Chapter 198: Chapter 196:- Eri's Training
Izuku approached Eri, who was playing with her toys in the living room. Her big, innocent eyes looked up at him as he knelt beside her, a gentle smile on his face.
"Eri," he began softly, "How about you do some training on your quirk today?"
Eri's expression changed to one of fear and reluctance. "Training?" she repeated, her voice trembling. "I don't want to hurt anyone. My quirk... it's too dangerous."
Izuku put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I know you're scared, Eri. But you shouldn't fear your power. You need to learn how to control it. Imagine if Kaina or Fuyumi got hurt. You could heal them quickly if you knew how to use your quirk properly."
Eri's eyes filled with worry, but she nodded slowly. "O-okay. I'll try."
Izuku led her to a safe, enclosed location designed for her training. The room was filled with various small objects, including broken toys and trinkets. The walls were reinforced, and the environment was carefully controlled to ensure Eri's safety. He gently placed a special chip on her arm, designed to release controlled amounts of her power.
"Remember," Izuku said, his voice calm and soothing, "This chip will help you control your power so it doesn't go haywire. I'm right here with you. Nothing bad will happen. Now try rewinding these broken toys to their normal state."
Eri nodded, feeling a sense of security from Izuku's presence. She took a deep breath and focused on a broken toy in front of her. It was a small, wooden horse with a missing leg and chipped paint.
She tried to activate her quirk, but nothing happened. She tried again and again, but each attempt failed. Frustration began to build up in her small frame.
"I'm no good at this!" she cried, ready to throw a tantrum.
Izuku remained patient, his voice steady and encouraging. "It's okay, Eri. You're doing great. Just keep trying. If you succeed, I'll take you out for your favorite food. How does that sound?"
Eri's eyes lit up at the promise of a treat. "Really? My favorite food?"
Izuku nodded with a warm smile. "Really. Now, let's try again."
Eri concentrated hard, her face scrunching up with determination. She focused on the broken toy and, with great effort, her quirk finally activated. The toy began to mend itself, the wooden leg reappearing and the paint smoothing over the cracks. Slowly, the toy horse returned to its original form, standing proudly as if it had never been broken.
Izuku watched with pride as the toy was restored. "You did it, Eri! I'm so proud of you."
Eri beamed with happiness, her exhaustion evident but her spirit lifted by Izuku's praise. "I did it!" she exclaimed, a sense of accomplishment washing over her. She looked at the toy horse, now whole and perfect, and felt a surge of joy. "I really did it!"
Izuku picked up the toy horse and handed it to her. "You did. And you should be proud of yourself."
Eri took the toy, hugging it tightly. "Thank you, Big brother Izuku."
Izuku smiled and ruffled her hair. "You have the power, Eri. I'm just here to help you learn how to use it."
Encouraged by her success, Eri wanted to try more. She looked around the room and spotted a broken clock on a shelf. "Can I try that one?" she asked, pointing to the clock.
Izuku nodded. "Of course. Go ahead."
Eri approached the clock, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and excitement. She reached out and touched it, focusing her mind on the broken gears and shattered glass.
Her quirk activated, and slowly, the clock began to rewind. The gears clicked back into place, the glass repaired itself, and soon, the clock was ticking away as if it had never been broken.
Izuku clapped his hands. "That was amazing, Eri! You're really getting the hang of this."
Eri's face lit up with a bright smile. "I'm really doing it! I'm learning to control my quirk!"
Izuku's heart swelled with pride. "Yes, you are. And you're doing a fantastic job."
They continued training, with Eri practicing on various broken objects. Each success filled her with more confidence, and she began to feel less afraid of her power.
She rewound a broken vase, a shattered picture frame, and even a torn book. With each accomplishment, her fear diminished, replaced by a growing sense of control and mastery over her quirk.
However, not every attempt was successful. There were moments when Eri's quirk didn't activate, or when it only partially rewound an object.
Each failure brought a flicker of frustration to her eyes, but Izuku was always there to encourage her.
"It's okay, Eri," he would say. "You're learning. It's natural to have some setbacks. Just keep trying."
Eri nodded, taking his words to heart. She knew that learning to control her quirk was important, not just for her own sake, but for the safety of those she cared about.
She wanted to be able to help Kaina and Fuyumi if they ever got hurt, just like Izuku had said.
One day, during their training session, Eri focused on a particularly delicate task: rewinding a broken music box. The intricate gears and tiny parts made it a challenging target, and Eri struggled with it at first. Her quirk flickered and sputtered, unable to fully restore the music box.
