KONOHA :THE RISE OF KAITON

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The First Class

What!?!

It turned out that Kaiton was the one giving them the lecture.

A wave of disbelief spread through the classroom as everyone looked at Kaiton with obvious skepticism. They had already acknowledged his strength in combat, but medical knowledge was a whole other beast. They weren't sure if Kaiton had studied it enough to be qualified to teach them. How could they possibly trust his abilities in this field?

Tsunade also stared at Kaiton, her face filled with surprise. "Kaiton, have you actually finished all the information Grandpa gave you? Medical knowledge is extremely rigorous. What if you teach us something wrong?"

Tsunade knew Kaiton had started learning medical knowledge only two weeks ago. In such a short time, could he really have reached the level of teaching others?

Kaiton remained calm. Although he had spent most of his time training, his extraordinary memory allowed him to retain a huge amount of information. He had already completed half of the medical texts, and his understanding of medical ninjutsu was sound.

To ensure he was on the right track, Kaiton had even tested his knowledge with Hashirama and Tobirama. Both had agreed that his current level was sufficient to teach beginners.

After hearing Kaiton's plans, Senju Tobirama had supported the idea of experimenting with a class. If it went well, it could be expanded to the entire school. Now, Kaiton had been effectively appointed as a teacher by the Hokage, so there was no reason to feel anxious.

Kaiton cleared his throat and raised a hand for attention. "I understand that some of you may have doubts about me, but I've been personally evaluated by Hokage-sama and former Hokage-sama. My medical level is guaranteed. So please, trust me."

His words had an air of authority, and after a brief silence, the students began to settle down. They knew that if the Hokage had given his approval, there must be some truth to it. As Kaiton had said, they could always voice their concerns after hearing the lecture.

Kaiton relaxed internally as the room quieted. He had been worried that the students might resist, but it seemed like they were willing to give him a chance. The plan was unfolding just as he had hoped.

Kaiton's plan was simple: He wanted to shift the students' focus toward learning, keeping them from overtraining, and getting them to understand the importance of balancing their education with physical activity. By doing so, they could build a solid foundation without burning out.

For him, this was especially crucial because his resilience was not like that of an ordinary person. The current level of training had no adverse effect on him, as confirmed by Hashirama. But for the others, excessive training at a young age could prematurely deplete their potential.

As long as he could get them on board with this lesson, everything would fall into place.

Kaiton opened the textbooks he had spent the night organizing, quickly scanning them before looking up with a serious expression.

"In today's class, I won't dive straight into medical knowledge. First, I want to explain what learning medical ninjutsu can offer you and why medical knowledge is so important in daily life."

He glanced around the room, noticing the confusion in everyone's eyes. He then walked to the blackboard and began writing a series of numbers.

"Let's look at these statistics," Kaiton said, pointing to the board. "This is the number of ninjas lost each year in Sunagakure since its establishment. For 16 years, the number of deaths has remained around 2,000 annually."

He then wrote another set of figures. "This is the annual death toll from battles in Konoha. Ten years ago, it was similar to Sunagakure, but since then, our numbers have dropped to around 1,000."

The students were still silent, waiting for Kaiton to continue.

"What do you think caused this dramatic reduction? Why did Konoha's casualties drop so sharply ten years ago? Raise your hand if you know."

No one raised their hand.

Kaiton's tone became more passionate. "It was the construction of the Konoha Shinobi Hospital 10 years ago! It's thanks to the medical ninjas who treat our wounded on the battlefield that our survival rate has improved. Medical ninjas exist to save lives, and that's what I want to instill in you today."

He looked around, making eye contact with each student. "While I can't guarantee that all of you will become skilled medical ninjas, each of you can master basic medical knowledge. This knowledge could save your life one day, whether on a mission or during training."

The students' expressions changed as they absorbed Kaiton's words. They could now see the value in learning medical ninjutsu—not just for healing, but for survival.

Kaiton smiled and then shifted his tone to a more relaxed one. "Now, let me share a little about how medical knowledge applies to our everyday lives. Have any of you been to the barbecue restaurant run by my family? Did you notice anything different about the food recently?"

Akamichi Setsu raised his hand eagerly. "I went with Lu Ming and Yousi yesterday, and I thought the barbecue tasted even better! It had a special fragrance to it."

Kaiton smiled. "Setsu's right. The flavor of the barbecue has improved because I've been using some special medical techniques to enhance the ingredients. As part of my medical training, I learned about certain plants that, while they have no direct medicinal effect on humans, can make meat tender and flavorful."

He paused for a moment, allowing the students to digest this. "I mixed these plants into a special solution, which I gave to the animals for a week before slaughter. The meat they produce has a unique fruitwood-like aroma when grilled."

Kaiton's eyes sparkled with pride. "Thanks to this new method, the sales in the restaurant have increased fivefold in just one week."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a wallet, waving it in front of the class. "And as a reward for my contribution, my father increased my monthly allowance to 100,000 taels."

The room went silent for a moment before an eruption of astonished murmurs broke out. The students stared at the wallet, their eyes wide with shock.

They had known Kaiton's family owned a popular barbecue restaurant, but none of them had realized it was so profitable. Hearing that his monthly allowance had increased to such an astronomical amount made everyone envious.

Even Uchiha Retsu, from the wealthy Uchiha clan, couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. He only received about 10,000 taels per month, far less than Kaiton's windfall. But despite the envy, he was impressed by the creative use of medical knowledge, realizing that it wasn't just about healing; it could be a source of wealth as well.

Kaiton's success in combining medical knowledge with business had made everyone eager to learn more. It wasn't just about saving lives anymore—it was about making life better in unexpected ways.

The class's enthusiasm reached a new high. The students, who had previously been skeptical about the importance of medical ninjutsu, were now completely engaged. They saw not only its practical uses but its potential to improve their lives and their futures.

Kaiton's smile grew wider as he looked at the eager faces in front of him. It was clear that his plan was working. His students were not just learning—they were inspired.

And with that, the first lesson was a resounding success.
