Chapter 220 : Council of Kangs and the Mysterious Alex
The Edge of Hell, at the Brink of the Multiverse — The Council of Kang.
The council chamber was a colossal arena steeped in an ancient and arcane atmosphere. Towering in the center stood three monumental statues—majestic, awe-inspiring, each representing a powerful Kang variant. These weren't mere symbols. They were conduits of immense power, radiating authority through time and space.
The three Kangs represented here were the undisputed leaders of the Council.
At that moment, three figures slowly entered the arena. Their strides were calm, but each footstep carried the weight of history, power, and boundless wisdom.
They had gathered for a meeting of paramount importance.
To the right walked Rama-Tut, draped in regal Egyptian robes, exuding an aura of mysticism and solemnity.
Long ago, Rama-Tut had used his time machine to travel back to ancient Egypt. Armed with advanced future technology, he conquered the past and reigned as a revered pharaoh.
On the left strode the Scarlet Centurion, clad in cutting-edge, futuristic armor that shimmered with a chilling metallic glow.
After being ousted from Egypt by heroes like the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, Rama-Tut escaped using his intellect and tech. A time storm altered his machine's course, hurling him into a more modern era. There, he crossed paths with Doctor Doom, who inspired and aided him in constructing his high-tech armor—thus was born the Scarlet Centurion.
And at the center—flanked by the other two—was Kang the Immortal, the oldest and most formidable of all Kang variants.
His eyes shimmered with deep, ancient wisdom—capable, it seemed, of piercing through the mists of time itself. He had studied under the Time-Keepers, mastered the fabric of the cosmos, and deleted countless timelines unfavorable to his reign. His supremacy over time was absolute.
The three Kang variants approached the central table and took their seats.
Rama-Tut exhaled slowly, furrowed brow hinting at urgency. He was the first to speak.
"I've just received an urgent report from Spider-Man Kang. Apparently, the little spiders are growing restless again.
Should we take the initiative and wipe them out before they become a problem?
They're persistent, and if they disrupt our plans again, it will be… inconvenient."
The Scarlet Centurion scoffed.
"Tch. They're just spiders. We've crushed them before, and we can do it again. Cowards, all of them—slaves to fate, afraid to challenge the status quo.
They're insignificant."
His tone shifted, piqued by something else.
"But there's someone among them who's… different. A man who broke free from his fate. Goes by the name Alex Ray.
That one might actually be worth our attention."
A twisted grin tugged at the corner of his lips.
"I admire those who fight destiny. I'll give Alex Ray a gift when we meet—death with dignity."
Rama-Tut remained silent, brows drawn tight as if sifting through old memories.
Then he murmured:
"That name… it feels familiar. Don't you think there's always something about these Easterners with the name Ray or Alex?
Like they're destined to challenge the rules of fate. It reminds me of someone…"
Kang the Immortal's gaze darkened.
He considered the thought carefully before answering, his voice slow and deliberate.
"You're overthinking it. We dealt with that anomaly long ago—with the help of the Council of Reeds. We saw him die.
And I've checked countless timelines—he no longer exists."
The Scarlet Centurion raised an eyebrow, clearly the least informed of the trio.
"Who are you talking about?"
Kang the Immortal leaned back, memories flickering in his eyes like echoes from the past.
"We don't know his real name. Everyone just called him… Alex.
He was another fate-breaker. An Eastern man, just like Alex Ray.
He nearly destroyed us."
The Scarlet Centurion laughed, unconvinced.
"So, what? Some guy scared you all so badly that you can't even speak his name? You're immortals. There's no one stronger than us."
But neither Kang the Immortal nor Rama-Tut replied. They exchanged a brief, unreadable look.
Their silence unsettled the Centurion. For the first time, a chill crept under his armor.
"Are you serious? Was he really that strong?"
Kang the Immortal finally broke the silence.
"Yes. We fought him. And it almost cost us everything.
But in the end, we won. We killed him."
The Centurion looked mildly impressed.
"So, you did beat him."
"We did. But it came at a steep cost," Kang the Immortal admitted.
"We're much stronger now than we were then. There's no need to fear Alex Ray—or whoever he might be."
"Even if he is the same as that Chen from before, he's not a threat. Our real concern now is the Spider People—those infernal multiverse defenders. They're more agitated than ever. We should prioritize conquering other timelines before they can unite against us."
He glanced at the looming portal, sensing the presence of the other Kangs approaching.
"The rest are arriving. Go—rally them."
Rama-Tut and the Scarlet Centurion nodded and departed, leaving Kang the Immortal alone in the arena.
He gazed into the void between worlds, muttering to himself.
"Is it you? The one who once stopped me…
Are you trying to stop me again?"
He remembered that battle clearly—how one man, an Easterner wielding impossible power, nearly wiped out the Avengers. Only by calling on the Council of Reeds and Avengers from across the multiverse had they stood a chance.
In that war, entire timelines collapsed. Whole universes were extinguished.
It took Kang the Immortal and his allies centuries to repair the damage.
Their conquest had been delayed—but not abandoned.
"If it really is you..." his voice dropped to a hiss, "then I'll make sure to settle this debt, Alex Ray."
