I Suddenly Became Rich, But I Have No Idea How to Spend the Money

Chapter 3

About a week had passed since that incident, and the commotion had faded from the minds of the students, with time flowing as usual.

Just as Kirishima was beginning to forget about Mr. Nakamura, an unknown number appeared on his phone screen.

Curious about who it might be, he answered the call.

“This is Nakamura. Kirishima-kun, right? If you’re free, I’d like to take you out for dinner tonight. Do you have any plans?”

“Ah! Mr. Nakamura! How have you been feeling since then?

I’m just a college student with plenty of free time, so I can go now if you’d like!

I’d love to join you!”

“I’m doing well, thanks to you. That’s the spirit!

I’ll pick you up around seven. Will the university be a good place to meet?”

“I’m glad to hear you’re doing well!

The time and place are fine. I’ll wait near Hankyu Ishibashi Station at seven.”

“Alright, see you at seven then.”

“Yes, looking forward to it. See you then.”

Kirishima was relieved that he didn’t have work that evening. He couldn’t help but feel excited, wondering what kind of luxurious meal a company president would have for dinner.

After his classes ended, he killed some time flipping through magazines at a convenience store and the university co-op. As the appointed time approached, he made his way to Hankyu Ishibashi Station.

Being a car enthusiast, Kirishima pondered what kind of car the company president would drive.

“It must be a high-end luxury car with an ‘L’ emblem. Or maybe it’s a three-pointed star, the symbol of the ultimate luxury vehicle?”

As he indulged in these thoughts, a voice called out to him.

“Kirishima-kun! Over here, over here!”

He turned toward the voice.

“No way!”

Seeing the car Mr. Nakamura had arrived in, Kirishima was stunned.

It was as long as a train.

A Rolls-Royce.

The legendary British automobile brand, cherished by world leaders and heads of state throughout history. A name synonymous with prestige.

Rolls-Royce was also known for manufacturing aircraft engines, and their automobiles were among the world’s most luxurious.

“Mr. Nakamura, this car is amazing!”

Seeing a Rolls-Royce up close for the first time, Kirishima was beyond excited.

After all, no one back in his hometown had anything like this.

“Oh, come on now. Just hop in!”

“Excuse me!”

Kirishima opened the door and stepped inside.

Only now did it really hit him that, of course, there was a chauffeur.

“This car is incredible.”

“Well, I am a company president, after all. There are certain expectations, you know?”

Nakamura laughed it off, but Kirishima couldn’t help but feel that this man was truly someone extraordinary.

At the same time, his excitement grew over what kind of dinner awaited him tonight.

“How about sushi at my usual spot for dinner? If you’re not a fan, we can go for some meat instead.”

“Sushi, please! I prefer fish over meat!”

Having grown up surrounded by elderly people, Kirishima had developed a taste for Japanese cuisine over Western food. He considered himself a health-conscious young man.

“That’s the spirit! Makes it all the more worthwhile to bring you along. Alright, let’s head to Kitashinchi!”

Kitashinchi?! I’ve never been there before!

For a broke college student, Kitashinchi was an unfamiliar and unattainable world.

Kirishima couldn’t contain his growing excitement.

“Yes, please!”

During the ride, they exchanged casual small talk until they finally arrived at the restaurant.

It was a sushi place even ordinary college students knew about—an establishment so exclusive that walk-ins would never get past the door.

The large sign read “Saeki.”

Kirishima trembled with excitement.

“S-Saeki…!

I never thought I’d have the chance to dine here…!

And I showed up in such casual clothes…!”

His inner monologue was screaming.

Of course, he couldn’t voice such thoughts in front of Mr. Nakamura.

He couldn’t risk causing any trouble for the man who had kindly invited him.

Feeling more than a little overwhelmed, Kirishima followed Mr. Nakamura inside.
