Chapter 757: Invisible enemies
Even though they couldn't they couldn't use magic inside the barrier, several of the crystal dragons, and the basilisk dragons began to flap their wings and slowly began to ascend and move away from the barrier… the magic people still didn't know what they were doing, so Rain decided to turn around and run as fast as he could.
Rain summoned his ice armor to break the wind and gain speed, but soon he felt his skin crawling again and when he looked over his shoulder, he saw the dragons chasing him.
"I could accept this speed if they were wind dragons, but this is just stupid…" Rain thought.
The Golden and Crystal Dragons were different from the huge dragons one could imagine. They were only about fifty meters long, which was big but not as massive as you'd expect from other dragons.
Normally, such dragons, being older and smaller and from that element, would have a problem keeping up with someone as fast as Rain. But these dragons were probably incredibly old, about two thousand years old. That kind of age brought them wisdom and skills that helped them overcome their slower speed.
Rain could see twenty dragons chasing him and he couldn't bring them to the human country, but since he wasn't with his shield, fighting against dragons of that level… it wouldn't be a good idea.
Before long, the crystal dragons began to fire crystal spears at Rain and they could fly four times faster than even Rain… it was moving at mach ten! Rain kept his eyes while looking over his shoulder and then moved to the side to avoid the projectiles. Still, they were getting closer and closer and the reason for that was Rain himself.
"Shit… I am moving fast and blasting away all the dust and showing the path that I am following," Rain thought. "That makes it easy for them to find and follow me."
The dust was hitting them like bullets as well, but since they were variants of earth dragons, they weren't causing damage at all… meanwhile, Rain felt the dust slowing him down… he enveloped his armor in wind to push away the dust and that increased his speed a bit, but not enough.
Rain had two options… fight them at close range or keep using magic. Rain had to decide fast between the Berserker King path or the Frost King's path. In the end, Rain chose the second option because that would improve his options when it comes to making the crystals.
"I guess I will try that…" Rain thought. "Their powers come from gluttony and envy, huh? Not the best combination and they aren't very compatible with me either."
Rain made two rings with blue gems, both of them consumed half of his mana, but it was a necessary bet. After equipping them, Rain quickly turned around and then flew toward the enemies after turning his guards into ice blades.

Rain's first target was a crystal dragon and the creature summoned a crystal wall to stop Rain. Still, he began to spin his body like a top and his ice blades easily pierced the crystal wall before hitting the neck of the beast.
Rain's ice blades pierced the scales and the flash, but he soon lost speed… even the flesh of the monster alone was hard and that was without counting on the scales… and the fact that Rain attacked it with an element that should have helped him.
Still, the monster grunted in pain and blood gushed from the wound and fell on Rain, but soon all the blood was absorbed by one of the rings.
The other dragons soon surrounded Rain, and then launched their attacks on him. Massive poison clouds and countless crystal spears were fired at him, but thanks to the poison cloud, the dragons were unable to see what they had hit.
Before long, the poison cloud was sucked by something and then Rain appeared standing at the top of the wounded crystal dragon… the creature looked like a porcupine since several crystal spears pierced its body… it was still alive though.
For some reason, one of the rings was sucking all of the poison cloud and the other was glowing… the dragons didn't care about that. They just attacked Rain again who jumped with all his might to avoid the attacks. Before the enemies could adjust their aim, Rain pointed the other ring at the basilisk dragons and then hit their mouths by firing several crystal spears using the other ring.
"... Wow, this sure consumes a lot of mana," Rain thought. "At least they are eating the attacks, literally."
Rain didn't know what would happen, but he was glad with the results. He tried to create magic rings with the power of the sins. One had all the feeling of gluttony that Rain experienced when he was training by starving himself and the other had all the envy that Rain could muster against those creatures that had so much power.
Thanks to it, one of the rings was able to eat the poison and convert it into energy for Rain while the other granted him temporarily the most basic skill of the crystal dragons… it was quite something.
The basilisks stopped breathing the poison through their mouths and then blood began to fall from their mouths as they groaned in pain… the crystal dragons stopped firing the attacks as well, but soon they used something else… their bodies began to glow and after illuminating the area enough to blind Rain for a couple of seconds, when he opened his eyes again, they were nowhere to be around.
"What the fuck?" Rain thought while looking around nervously. "They turned invisible?"
Isa told Rain that ice dragons could control light to some extent, but she didn't say that they could do that much. All of a sudden, Rain felt a shiver and then he jumped away from the head of the monster, only to see the creature being tossed around after being hit by something massive and sharp…
