Infinite Providence: The First Legendary Death Supreme!

Chapter 97: The Grand Competition!

Why was it that Ken wasn't much interested in the auction but had shown a lot of interest in this event?

It was because this event had rewards that the auction didn't have, and it cost nothing but coming on top.

It was a competition, a battle competition.

*Rumble* *Rumble*

The room once again started changing from its very first design that it opened on to something great, something grand, something befitting of a battle competition.

Ken on his floating table alongside the elders didn't need to move, but the disciples sitting peacefully on the ground found themselves on top of arenas in batches and had no choice but to stand.

"Ladies and gentlemen, sorry to have kept you waiting for so long; the room has just been redesigned into a battleground with 10 separate arenas." Adam's voice reverberated through the entire Entertainment Core.

The room, which shouldn't have been able to transform into such a massive battleground, did, and aside from the 8 smaller arenas, in the very middle were two huge arenas made specifically for core and official disciples.

Indeed, this wasn't just for the weak, but everybody had a chance to participate and get beaten.

The arenas were all one huge piece of concrete only separated by variations of colors and strong spiritual shields.

Spirits flew around excitedly, and Ken listened attentively.

"The competition will go through phases, and the top 10 of each phase will get rewards."

"In the first phase, each batch from the outer and inner sects will fight against each other; the top 10 will move on and fight against the other top 10 of the other batches during the second phase." Adam announced.

"And then the remaining top 10 of the outer sect's 3 batches and the inner sect's 5 batches will fight against the top 10 of the core/official disciples." And then he dropped the bomb.

How could outer sect newbies fight against monsters from Adam's batch, let alone the inner sect... and the core sect!

Normally it wouldn't be possible, but measures were set in place, measures that would give a chance to some luck as well as mastery over techniques.

"There will be some formations in place that will make sure everybody fights in the same realm. The first of qi refining. Thus, it will be all up to your mastery over techniques." Adam said these words and stood silent for more time than normal.

-------

Inside the control room.

"Ah, honey, this is starting to get too hard for me." Adam, alongside his wife, who was clearing his sweat, took a sip of some drink emitting smoke and sighed.

His calm way of speaking and his calculating eyes differed slightly from what one who hears the announcement would imagine the person behind the voice to be like.

"It's fine; we'll rest soon." His wife's voice flew with the wind like flowers to his ears, and the man couldn't help but sigh.

--------

"The competition would go on until the very end, where the top 10 of all batches will be left, before the ranking from top 1 all over to top 100 will be published to the entire sect, based on technique and fighting mastery."

"The fights would be broadcasted to the entire sect, and the rewards are plenty and can be discovered on the scroll above." With Adam's words, everybody raised their heads, including Ken.

And there, a list of rewards for the top 10 of each phase was laid out: countless pills and spirit stones in the tens of thousands, low rank, mid rank, and even high rank.

Artifacts and formation disks, techniques, and even one-on-one lectures with elders, as well as rare items and ingredients that could manifest into years of hard work or cause a significant change in the consumer's physiology.

Such items, even if they appeared in the auction, and who knows if they did, Ken wouldn't have been able to buy them, not when he was the star of the show and all eyes were on him.

Where would he get such money? He wasn't in need of such attention.

"That will be it, ladies and gentlemen; the first batch to be called will be in a few minutes. So please, take your seats." With this final announcement, humans and spirits moved to the spectators' seats and waited patiently.

The room that shouldn't have possibly transformed into such a huge construct defied all logic and did, which confirmed anyone's suspicion of the greatness of formations that cause limited space to shrink and enlarge.

"You should be able to have a few bouts here and there with your brothers and sisters; don't hide anything and let loose. With your level of comprehension, I doubt anyone would have an easy time with you." The elder master spoke such words to Ken, and the disciple could do nothing but nod.

Be top 1 overall? That would be a far-fetched dream; at most, he would find himself in the top 20 to 30. This wasn't a degradation of his worth; it was pure reality.

But it was another reason to be excited. Who thought he'd have a chance to experience combat against his fellow disciple and even the core/official disciples all in one place at one time and in such a short time?

Sure, he wouldn't experience their full glory, but techniques were half of one's strength.

This once-in-a-lifetime gathering continued showing more and more of its worth as it went, from the elders' lectures to the book to this competition.

This was barely the fourth day, and so much has happened; by the end, when the elders had all given their lectures, his entire journey from there on would change drastically.

A minute passed, and then another, and then 5, before the call for the first combatants of each batch was made.

From the official disciples and core disciples, two from each side got up and went down, some with excited eyes, some calm, and some neutral.

And then, from his outer sect and the inner sect, two of each batch got up and walked towards the arena.

It was time for an entertaining show.
