Arriving in Antokiba Kurapika headed towards the hotel, in particular he headed towards Risotto's room. He walked slowly, but not because he was in no hurry, but because he had almost no energy left after the battle with the two Stand users.

'Yeah, it's not every night that you get to fight such opponents and gain such experience. But the most important thing is that I survived, and the rest doesn't matter, because thanks to these battles I was able to grow above myself. And the most important thing is that I found the Stand. That's awesome. It's still hard to realise. And also... After killing the last enemy, I had a strange feeling in my soul... Or to be a little more precise, a question to myself. However, I hope to discuss this and everything else with Risotto. I hope he is still awake.'

Soon he came to the inn. Once inside he went up to the first floor and headed for Risotto's room. But when he got to the door of his room he didn't knock, he just stood still. The reason for this was doubt. He doubted if he should bother him right now.

'What if he's asleep? It's not good to wake a person up like this.'

After standing still a little longer, he made up his mind and knocked on the door twice.

- Come in. - A voice came from behind the door.

Kurapika carefully opened the door and peeked his head inside.

There was a light on in the room. Risotto was sitting on his double bed, holding some book that he had already distracted himself from reading.

- Am I disturbing you? - Kurapika asked politely.

- No, it's fine. Come in.

When he entered the room Risotto was a little surprised at his appearance, particularly his blood-spattered cloak.

- Jesus, what happened to you? - He asked in surprise, looking at the cloak and the torn clothes.

- I can't tell you everything at once.

- In that case, take off those bloodstained clothes and sit down with me. I'm interested in hearing your story.

Kurapika took off his cloak and hung it on the rack, leaving only his white tracksuit, which was torn in many places. Full of fatigue, he walked sluggishly over to Risotto and sat down next to him on the bed. And now that he was closer Kurapika could get a better look at what kind of book Risotto was reading. It was something about philosophy, religion and God.

- Interesting book? - Asked Kurapika looking into the book and seeing what it said. It said something about heaven on one page and fate on the other.

- Quite something. Makes you think about a lot of things. What about you? You look very tired.

- You're not exactly chipper either. - He noticed that Risotto was tired and sleepy too.

- Good point. I just can't sleep. I'm not sure, but maybe it's because you decided to take a night out with Gon Y Killua. It's quite dangerous. I believe in your skill, wit and strength, but as a leader I'm worried, and for good reason. Come on, tell me what happened.

- I don't know where to start... Well, we were walking with Gon and Killua in the canyon and after a while it started to rain. We rushed into town but were quickly overtaken by a Stand user. He had a Stand in the form of a mask and it allowed him to control the raindrops. We started fighting him and thanks to Killua's abilities and a few other things, we won.

- What about the boys? Are they all right?

- They're all right. They proved to be well trained and learnt a great deal.

- Was there more to it?

- The most interesting thing happened next. Gon and Killua used the map and moved away, and I decided to stick around for a while and examine the corpse, and while I was examining it another Stand user came in. I started to fight him, and I don't really feel like describing the details of the fight yet, but it happened... - Kurapika interrupted his speech. He was working up the courage to say the most important thing.

- What? What happened in the end? - It was obvious that Risotto was very interested in Kurapika's story and the further development of events.

- Well... I had a Stand awakening.

- What?! - Risotto was shocked by this statement, so much so that he dropped the book and almost fell off the bed, - Are you serious? This is not a joke?

- I'm completely serious,' Kurapika called his Stand right in front of him and Risotto, 'I named it [Speed King].

Risotto's eyes were wide and his mouth was open in surprise, which pleased Kurapika a bit, because it's not often you get that kind of emotion from him.

- What can he do? - Risotto asked, looking at the Stand with interest.

- From what I've learnt, it can raise the temperature. It can raise the temperature of the object it touches. He can also store heat in objects, and if someone touches the object, the heat will be transferred to him. With his blows he can leave burns on the opponent, and can not act on the skin, and immediately increase the temperature under it, for example, to increase the temperature of blood in the veins. And as I understand it, it has a radius of about three metres. I'd show you an example of how it works, but I'm afraid I might mess something up.

- There's no need, I trust you.

- Maybe it can do something else. I just got it a while ago and I haven't really got the hang of it yet. Even those powers were enough to win, though.

- You really surprised me.

- But now I'm more worried about when I got it.

- Hmm... I have one hypothesis, and it's the most logical one... Anyway, I think it's because of that anomaly.

- That anomaly?

