're doing so well, Eri. These exercises will help you not just with your quirk but also in everyday life. You'll feel stronger and more confident."
Eri nodded, feeling inspired. "I want to be strong, like you and Big Brother Izuku."
"You already have the heart of a strong person," Kaina said gently. "The rest will come with time and practice."
Eri's determination grew with each passing day. She pushed herself in every training session, always eager to show Kaina and Izuku her progress.
Kaina continued to be patient and supportive, treating Eri with the same care and love she would her own child, while also making sure she reaches her optimal and peak human condition as soon as possible.
One afternoon, after a particularly intense training session, Eri felt exhausted but happy. She had managed to complete an entire obstacle course without any help, of course the obstacle course was designed for a 6-7 year old kid and Kaina couldn't have been prouder.
"That was incredible, Eri! You've come so far," Kaina said, hugging her tightly.
Eri hugged back, feeling a warm sense of accomplishment. "Thank you, big sister Kaina. I couldn't have done it without you."
Kaina smiled, her eyes filled with affection. "You're doing it all on your own, Eri. I'm just here to cheer you on."
Eri's strength and stamina continued to improve and so did her proficiency in her quirk. She grew more confident in her abilities, both with her quirk and her physical skills.
Her bond with Kaina deepened, and she began to see her as a motherly figure, someone who would always be there to support and guide her, as she started calling her mother.
Izuku watched Eri's progress with pride and joy. He knew that with Kaina's help, Eri was becoming not just stronger, but also more confident and capable coming out of the lonely and traumatic past. He was grateful for Kaina's dedication and the love she showed Eri.
With each passing week, Eri's physical training with Kaina paid off not only in her increased strength and stamina but also in her control over her quirk, Rewind. The rigorous yet fun exercises had bolstered her confidence and stability, allowing her to experiment more with her powers.
One evening, after a day of successful training, Kaina and Eri decided to show Izuku how much progress Eri had made with her quirk. They set up a demonstration area in the penthouse, with various objects for Eri to practice on.
Eri took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Big Brother Izuku, watch this!" she called out, her eyes sparkling with determination.
Izuku, who had been eagerly waiting to see Eri's progress, smiled warmly. "I'm watching, Eri. Show me what you've got."
Eri extended her hands towards a potted plant. With a focused expression, she activated her quirk. The plant, which was wilting slightly, began to rejuvenate. Leaves that had turned brown reverted to their vibrant green color, and the flowers bloomed brightly once again.
"That's amazing, Eri!" Izuku exclaimed, clapping his hands. "You've got such precise control now."
Eri beamed, her confidence bolstered by Izuku's praise. "And that's not all, Big Brother Izuku. Watch this!"
She turned her attention to a stack of old, worn-out books. With another deep breath, she focused on rewinding them. The pages, which had been yellowed and fragile, gradually turned crisp and white, the text becoming clear and legible once more.
Izuku's eyes widened in amazement. "You can rewind multiple objects at the same time now? That's incredible, Eri!"
Eri nodded, a proud smile on her face. "Yes! And I can use my quirk for longer periods without getting tired."
To demonstrate, she picked up a broken toy car. With a determined look, she rewound it until it looked brand new, the wheels spinning smoothly as if it had just come out of the box.
"I've been practicing a lot with Mother Kaina," Eri explained. "She's helped me get stronger, so I don't get tired as quickly when I use my quirk."
Izuku's heart swelled with pride and gratitude. "I'm so proud of you, Eri. You've worked so hard, and it shows."
Kaina, who had been watching quietly, smiled warmly. "Eri has truly come a long way. She's determined and incredibly brave. It's been an honor to help her."
Eri's confidence continued to grow the more she succeeded, and she began to explore even more possibilities with her quirk. She practiced rewinding different types of objects, testing her limits and discovering new ways to use her powers.
One afternoon, during a training session with Kaina, Eri decided to try something more challenging. She chose a withered tree branch and focused her energy on it. Slowly, the branch began to revert to its former healthy state, leaves sprouting and turning green.
Kaina watched with a mixture of pride and astonishment. "Eri, that's incredible. You're getting so strong."
Eri smiled, though she felt the strain of the extended use of her quirk. "Thank you, Mother Kaina. I just want to keep getting better."
Eri's control over her quirk was not only a testament to her hard work but also to the unwavering support she received from Kaina and Izuku. Their encouragement and love had given her the strength to overcome her fears and embrace her abilities.
As Eri continued to train, she also began to understand the importance of using her powers responsibly. Izuku and Kaina taught her to respect the natural order of things and to always consider the consequences of her actions.
