Legendary FBI Detective

Chapter 566: Suspect, Arrest, Flour, Familiar Website

Southern Las Vegas, a small but exquisite villa, where a black SUV slowly pulled up to the curb.

This was the home of Priceley, a former police officer, now a private detective, who was killed in self-defense by Luo An using a stun gun.

As soon as the SUV parked, Reesi walked out of the villa holding a file bag.

Snap—

She opened the car door, sat in, handed the file bag to Luo An, and Winslow handed her some food he bought, asking with a hint of confusion:

"What's going on?"

Reesi grinned, took the food and started eating without responding. Luo An started opening the file bag and explained:

"Do you remember the thing we found out before about the relationship between model Paul and President Lucille?

It gave me an idea that perhaps there is another private detective investigating the affair between Chenier and Igilia.

One is a State Legislator and the other is a female journalist, and the stories within are worth tracking."

Winslow raised his eyebrows, suddenly realizing:

"Another private detective tracking the journalist Igilia might unwittingly snap some unplanned photos! Like a scene of Igilia being kidnapped!"

"Exactly."

Reesi swallowed the food in her mouth, smiling and nodding as she said:

"I just tried it out of a guess, didn't expect to actually find something!"

Winslow looked at Luo An admiringly and quickly turned his gaze to the file bag in Luo An's hands.

Opening the file bag, Luo An took out several photos.

In the photos, instead of a scene of journalist Igilia being kidnapped or murdered as Winslow imagined, it showed journalist Igilia leaving her office after work, driving home, followed by a suspicious taxi.

"Another taxi?"

Winslow commented, to which Luo An didn't respond but instead took out his phone to call Michelle, saying:

"Michelle, I have a taxi's license plate number, check the driver's identity for me."

"Leave it to me."

After receiving the numbers and letters of the plate, Michelle immediately began typing on her keyboard, and less than a minute later, she replied:

"I found the driver's identity. His name is Issoff-Jason, 45 years old, has a military background, and has been incarcerated multiple times for robbery and assault."

"Good."

Luo An nodded, satisfied, and placed the file bag aside, preparing to start the car, and asked:

"Where does he live?"

"He lives in Clark County in Southern Las Vegas! Also, Issoff-Jason has a roommate, named Matthew Gordon, who has also been in prison for assault!"

"Another familiar place."

Right foot on the accelerator to the floor, the SUV suddenly sped forward, Luo An smiled broadly, adding:

"Michelle, get Chenier to contact the SWAT team, let's move to arrest them!"

"Understood!"

————

Clark County, southeast of Las Vegas City, a satellite city, the majority of its residents work in Las Vegas, but cannot afford the high rents in the city.

Half an hour later, on the southwest side of Clark County, across from a community building, the SUV slowly pulled up to the curb.

Not long after, a black SWAT armored vehicle also slowly parked in the space in front of the SUV.

"Check equipment."

Inside the SUV, Luo An hung the communicator over his ear and instructing everyone to arrange their weapons, then asked:

"Michelle, what's the situation?"

"The taxi is parked in a nearby underground parking lot."

Michelle quickly replied:

"Issoff-Jason is off work today and staying at home. His roommate, Matthew Gordon's purchase records show that he bought some food at a nearby supermarket half an hour ago."

At that moment, Winslow suddenly focused, pointing to a middle-aged Caucasian man across the road carrying shopping bags, and said:

"There's Matthew Gordon."

"Good."

Seeing the man with the food going upstairs, Luo An narrowed his eyes, disconnected the communicator, and commanded:

"Begin the operation!"

"Understood!"

Upon the command, the rear door of the armored vehicle immediately opened, Chenier and a group of fully armed SWAT team members filed out, followed closely by Luo An, Winslow, and Reesi, who all rushed into the community building.

Sealing the elevator, they hurried up the stairs directly to the fourth floor where the target person's apartment was located, quickly arriving at the designated room.

Counting down from three, the leading SWAT officer picked up the battering ram and slammed it forcefully against the door.

Bang!

Boom——

With a loud crash, the door shattered inward, and two SWAT officers holding riot shields quickly rushed into the room, shouting simultaneously:

"FBI! Open the door!"

"Nobody move!"

"Keep your hands away from the weapons!"

"Get down! Get down!"

In the room, aside from Matthew Gordon who had just returned with food, there were two Caucasian youths playing video games in front of the TV.

As the SWAT officers stormed into the room, the three were hugely startled. The two Caucasian youths instinctively prepared to throw away the controllers and reach for their guns to retaliate, but seeing Matthew Gordon next to them being kicked to the ground by Luo An and having his handgun taken away, they immediately removed their hands from the guns and obediently lay down on the floor.

"Where is Issoff-Jason?"

Not finding their target in the room, Winslow and Reesi frowned slightly. Luo An noticed that there was another bedroom that hadn't been opened, so he gestured for everyone to head towards that room.

Boom——

Winslow kicked open the bedroom door and found a large bed inside, on which a man wearing shorts and a T-shirt was soundly asleep.

On the bedside cabinet, there lay a few small packages of transparently wrapped white powder, and on the floor beside the bed, there was an empty transparent bag that had contained powder.

Luo An walked up, grabbed the sleeping man's head—it was their target, Issoff-Jason.

"Take him away."

Not bothering with further words, Luo An gestured for the officers to take the four individuals away, and upon noticing a computer nearby, he immediately walked over to it.

Soon, the three were escorted out of the room, Issoff-Jason was carried away, and items like the powder and handguns were also taken. Reesi approached Luo An and asked:

"Did you find anything?"

Luo An pushed the computer towards Reesi, pointing to the screen and asked:

"Does this look familiar?"

Seeing the red and black website, as well as the red metallic card inserted in the computer, Reesi's expression hardened, and she said gravely:

"Is it that criminal website from the Underworld we encountered before?"

"That's right."

Closing the computer, Luo An's eyes narrowed:

"It's a rather interesting coincidence, isn't it?"

————

At three in the afternoon, at the Las Vegas FBI branch, in a temporarily borrowed interrogation room.

Luo An and Chenier sat on the left side of the interrogation table, while on the right, there was a middle-aged Caucasian with many white hairs and half-open eyes.

"Hello, Mr. Issoff."

Luo An opened the folder and placed the photo of female reporter Igilia in front of him, asking:

"Did you kidnap her?"

Still feeling the effects of the drug, Issoff-Jason was very lethargic. He slumped in the chair and responded with a continuous yawn:

"Uh-huh."

"Where is Igilia now?"

"I don't know."

"You don't know?"

Issoff-Jason, yawning, said softly:

"I handed her over to the employer after I kidnapped her, got paid, and I didn't ask about what came after, nor did I care to."

Chenier's eyes narrowed upon hearing this:

"Employer? What does that mean?"

"It means someone placed an order for me to kidnap this woman, rewarding twenty thousand dollars."

Issoff-Jason grinned and added:

"Kidnapping a woman, simple and easy, twenty thousand dollars is a pretty good price, isn't it?"

Not wanting to discuss these matters with Issoff-Jason, Luo An asked:

"Who is this employer? Do you know their identity?"

"No idea, don't recognize them, never met them in person."

Issoff-Jason, looking at the ceiling, said:

"But I saw that person's gold watch, do you know how much that watch costs?

One watch, four hundred thousand dollars! Damn, I should have kidnapped him that night..."

As Issoff-Jason continued to talk, he fell asleep again. Chenier looked displeased. Luo An stood up and left the interrogation room, and Michelle immediately came over:

"Luo An, we've found a clue."