- Yeah, you told me you fell into it. After that, when you came to us, you felt sick and passed out, and when I touched your forehead, it was hot. That's the kind of symptom that happens to people who've awakened the Stand.

- So what you're saying is.

- Exactly. You've had your Stand awakened, but you've only learnt to use it consciously now.

- Wow.

There was silence. Kurapika continued to sit silently on the bed with his palms crossed, glancing occasionally at Risotto, while the latter picked up his book and continued reading silently, occasionally glancing at Kurapika.

- I see you have something else to say. - Risotto remarked.

- Well, yes, I do.

- Then say it. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

- You know, I've been thinking recently about how I've changed. On the one hand, I kind of like that change. I've been able to become stronger, to grow above myself, to mature. But is that really such a good thing? I've also noticed that I've become more violent. Before, even in anger, I wouldn't have been as violent as I was with that crazy old man, and that guy I fought with recently, and in the fight with whom I discovered I had the Stand. And I blew his head off. The only people I could do that to before were Spiders, and that's a long shot. And now...' Kurapika felt a little sad, "I... I really don't know what to think about this..." he said.

There was silence for a few seconds. Risotto was a bit taken aback by Kurapika's words. He put his book aside and spoke:

- Hmm, quite interesting thoughts... Remind me, how old are you now?

- Seventeen, why?

- Seventeen years old... You're still a young man, you know. You're a little confused about yourself, but that's normal, it happens to everyone, especially at that age. But I'll help you sort it out. I've seen enough in this life to know what's what. And so... You're questioning whether this kind of change is really good, right? But I'll tell you that the word 'good' is rather relative, as well as the concepts of good and evil. Change can't be labelled unequivocally good or bad. You are shaped by your life and your environment, and the changes that occur in you are nothing but an adaptation to life and the influence of your environment. You hang out with me and the rest of the guys, and we've been through a lot in life that makes us who we are. You've been through a lot too, and now you're friends with us. We're alike, don't you agree? Do you understand now? The changes that have happened and are happening to you are not bad or good. They just are, and they are necessary,' Risotto placed his hand on Kurapike's head and smiled slightly, 'I'm not claiming to be true. I simply shared with you the truth of life that I know. I hope that makes you feel better.

Once again there was a brief silence. Now Kurapika was struck by Risotto's words. All his sadness instantly vanished, his mood lifted, and a smile appeared on his face.

- Thank you. I don't know what I would have done without your support. I was really a bit confused, but I feel better now,' Kurapika yawned heavily, his eye already struggling to stay open, 'Damn, I'm so sleepy...

He collapsed on the bed and yawned once more as he started to close his eye, but suddenly it struck him:

- Shit, what am I doing! I have my own number.

He tried to make a poor attempt to get out of bed, but Risotto stopped him:

- It's all right. I can see you're so tired you can't even stand on your feet. I'll let you sleep here tonight.

- You will?

- Really. You can go to sleep. You won't make me uncomfortable.

- All right.

The last thing Kurapika saw before he closed his eyes and passed out was Risotto smiling slightly and reading his book again.

***

In the morning, Risotto held a small meeting so that Kurapika could tell everyone else what had happened that night.

Everyone gathered in Melone and Gyaccio's room as it was the most spacious. Some sat down on the bed, some on chairs, some on the sofa. Kurapika told his story, and everyone else listened to him with interest. Soon he got to the point of a battle with a person who had a Stand named [Kraftwerk]. When he talked about the user's appearance and abilities everyone became a bit animated and started talking amongst themselves.

- Hey, that was Salé, the Passione soldier. - Formaggio quietly turned to Illuso, though Kurapika could still hear him.

- I guess so. - Illuso agreed.

- If he really had such abilities as Kurapika described, he's a complete idiot, - Prosciutto entered the conversation, - Such a powerful Stand could have been realised much better.

Kurapika's story continued. He finally got to the point where he told everyone that he had discovered the Stand.

- What?! - Everyone exclaimed at once.

- You've got to be kidding! - Melone didn't believe him.

In response to such scepticism, Kurapika and Risotto smiled wryly, and then Kurapika summoned his Stand.

- I named it [Speed King]. In short: it can raise the temperature of any object it touches, store and transfer heat. I haven't quite figured it out yet, but maybe it can do something else.

- Holy shit! - Melonet's delighted.

- If you use it right, it's pretty powerful,' Giaccio said, 'That's funny, by the way. My Stand can lower the temperature, and yours can raise it.

