Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 756 Sinister sight

As Rain arrived at the magic people's territory, he quickly noticed a few things. The area was notably devoid of the thick dust clouds that typically shrouded the region, creating an eerie and unsettling atmosphere since it was completely empty as well.

Furthermore, as Rain traversed deeper into their territory, he encountered their barrier. However, to his surprise, the barrier exhibited unusual behavior. Instead of its usual sturdy and impenetrable appearance, it seemed to quiver and vibrate intermittently, an indication of the turmoil within.

The absence of the dust cloud coupled with the barrier's unsettling tremors sent a chilling message to Rain. It was evident that something significant and potentially catastrophic was unfolding within the magic people's domain. The barrier, typically a symbol of security and strength, now seemed vulnerable and under severe pressure.

"... I should check things ahead a bit more…" Rain thought. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire

Rain kept flying and eventually passed above the capital of the magic people. He saw countless towers around it, but but not a lot of people were there… It seemed like the perfect chance to destroy their defenses, but Rain knew better that the magic or the beast people weren't the most troublesome enemies.

Rain kept going west and it didn't take long for him to find a battlefield… it was a scene that not many words would describe it… pandemonium seemed like a fitting word. Countless Earth dragons and their evolutions were fighting the magic people… since endurance and Vitality were their forte, the anti magic barriers truly weren't much of a problem to them and the reasons for it were obvious.

More than one thousand ordinary earth dragons charged toward the magic people without a care for their lives… the magic people summoned fire tornadoes that turned them into charcoal in minutes… others fell on massive pools of quicksand and had a hard time jumping out from it.

Some earth dragons were being impaled by massive bone spears… that made Rain wonder how the bone shooters were able to fire them from their hands or produce so many bones for that matter. Their attack power increased… all of their attack power increased and Rain could tell how since they had those suspicious wound and bloody brands in their bodies.

"... I feel like I don't want to work with them anymore," Rain thought. "Even if it is temporary, I don't want to work with retards that sold their freedom for borrowed power."

Among the earth dragons, Rain was able to find the real powerhouses… They were the evolved earth dragons. Aside from the golem dragons, Rain found the variation of all the other earth dragons.

The Giant Dragon was a colossal behemoth, towering above most other creatures with its immense size. Its scales ranged in various shades of earthy tones, were as tough as armor, providing formidable protection. Its wings span wide, capable of creating powerful gusts of wind with each beat, but it didn't let them fly that much thanks to their size.

Each step reverberated, shaking the ground beneath it, and its presence commands awe and respect.

The Basilisk Dragon embodied a striking fusion of serpent and draconic features. Its body was sleek and sinuous, covered in iridescent, shimmering scales that reflected many hues under the light. Its elongated neck bears a regal crown of horns that flare backward. Poisonous spikes lined in its spine, and when it breathed, a toxic mist emanated from its jaws, capable of petrifying its foes.

Radiating an aura like nothing else, the Golden Dragon was an insane sight. Its scales gleam with a powerful golden hue, shining brilliantly in the sunlight. The wings, stretching wide, appear as if crafted from the finest gold, yet they are strong and capable of gliding the dragon with grace and power. The Golden Dragon's presence exuded regality like nothing else.

The Spiked Dragon was an imposing creature adorned with formidable defenses. Its scales were rugged and jagged, resembling obsidian spikes pointing out in all directions, offering a natural shield against threats. Along its spine and tail, rows of sharp spikes glowed menacingly, serving as both offense and defense against adversaries.

The Crystal Dragon embodied an ethereal and mesmerizing appearance. Its body is translucent, shimmering with prismatic colors that refract and scatter light, creating a surprising spectacle. Each scale appeared like a faceted gem, reflecting a kaleidoscope of tones. Its wings are delicate and crystalline, resembling delicate stained glass that catches and diffuses sunlight in a breathtaking display.

Its movements were graceful, almost as if floating, giving it an otherworldly and majestic air.

The Tyrant Dragon exuded an aura of dominance and raw power. Its immense form was built with bulging muscles and robust scales, showcasing sheer strength. Its crimson scales, tinged with black, gave it a menacing and intimidating appearance. Its eyes burn with a fierce and unyielding determination, radiating an aura of ferocity. Spines adorn its neck and back.

The creature was bipedal and quite slim, so it probably could move quite fast…

"... This is insanity," Rain thought.

The battle just reached a level in a war that Rain never seen before… the golden and the crystal dragons fired spears at supersonic speeds at the magic people, and they defended themselves by blocking those attacks with earth walls… even those who weren't golem masters or quicksand executioners were able to create several layers of the walls to block the attacks.

The sound of the impacts could be heard even by Rain, who was two kilometers above the battlefield… if either side attacked the humans as they were, Rain and his friends wouldn't be able to do a single thing aside from running away…

"As expected… they decided to buy time in order to be branded by this unknown helper of theirs and in order to fight the dragons first and foremost," Rain thought.

While Rain was thinking of that, he suddenly felt his skin crawling. In the next moment, he felt the eyes of dozens of the evolved dragons on him…
