Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 217 : The Complete Defeat of the Spider-Society

Alex Ray's hands moved to the transformation joystick on his waist once again.

"Ready, go!"

Red energy erupted from him, radiating an ominous glow.

"No way… again?" The Marvelous Paper Bag Spider-Man watched Alex Ray twist the joystick, and a wave of fear surged through him. He vividly recalled the devastation Alex had caused with his ultimate move last time—the memory made him tremble involuntarily.

That previous strike had knocked almost all the Spider-People out cold, leaving only the strongest variants still standing. The Marvelous Paper Bag Spider-Man had only survived due to sheer durability. But this time… he wasn't confident he could take the hit again.

"I don't believe you can take us all out with one blow!" Iron Spider's voice trembled slightly, but he summoned his oversized mech anyway, positioning it in front of the team in an effort to shield them from Alex's incoming attack.

However, even he began to doubt. Compared to the overwhelming power of Alex Ray, his mechanized armor suddenly felt pathetically fragile.

"Think! We need a solution!" Scarlet Spider turned urgently to Spider-Man 2099. He understood that without a plan, they were facing annihilation.

Miguel O'Hara—Spider-Man 2099—was drenched in sweat, his brow furrowed as he struggled to formulate a countermeasure. But as Alex's crackling energy charged to its peak, he could find no viable way to resist it.

At that moment, the Ultimate Spider-Man, currently inhabited by Doctor Octopus's consciousness, spoke up.

"We'll all fire webbing simultaneously. Create a cocoon. It's the only chance we've got to survive this."

Without waiting for confirmation, he sprang into action.

Seeing this, the rest of the Spider-People joined in. Dozens of webs shot through the air as they worked in unison, forming a massive defensive cocoon of reinforced spider silk.

"Will this really hold?" Aunt Four Hundred stared at the growing cocoon with suspicion, unable to shake off the image of Alex's overwhelming power.

But despite his doubts, his hands kept working, spinning web after web.

"Got a better idea?" rasped Ghost Spider-Man.

Aunt Four Hundred fell silent. He didn't.

Together, the Spider-Society poured out every reserve of spider silk they had, constructing a cocoon the likes of which the multiverse had never seen.

It looked like a fortress—thick, fibrous walls layered with years of accumulated silk. If anything could protect them, this was it.

Iron Spider stood aside, arms crossed. His gaze flicked to his steel mech, then back to the cocoon. He made a snap decision and disassembled parts of his armor to reinforce the cocoon with metal.

After some intense engineering, the cocoon gleamed with spider silk and steel—a seemingly indestructible shield.

The Spider-People stood back, panting but hopeful.

"I don't think he can get through this now," Aunt Four Hundred said proudly, a grin spreading across his face.

But Alex Ray—still standing calmly on the battlefield—was unimpressed.

He gazed at the cocoon, then smirked coldly.

He hadn't stopped them because he didn't see the point. That so-called "spider shell" wasn't going to stop him.

"No one understands how to counter Spider-Man better than me," Alex said coldly.

"KILLBUS SPIDER FINISH!"

He leapt into the air. Four massive, glowing red spider spears burst from his back and began spinning rapidly, condensing into a deadly crimson drill of hardened energy.

His right foot merged with the spinning drill, building momentum until he became a spiraling missile of raw chaos magic.

He aimed squarely at the cocoon and unleashed the attack.

Inside the cocoon, the Spider-People sensed the impending blow. Anxiety filled the air.

"It's just more theatrics," Aunt Four Hundred muttered. "It's not going to—"

Cracks appeared. His voice died.

Panic set in.

More spider silk sprayed toward the fractures, desperate attempts to patch the cocoon.

But Alex's strike was unstoppable.

The cocoon burst open in a shattering explosion of silk, steel, and impact waves. The Spider-People were hurled like rag dolls.

The entire Spider-Society base quaked under the blow. Walls buckled, floors gave way, and then the whole structure collapsed.

A thunderous roar filled the multiversal HQ—then silence. Smoke blanketed the ruins.

. . . . . . . . . .

Meanwhile, across the multiverse, Miles Morales returned to his own universe, accompanied by Gwen Stacy, Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker, and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. Together, they defeated The Spot.

Had The Spot not existed, Miles believed his father would never have died.

Now, Miles chose to stay with his father for a few more days—just in case.

Though he didn't speak to Alex Ray directly, the trio expressed their gratitude on his behalf.

If not for Alex, Miles wouldn't have made it out alive.

System Notification:

"Congratulations, host. Miles' friendship level has increased to two stars."

"Congratulations, host. You've obtained the Electric Shock skill."

"Friendship level increased to three stars."

"Friendship level maxed. Miles is now a full-star family member."

"Host currently has 22/25 family members."

Alex Ray wasn't aware of any of this yet. He had no idea Miles had just become one of his strongest allies.

Back at the base, Gwen, Garfield, and Tobey stepped through a portal to return to the Spider-Society HQ.

Worried, Gwen looked to Tobey's Peter.

"Are we sure it's okay for Mr. Ray to do this? What if Miguel retaliates?"

Though grateful for Alex's help, Gwen feared the fallout from Spider-Man 2099.

Tobey's Peter responded with confidence: "Relax. Alex can handle it."

But Gwen remained anxious.

Garfield's Peter, seeing her concern, offered: "Then let's go help him. Another pair of hands can make a difference."

They all increased their pace, riding the elevator down to the Society's command center.

When the doors opened—they froze.

The once-thriving base was gone.

Only rubble remained.

The once-bustling halls of the Spider-Society were reduced to ash and debris. Smoke curled up from the wreckage. Silence loomed.

The three Spider-People stared in shock.

Garfield's Peter slowly raised a hand and pointed at the ruins.

"Did we… portal to the wrong place?"

Tobey blinked.

"Did someone rob the house while we were out…?"
