I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!

Chapter 66: A Young Master, a Nemesis and Elizabeth walk into a bar....

The wait was anything but boring, why?

"Do you have an idea who I am?!?!?" The annoying young master template D said while looking down upon one of the other people who seemed to be too busy in their own world.

"Shut it already!" And on the other hand the one who was being provoked merely answered as such.

"That was the wrong answer," Elizabeth whispered under her breath as she grabbed a fistful of popcorn from the bowl that they had found and started nibbling on the popcorn.

"Yeah, the issue is that he acknowledged their presence." Rossie said nodding at the side.

"You vermin who can't recognize Mount Tai when it's in front of them!" The spoiled young master (Template D) said as he roared and pulled a weird talisman from within his clothes, "I will exterminate your bloodline up to the seventh generation!"

That sounded... kind of harsh?

No wait, "They really do that?" Elizabeth said looking towards Rena, she was the more learned in martial matters after all.

"...Some try it, it almost never amounts to anything as a [Hero] or [Magical Girl] will arrive and defuse the situation," Rena said, sighing, "But yes, some of those old clans turned like this post advent."

That... seemed like a bad thing to happen.

Now Elizabeth really wanted to peek at the status screen...

"Taste this!" The young master template D said as he pulled out his sword (As in he actually pulled out from a sheath on his back a very thin and not impressive at all double-edged sword, "[One hundred flower blossoms under the moonlight]!"

....So fricking cringe.

And so wasteful use of mana, Elizabeth could see the mana start blooming from the sword, it shifted in color from blue into pink and while it looked impresive to the layman, to Elizabeth it was a wasteful effort of mana, more than 70% of the mana was wasted in the special effects and in generating the flower petals that started flowing around them.

These flower petals then became anchors for a second layer of the skill activation. Each one of them started to receive mana from the young master template D. And while he did a downwards cut with his sword, the flower petals resonated with that.

As if to reinforce the motion, each of them started to generate cutting-edge that was then catapulted towards the other that had stood against him.

"Hmm...." Elizabeth wasn't sure if she needed to interfere, the attack was substandard at best, but then again, she wasn't sure how much defense or how sturdy the other guy was.

"That's enough!" But before Elizabeth decided what to do a barrier suddenly descended and covered the other guy, then a second later the barrier blinked out and a new one materialized surrounding the Young Master Template D.

"Who dares?!?!?" The template young master said roaring as he attempted to attack with the sword, but the barrier was too close to him so he wasn't able to brandish his weapon.

"I am the supervisor," A man said walking into the waiting room, he was shining in green light and was wearing what looked to be an expensive suit. "And I will not allow fighting within this establishment."

"I am the son of the new rightful mayor!" The young master (Template D) said as he fumed within the barrier, "I demand this cretin to be removed from here!"

"He attacked me first," The other said while ignoring the young master, "He should be sent to another facility, one that isn't being used by normal sensible people."

"YOU DARE!" The young master said as his face turned redder and redder, he may have anger issues.

"We will proceed with the testing as is," The barrier user said, "For everyone's security we suggest for privat-"

"I will neither hide nor run away!" The young master said, as he stood forward, "Test me! And let the mogrel know their place!"

"Even if you accept and showcase your tier, they may not." The supervisor said as he pulled out a crystal ball, because of course it would be a crystal ball.

"One bet says that he ends up as a D tier," Rossie said from the side, her voice chimed around and the young master and his nemesis didn't seem to react to it.

"I think the spoiled one will be C tier at best, the other one will probably be a B tier." Rena added from the side, "What do you think Eli-Eli?"

"Hmm....they both will probably be A-tier?" Elizabeth said after thinking it for a second, "I mean, they wouldn't be this stuck up and act like that if they were weak. Society can find out your rough tier with skills, right?"

"..." "..." The two participants from this just pretend to not listen to them for some reason?

"Place your hand on the crystal," The supervisor said instead, pretending to also not hear Elizabeth, Rossie and Rena.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"Hah!" Meanwhile the young master placed a hand on it and started dumping mana into the thing.

Elizabeth was not aware that you needed to funnel mana into the thing, she had never done so before, usually Elizabeth would only touch the thing and get her result.

"HAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!" Meanwhile the young master continued to channel mana into the crystal sphere, soon a representation of a circle manifested in one of the walls.