Kurapika decided to make a small demonstration of his newfound abilities. He stuck his finger into a glass of water on the table. After a couple of seconds the water started to steam, then bubbles of vapour started to form, and finally the water started to evaporate rapidly.

- Cool, now you're just like us! - Pesci cheered.

- Yeah, that's cool, but when, where and how did you get it? - Prosciutto asked Kurapiki.

- Maybe I got it from a sex poo... - Melone apparently wanted to make a dirty joke, but he was interrupted by a slap from Gyaccio, who was sitting next to him.

- You're at it again, you moron! - Gyaccio rebuked him.

- Come on, it's just a joke.

- The anomaly, - Risotto suddenly spoke, but the others didn't quite understand what he meant, - It was because of that anomaly. Kurapika said he accidentally fell into it when he first entered the game. And the same day he came to our hotel, he felt sick and fainted, and it turned out he had a fever. These are the signs of the Stand acquisition, and we all know it. But it wasn't until recently that he realised it.

- So that's it... Wait a minute...! - Melone suddenly realised something. It turns out that other players could have touched this anomaly too. Sure, probably a lot of people will die afterwards, but what if someone still gets the Stand?

There was a slight pause. Apparently, everyone had forgotten about that option.

- That's... Not good... - Said Prosciutto, who seemed to have realised everything.

- It seems so... - Said Risotto thoughtfully, who also realised everything, - However, we don't have time for this. We have an important mission here, and we can't be distracted by such things unless it's absolutely necessary.

- That's also true.

Once again there was a brief silence, which was soon interrupted by Risotto:

- Okay, well, I think we can split up now. We've got things to do, so no more sitting around.

***

That same day, towards evening, Kurapika and Melone were strolling through the streets of Soufrabi. They had a simple mission here, to buy provisions. And thankfully nothing happened, there were no new attacks by Stand users.

They were leisurely strolling through the local market and looking at what food they could buy, when suddenly Kurapika turned to Melone:

- Listen, Melone, I want to ask you something regarding Risotto.

- What is it?

- I know him enough, of course, but you know him a lot more. So you can tell me what you think of him. What kind of man is he?

- Wow, that's a lot of questions. - Melona clearly liked Kurapiki's question, -Of course I'll answer it. So... Where to start...? At first glance, he may seem like a rather cold and aloof person. And in some ways he is. When he interacts with people, he's aloof, cold and cautious. In battle, he is even more cold-blooded, methodical and shrewd. However, this is only in relation to enemies or strangers. He really reveals himself when he is with people close to him, such as us. We're practically family to him. Yes, of course, he still looks a little cold, but it's just a necessity. As a leader, he has to be on his toes and always be ready to make important decisions. But believe me, he's a very gentle man at heart. He cares about all of us. It's not uncommon for people to appear cold and unfeeling on the outside, but inside they have a sensitive and tender soul.

- Wow... - Kurapika was amazed by those words, - I don't know what to say... Is he really like that?

- Trust me, I'm a good judge of character. And besides, we've been teammates for who knows how long. I think if you asked anyone else, they'd tell you the same thing.

- Well, it's-- It's really amazing. There he is. I had a little idea, but thanks to you, I've learnt a lot about him.

- Why would you want to know that? - Melone asked with a wry smile.

- No reason... Simple.

They continued wandering around the market looking at the various products. However, they soon came across a stand of cherries.

- Wow, cherries! - Melonet was ecstatic.

- Yeah, cherries, what's the big deal? Do you like cherries?

- That's not really the point, - Melone took one cherry, - You see, there's a fun exercise.

- What is it?

Melone put the cherry on his tongue and started twisting it:

- Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero Rero.

- Ummm... - Kurapika didn't even know what to say. It was both disgusting and amazing at the same time.

- It's a special exercise for the tongue. If you practice it well, you can do things like this!

- Like what?

- Like when you kiss, you can really surprise your significant other.

- That's how it is.

- With a girl between your legs, you can do unreal things.

- I know what you mean!

- And if you take a guy's mouth in your mouth...

- I hear you! - The already blushing Kurapika interrupted him abruptly, - Enough!...!

Melone stopped his perversions and they continued shopping for provisions.

'Yeah... Melone's certainly a pervert, but he's also a pretty nice guy. He told me a lot of interesting things about Risotto. It was still interesting to find out what kind of person he is, and I'm not disappointed in him. He seems like a great guy to me. They're all great guys.'
