Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 754 The next war

As night came, Rain decided to write. He meticulously chronicled every piece of knowledge he had amassed regarding combat techniques, magical insights, and the world's workings. Realizing the critical importance of this information for the future, Rain diligently documented everything.

Understanding the significance of passing down his accumulated wisdom, Rain was determined to ensure that his children, even if not directly taught by him, could access this repository of knowledge. He understood that arming the next generation with these insights would be crucial in facing the challenges that lay ahead.

By systematically organizing and cataloging his understanding of combat and magic, Rain sought to create a comprehensive compendium, envisioning it as a guidepost for his children and future generations to come and for himself as well.

"I guess I should also write down some training programs for everyone…" Rain thought.

It seemed that Rain was raising a death flag like that, but he knew that writing down things that he wanted to accomplish now would be helpful in the future and also his future plans. Perhaps they will give him insight for future problems as well.

The only things that Rain didn't write down were the things that he wanted to test in order not to be limited by the system. Those things could cause more trouble than they were worth, after all.

In the end, Rain had to work for several hours each night to compile everything. He also wrote down the theories on how one could learn the other skills related to the sins… that could be a problem, but he wrote down that such a thing would only be relied on in the worst case scenario.

"It is weird though… why such a thing as the corrupted power of the sins exist, but not the inverse?" Rain thought while he was checking everything that he wrote down. "I didn't see it until now, but they should have existed at some point."

Rain recalled again the virtues, Self-Control when it comes to sexual thoughts and actions, Moderation when it comes to food, Generosity when it comes to wealth, Diligence when it comes to hard work, Patience when it comes to anger, Gratitude when it comes to wanting too much, and Humility when it comes to one's achievements.

Diligence was Rain's bread and buttler, but he never got anything even thought he worked hard every single day of his life… he wasn't glutonous, he wasn't greedy for no reason, he was also pretty patience, he was very grateful for having a second chance in life… but he didn't learn any skill connected to those.

"Maybe the system didn't recognize them for whatever reason… coming up with skills and make them work with mana will be hard…" Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "In any case, I should write down the theories for those as well."

Rain thought that perhaps he could achieve something if he donated all of his money and possessions, that should be related to generosity, the inverse of greed, but that would be troublesome since he had a family to provide and he also had warriors to train.

Just the act itself wasn't enough… mana had to be involved as well. In any case, those were things that he could try in the future, when he has time. After compiling everything he knew, Rain decided to make a chest with a magic lock in it. The lock couldn't be destroyed, nor the box since it was being protected by a barrier created by the magic lock.

As long as Rain was around, the lock would never disappear and only he could open it… that was another thing that would make him eager to keep working hard to fight and survive no matter what.

After securely storing away the sealed box, Rain returned to his regular routines and pursuits. Days passed, and he received news that Jori and Reca had reached of the High Human path. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for them.

It was impressive progress considering their focus for physical activities; the fact that they successfully delved into more intellectual tasks showcased their determination and potential.

"Liss and Asche should be closer to this as well… and so are my sisters," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I wonder how Dad is doing in that regard. I think he is close."

Rain was a bit worried… he shared the insights of how to unlock the high human path with everyone thinking that achieving that would make everyone he cared about to live longer… still, such things would be hard to pull off for ordinary people like Leiah, Meiro and Luana… it would be sad if they were to depart and live a lot less than everyone else. "Maybe I can make some relics that can help them…" Rain thought. "I barely have time to sleep and eat and here I am looking for more things to do..."

At that point in time, Rain had a hard time coming up with explanations to convince himself that he wasn't a masochist. In any case, soon he came to realize that it would take a long while before he can think of that…

The next day, Rain began to receive some troublesome and worrying reports from his scouts… Geo was unable to see what was happening, but things were start to get noisy in the beast people country… now and then, he would sense some blasts that would push away all the dust in the air, but the barriers prevented him from getting closer to it.

Around the same time, Artisia also send reports that said the same thing… if the magic and beast people were trying to fool them for some crazy reason to make them raise their guards, they were managing that.

However, Rain knew that they wouldn't do such a thing… just like in the war agaisnt the giant beasts, that tremor and dust tried to prevent something from happening, but it didn't succeed this time.