It slowly started filling in as a letter appeared on the middle, it went from F to E, from E to D, from D to C, from C to B... Then it slowly started filling it once more.

The young master started to grab the crystal sphere more strongly as if that would make it go higher.

"Hah!" But alas, it didn't mean anything.

"Hmm.... B huh, that's kind of average, isn't it?" Rossie said from the side as the results came out.

"It is good for the populace, but for those at the peak, yeah. He is average at best." Rena said nodding from the side too.

"Next!" The supervisor said as he put a hand on the shoulder of the young master and moved to the side, "Place a hand on the crystal sphere."

The nemesis then sauntered forward, smirking at the young master, and placed his hand on the sphere. Unlike the young master, he didn't scream but kept a cool-looking face.

Not that it was enough to deceive Elizabeth, to her eyes she could see the barrage of mana going into the crystal sphere, he had good mana manipulation as he didn't let any leak to the outside. But that was about it, he had done exactly the same thing as the young master, so that meant that he was losing the points he won from keeping it cool.

"Does that really help tho?" Elizabeth couldn't help but ask.

"I don't think so, it may be a feelings thing." Rena said shaking her head, "We will find out after this."

"I will not do such an embarrassing thing," Rossie said, pouting, "Unless Eli-Eli wants?"

"What?" Elizabeth said surprised, meanwhile in the background the letter once more started shifting from the F all the way up. "Why would I want to do such a pointless thing?!?!?"

"I mean..." Rossie said turning to Rena.

"It kind of is the kind of dramatic things you like to do, right?" Rena said nodding.

"No," Elizabeth said shaking her head fiercely. "I will not do that, I don't mind the dramatics and the romance of things, but with unknown people? Why would I want to put on a show for those two annoying guys and the old man who just keeps glaring?!?!?!?"

Really, it was ridiculous. IF it was for the people on Terra Nexus, or for her friends, then yeah. She could be silly and make a show of things. But that was for the people she loved and wanted to entertain. Not for these unknown people.

"B tier!" The supervisor said when the screen stopped moving. "Good, two good seedlings."

"Yeah, that sounds about right." The nemesis guy said, "I didn't want to put too much effort into it, so that should be around right, this way there won't be complaints when I clean the floor with you."

"Hah!" The young master barked a laugh, "You wish, my clan can still provide me with resources to rise higher in the tier list!"

Then, turning to the supervisor, "I assume we can retake the test later if needed?" And asked as such, "And since these girls dared to use as entertainment, there will be no issue with us remaining to see them embarrass themselves?"

"You can retake the testing whenever you wish, but each one will have a charge, and each further testing will have a stepped-up cost." The supervisor said shrugging, "Next... Who would it be? As they said, it would be rude to ask them to leave when you got such entertainment from them."

"Want to go first Eli-Eli? If not I don't mind going first," Rossie said from the side as she stood up, no waiting for an answer?

"Then after Rossie it will be my turn, better that way." Rena said nodding, "Good luck Rossie."

"That is not needed," Rossie said as she walked toward the supervisor, getting past the two annoying men and standing there, "I don't need to make the same circus they did, right?"

"Just place your hand on the crystal, whether you infuse mana or not is up to you." The supervisor said, pulling a holopad and reading something there, "Most of the successful A-tier do infuse the crystal."

"And so does most of the lower ranks if I were to guess," Rossie said, smirking, "Well, if you want a circus, ask and you shall receive."

Rossie said placing her index and middle finger on the base of the crystal sphere, her palm was pointing upward so her two fingers formed a sort of upward claw.

And as if caressing the crystal sphere, Rossie started to do a small motion with those two fingers.

Elizabeth wasn't quite sure why, but that motion made her blush. Looking to the side, Rena also blushed quite furiously. Meanwhile, the young master and his nemesis were confused.

"A-A-A-A....A tier?!?!!??" The supervisor screamed as the results came after merely twenty or so seconds of Rossie playing around with the sphere.

"WHAT?!?!?" The young master said as he looked at Rossie as if she was some kind of monster, "SHE DIDN'T EVEN INFUSE HER MANA!"

"...Is there a hidden button there?" The nemesis said glaring at the sphere, "Or is this some kind of ruse?"

"I...can guarantee there are no hidden buttons, the data is sent to central, and a secondary assessment will be done at a later date." The supervisor said looking at Rossie as if she was some kind of monster too, "Please... do not... bersmich this device... Mistress Singh."