Eri's frustration grew, and she felt tears welling up in her eyes. "I can't do it!" she cried, ready to give up.
Izuku knelt beside her, his voice gentle and reassuring. "You can do it, Eri. I believe in you. Just take a deep breath and try again."
Eri looked into Izuku's eyes, finding comfort and strength in his unwavering support. She took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and focused on the music box once more. Slowly, carefully, her quirk activated. The gears clicked into place, the tiny parts reassembled, and the music box began to play a soft, beautiful melody.
Izuku's face broke into a wide smile. "You did it, Eri! That was incredible!"
Eri's face lit up with joy. "I did it! I really did it!"
Izuku hugged her tightly. "I'm so proud of you, Eri. You're amazing."
Eri felt a warmth in her heart, a sense of accomplishment and pride that she had never known before. She had learned to control her quirk, and she knew that she could continue to improve with Izuku's help.
As the week passed, Eri's control over her quirk grew stronger. She became more confident, and her fear of her own power diminished.
She practiced diligently, always with Izuku by her side, guiding and encouraging her.
Izuku decided to take things slow with her training, knowing she needed time to build her stamina and confidence and she is still too small for her to do physical training that builds her stamina.
And as a safety measure to protect Eri, he added a protocol to the chip that's inside her head.
If the chip sensed intense emotions of fear or fright and none of the girls—Maki, Momo, Kaina, or Fuyumi—were nearby, Eri's quirk would activate automatically.
It would create a 10-meter defensive barrier around her, rewinding anything that touched the barrier out of existence. Immediately afterward, Eri would be teleported to the nearest of the girls or to Izuku. If none of them were closest, she would be teleported to a secret, safe location designated by Izuku.
One evening, after a particularly successful training session, Eri felt exhausted. She had rewound several objects, including a broken toy train and a cracked mirror. The effort had taken a lot out of her, and she was ready to rest.
Izuku noticed her fatigue and gently picked her up. "You did great today, Eri. I'm really proud of you. But it's time for you to rest now."
Eri nodded sleepily, her eyelids heavy. "Okay, Big Brother Izuku. Thank you for helping me."
Izuku carried her to her room and tucked her into bed. "I'll always be here for you, Eri. You don't have to be afraid anymore."
Eri smiled up at him, her eyes closing as she drifted off to sleep. "I know. Thank you, Big brother Izuku."
As Izuku watched her sleep, he felt a deep sense of responsibility and affection for the little girl. He would ensure she grew up feeling safe and loved, and that she would learn to harness her quirk for good.
With Eri sleeping soundly in her bed, Izuku whispered, "You're going to be amazing, Eri. We'll do this together."
Izuku left her room, his mind filled with plans for her future training. He knew that Eri had incredible potential, and he was determined to help her reach it.
As he walked back to his room, Izuku thought about the safety measures he had put in place for Eri. He knew that her quirk was powerful and could be dangerous if not controlled. The protocol he had added to the chip would ensure her safety, even if he or the others were not around.
He felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing that he was doing everything he could to protect and guide Eri.
In the weeks that followed, Eri continued to train and improve her control over her quirk. She became more confident and less fearful, and her bond with Izuku grew even stronger.
She knew that she could rely on him, and that he would always be there to support and encourage her.
One day, as they were training, Eri managed to rewind a complex, delicate piece of machinery that had been brought in specifically for her to practice on. It was a test of her precision and control, and she passed with flying colors.
Izuku watched with pride as Eri completed the task, her quirk now a tool she could wield with confidence and skill. "You did it, Eri! That was perfect!"
Eri beamed with happiness, her heart swelling with pride. "I did it! I really did it!"
Izuku hugged her tightly. "I'm so proud of you, Eri. You've come so far."
Eri felt a sense of accomplishment that she had never known before. She had learned to control her quirk, and she knew that she could continue to improve with Izuku's help.
She looked up at him, her eyes filled with gratitude and love. "Thank you, Big brother Izuku. I couldn't have done it without you."
Izuku smiled, his heart full of pride and affection for the little girl. "You have the power, Eri. I'm just here to help you learn how to use it."
As they continued to train and grow together, Eri knew that she was no longer afraid of her quirk. With Izuku by her side, she felt confident and strong, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
And she knew that no matter what happened, she would always be protected and be able to protect people she cares for.
