POV: Raven
I followed the trail of golden light, and after some time of walking, I heard the sound of gunshots. Immediately, I took to the air, flying toward the source. The shots led me to an alleyway—the same one where the golden light had originated.
There, I saw a man about my age.
His golden hair flowed down to his shoulders, and he stood tall—6'5"—but his back was turned to me, hiding his face.
Yet, it wasn't his appearance that caught my attention—it was his aura.
A golden radiance, brilliant like a star, wrapped around him, calming the chaos inside me. My demonic power, usually so volatile, was suddenly easier to control. The constant, tormenting voice of my father… was gone.
Shifting my gaze downward, I noticed two men lying at his feet—beaten and bruised. Nearby, their guns lay crushed into mere scraps of metal.
I could feel their emotions.
They were terrified.
I looked back at him, confused. Why had he beaten these two? He didn't feel like a bad person, at least not from what I could sense—his emotions were calm, unwavering. And that golden light pouring from his body… it radiated something pure.
But my confusion quickly faded as I pieced it together.
These two were criminals.
At the far end of the alley, a middle-aged man sat slumped against the wall, bruised and battered.
The golden-haired man began walking toward him.
"Here, sir. Your wallet," he said, handing it back.
The middle-aged man's eyes widened in gratitude. "Thank you, sir! Thank you!"
The golden man smiled slightly. "Don't worry about it. Just—next time, don't take shortcuts. It never ends well in the movies."
The man let out a nervous chuckle. "Hahaha… yeah, I'll be more careful next time. If you don't need anything else, I'll be on my way. Goodbye, sir."
The golden man nodded. "Yeah. Goodbye."
Then, he turned toward me.
And God, he was handsome.
A small smile graced his lips. His piercing blue eyes met mine, his face sculpted to perfection.
We locked eyes.
For what felt like hours.
But in reality, it was only a few seconds.

POV: Robert
As I made my way toward the hotel I'd looked up on Google, my enhanced hearing picked up a conversation. I focused, quickly piecing together what was happening.
A robbery.
I changed course toward the alleyway where it was unfolding.
A part of me questioned—why am I even doing this?
The answer was simple.
Because I can.
Because I'm powerful now.
Because I'm not afraid of anyone anymore.
And because, honestly? I wanted to test my powers.
I approached the alleyway, activating my X-ray vision to see through the wall.
Two men were robbing a middle-aged man.
I walked forward, reaching the alley's entrance.
Mugger 1: "I don't care if you have money or not—give me everything you got! Your phone, your clothes—"
He waved a gun in the terrified man's face.
"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. Your choice."
Mugger 2: "Hurry up! I'm running out of patience." His voice was laced with anger.
The middle-aged man, trembling, fumbled to pull out his wallet. "O-okay, okay! Here!"
Mugger 1: "Hmph. Not bad… but this isn't enough. Hand over your phone. And your shoes."
The man hesitated but bent down to remove them.
That's when I spoke.
Robert: "There's no need for that, sir."
All three turned to face me.
A young man stood at the alley's entrance, observing everything.
Mugger 2: "Huh? Who the fuck are you, you little shit?"
Mugger 1: "Get the fuck out of here, kid. Unless you wanna play hero and take a bullet to the head."
He aimed his gun at me.
I ignored him and kept walking forward.
Mugger 1: "I said get the fuck out of here!" He barked, pressing the gun's barrel toward me.
I kept walking.
Mugger 2: "Alright, fuck this!"
Losing patience, he pulled the trigger.

POV: First Person (Robert)
I watched the bullets approach me—moving so slowly, it was almost laughable.
I stood still, waiting for impact…
But I didn't want to ruin my clothes.
So, at the last moment, I raised my hand and caught the bullets.
The moment they hit my palm, they crumpled like paper.
I closed my fist around them.
Mugger 2: "H-huh? What just happened…?" His face twisted in confusion. Then, realization struck.
"Oh… no. No, no, no, no—FUCK NO!"
"He's one of those damn freaks!"
Panicked, he pulled the trigger again. His friend followed suit.
Gunshots echoed through the alley.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
Then—click.
Out of bullets.
Mugger 1: "…We're fucked." His voice was hollow.
Mugger 2: "…Yes. Yes, we are."
Before they could run, I blurred forward, appearing right in front of them.
With barely any effort, I yanked their guns from their hands, crushing them into scrap metal before their very eyes.
They stared in horror.
Mugger 1 & 2: "Oh, hell no—RUN!"
They turned to flee.
Too late.
I grabbed both by the shoulders.
Slowly, I traced my fingers up from their shoulders to their heads, leaning in close.
"Do you have any idea how fucked you guys are?"
My voice was gentle.
They nodded frantically.
"Good."
And with a swift motion, I knocked their heads together.
They crumpled like a sack of potatoes.
I exhaled.
"Hmmm… now, where's that wallet?"
Crouching down, I searched their pockets. Sure, I could have used X-ray vision… but where's the fun in that?
After pocketing their wallets and retrieving the middle-aged man's, I handed his back.
After a brief exchange of thanks, he hurried out of the alleyway.
I turned to leave as well—
And that's when I saw her.
Raven.
I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't look away.
We locked eyes.
For what felt like an eternity.
It wasn't just because she was stunning…
Or because she was my number one crush in DC…
But because of the power radiating off of her.
Dark.
But not evil.
I snapped out of it.
"Sorry, but… can I do something for you?"

POV: Raven
"Sorry, but… can I do something for you?"
His words snapped me out of my daze.
And I asked the most important question on my mind.
"Who are you?"
He smiled.
"My name?"
"Oh… my name is Robert Reynolds."