Rossie just smirked at him, pulled out a handkerchief and wiped her fingers, then with a single motion she threw it at the supervisor, who just stood there and did not move till Rossie was sitting once again with Elizabeth and Rena.

"Your turn now Ren-Ren!" Rossie said in her happy mischievous tone once again, "Go and break those insects egos!"

Rena nodded at Rossie and stood, "I'll be going Eli," And with a secure step she moved forward, as she walked to the crystal sphere, the supervisor took a step back.

Each step Rena took was a step the man took back, was... Was Rena intimidating him away?

"I'll clean it first if that is fine," Rena said hovering her hand above the crystal sphere, "I assume these are sturdy?"

"Wha- Yes they are." The supervisor said, his forehead filled with cold sweat, "They have a self-cleaning enchantment, you don't-"

"[Fire]" Rena uttered the word, and the crystal sphere was surrounded by a ball of fire. Elizabeth could vaguely perceive a couple of things being burnt away, but wasn't sure what they were. "There, no more bugs."

And with that said, Rena put her hand atop the sphere.

As if sensing it, the sphere quickly flashed once in red color and on the screen a letter showed itself.

"A+?!?!?!?" The supervisor said surprised, attempting to take a step forward but a single glare from Rena was enough for the man to stumble backward.

"Good enough," Rena said nodding and walking back to Elizabeth and Rossie, "I cleaned it for you Eli, no contamination from those two...men."

The last word had been a struggle for Rena, but it seemed that the therapy was doing wonders for her, as she had managed to refer to people from the opposite sex as humans!

She still didn't seem to want to interact with them, but that was that, a step was a step and Elizabeth would be happy for that.

"Thank you Rena!" Elizabeth said, hugging the red-haired girl, "Well. Wish me luck!"

And with that Elizabeth stood, she stopped in front of Rossie and gave her a chaste kiss on the forehead, Rossie had seemed to want a hug too, but Elizabeth didn't want to spend more time than needed if it was possible. They had wasted quite enough already, not that it hadn't been entertaining, because it had been.

Elizabeth had enjoyed the spectacle.

"Hello, do you want to check and make sure this is working as intended?" Elizabeth said as she stood in front of the crystal sphere, the thing looked new, Rena had done quite the work on it, "I saw Rena's fire burning away a couple of enchantments or skills on this thing."

"That wil lnot be needed," The supervisor said as he took a careful step forward, as if fearing Elizabeth would blast him with her aura like Rena had done, "Even if something was burnt away, the device that works to measure the Tier is deep within the crystal sphere, nothing on the outside is relevant for it to work. The important bits are within the center."

"Okay then," Elizabeth said taking a deep breath, she of course knew what would come from this, but even so, she had wanted to not need to do it. But it was too late for regrets, their future plans needed this to happen.

She needed the other members of [The Nine Stars] to know for a fact that Elizabeth was a threat, they couldn't see her as inferior or equal, they needed to know for sure that she could be a danger to them. And what was the best way to ensure that?

"Here goes nothing," Elizabeth said as she placed her hand on the crystal sphere, she felt it prodding at her mana, so with a thought she allowed the thing to interact with her mana.

What she noticed was that she didn't need to inject Mana into the thing, the thing would prod at the mana and gauge the purity of it.

The screen and how it climbed through the ranks was pure theatrics, it was powered by mana, yes, but it was powered by the mana of the people who injected Mana into the thing. And while Elizabeth would find it amusing, she was not here for that.

So instead she prodded with her mana into the thing to verify there wasn't anything that she needed to do, and when she found that there wasn't anything. She let go of the crystal sphere, she barely had touched it, perhaps a couple of seconds?

"That fast?" The young master said with a smirk on his face, "This is why the peasant-"

"S - TIER?!?!?!?!?" The supervisor screamed as he jumped backwards all the way to the nearest wall, "I AM SO SORRY MISS, DO YOU WISH FOR US TO REVOKE THESE PEOPLE'S CARDS?!?!? SHALL WE INCARCERATE THEM?!?!??"

Well, that was a little overdramatic, wasn't it?

"Hmm...." Elizabeth said while poking the crystal sphere, "I wonder if I could make this thing show you two as S-Tier too..."

"There is no need Eli-Eli," Rossie said shaking her head, "Better this way."

Well, Elizabeth would have to take that then.
