Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 205 : Manhattan Mayor Kingpin and Principal Eric

In the blink of an eye, he passed through the portal and returned to the familiar, warm atmosphere of the Fortune Restaurant.

Outside the entrance, there was no one except John Wick, the apartment's security guard.

Alex Ray glanced around, but even his loyal canine companion, Deadpool the Dog, was nowhere to be seen.

That was unexpected—Deadpool the Dog almost never left the restaurant.

"Boss, you're back," John Wick greeted lazily, his eyes sweeping over Alex with his usual mix of indifference and calm observation.

Alex stopped, frowning slightly. "Where's Deadpool? Where'd he go?"

John took a sip from his wolfberry tea and answered slowly, "Oh, him? He went on a date. With Aunt May's new dog. Cute little thing named Ms. Lion."

Alex was stunned at first, then couldn't help but chuckle.

Even a dog had a love life. Every version of Deadpool was incorrigible.

Shaking his head in amusement, he pushed open the door and stepped into the Good Fortune Restaurant.

The moment he walked in, he noticed things were quieter than expected.

Besides Tobey's version of Peter Parker, a gloomy-looking Harry Osborn, and Aunt May, the place was empty.

Alex asked Aunt May about everyone's recent whereabouts.

Pietro was currently assisting the X-Men in relocating mutants to Hell's Kitchen.

Deadpool (the human one) had apparently gone on a mission with Wolverine, side by side as if they were lifelong buddies.

The Vongola family was currently entangled with the newly emerged Viper Gang operating in Manhattan.

This Viper Gang was notorious for its cunning and ruthlessness. Most of its key members possessed superhuman abilities. The Vongola family was going all out to ensure Hell's Kitchen remained safe and protected.

Wanda had held her ground, teaming up with Jessica Jones to handle the assets left behind by Kingpin. With the legal backing of Daredevil's firm, they had begun reorganizing and rebuilding Hell's Kitchen Inc.

Interestingly, the current leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants was now Polaris—Wanda's sister. Her leadership was both decisive and unconventional, earning her deep respect from the mutant community.

Still, not every mutant chose to remain in Hell's Kitchen. Mystique, Sabretooth, and Pyro had left to form their own organization, aptly named Freedom Force.

The mutants who stayed included Domino, Nightcrawler, Juggernaut, and Blink. Some stayed due to Magneto's influence, others simply because they were tired of being nomads.

They believed in Magneto. And more importantly, they believed in Alex Ray—believed his power could finally give them a stable life.

Then Aunt May shared something even more shocking.

Magneto had become the president of Hell's Kitchen Community College.

Apparently, he still held a grudge over his old friend, Professor X, founding a mutant school and insisted he could do even better.

So he volunteered for the role and declared that under his guidance, every graduate—mutant or not—would become an elite powerhouse.

As for the former principal, Wilson Fisk—Alex's godfather—he had gone into politics.

Ever since the last war in Hell's Kitchen, Kingpin had realized the immense power politics held.

He knew that without political representation, the people of Hell's Kitchen would always be overlooked.

So, to better support Alex, he had entered the race for city council.

Thanks to Alex's previous intervention with the nuclear warhead, the citizens of Manhattan had immense respect for him.

And since everyone knew Kingpin was Alex's godfather, they supported Fisk in the election—both out of gratitude and intimidation.

With a blend of federal manipulation and strategic bribery, Kingpin secured a position on the city council and was now eyeing the mayor's seat in the next year and a half.

Hell's Kitchen itself was undergoing renovations, funded jointly by Tony Stark, federal reparations, and contributions from the High Table.

A brand-new hospital was being built, designed to serve the community's rapidly evolving needs.

Tony Stark hadn't made a public appearance since making his donation.

Aunt May heard that the community college had brought in several new professors—top-tier minds from various fields: Dr. Bruce Banner, holding seven PhDs; Dr. Hank McCoy, who looked like a beast; Dr. Curt Connors, chemistry expert and part-time Lizard; and even a stone-faced kindergarten teacher who looked suspiciously like the Thing.

Hell's Kitchen Community College was now arguably one of the best institutions around.

Alex took a moment to process all the news. He never expected Uncle Fisk to go into politics. He couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like if Kingpin actually became mayor.

As for Tony—Alex knew what he was really up to. The donation had been nothing more than a transaction.

Tony was clearly studying the Knight Belt and Energy Bottle—tech from another world that Alex had handed over. That was the real reason behind his generosity.

Then there was the Viper Gang.

The name rang a bell. Alex remembered them being a Hydra-affiliated group. Their presence was a clear attempt to suppress Hell's Kitchen's rise and erase it from the map.

After all, Alex had banned drug trafficking and human slavery within Hell's Kitchen. But the federal government still needed places for that dirty work to continue.

By creating the Viper Gang, they had a superpowered gang that could actually threaten Hell's Kitchen's dominance.

Regular thugs wouldn't cut it. Only enhanced operatives could challenge a neighborhood protected by mutants and Avengers-level powerhouses.

But what delighted Alex the most was the growth of the community college.

He wasn't exaggerating when he thought: even if Thanos showed up, he might get skinned alive.

Not only was Alex—Master Ray—teaching there, but high-powered mutants were steadily joining the faculty. Some might even be Omega-level.

If Spider-Man from another universe wandered onto campus, he might never return.

Just look at the current roster of professors.

Doctor Octopus. The Lizard. Sandman. Vulture. The Punisher.

And if Alex summoned Osborn, the Sinister Six could be born right there on campus.

Plus, Alex had noticed something odd: people who liked to transform really enjoyed being part of the school.

Sandman. Dr. Lizard. Hulk. The Thing. Beast.

Were they planning to offer a transformation studies course?

Or a class on how to become a heavy-hitter?

Alex couldn't help but laugh at the thought.

But there was no time to rest yet. He still had a mission.

He had to find Spider-Man 2099 and claim his reward
