Chapter 106: The Final Room(2)

The Djinn's roar echoed through the chamber, shaking the very walls. Its molten form burned brighter with each passing moment, radiating an almost unbearable heat. The team stood firm despite their exhaustion, determination etched into their faces.

Ava: "We've cracked it, but it's not enough. We need more pressure!"

Luna: "And fast. This heat's going to fry us if we don't wrap it up soon."

Amid the chaos, Henry stepped forward, flames already swirling around his clenched fists. His normally laid-back demeanor was replaced with a rare intensity.

Henry: "Alright, guess it's time I stopped holding back. Let's turn up the heat."

Ava glanced back at him, raising an eyebrow.

Ava: "Turning up the heat? You do realize it's literally made of fire, right?"

Henry: "And that's why we fight fire with fire. Watch and learn."

Henry thrust his arms forward, his flames morphing into a concentrated lance of blue fire that shot straight toward the Djinn's exposed core. The impact caused another crack to spread through its molten body, the creature letting out an ear-splitting wail.

Amelia: "That's it! Henry, keep focusing on the core. I'll back you up."

Amelia nocked another arrow, her light magic weaving intricate patterns along its shaft. The air around her shimmered as she channeled her energy, her focus unwavering.

Amelia: "Ava, can you keep its attention on you?"

Ava: "Thought you'd never ask."

Ava darted forward, her flames flaring around her in an unpredictable dance. She hurled fireballs at the Djinn's face, each one exploding with a loud crack. The creature's head snapped toward her, its hollow, fiery eyes narrowing.

The Djinn swung its massive arm, but Ava was faster, sliding beneath it and retaliating with a burst of fire that struck its side. She grinned as she felt its molten form shudder.

Ava: "Yeah, that's right. Keep looking at me, you overgrown lava lamp!"

Meanwhile, Henry pressed his advantage. His flames grew hotter, transitioning from blue to an almost white-hot intensity. Sweat dripped down his face as he poured more magic into the attack, the lance of fire carving into the Djinn's chest.

Henry: "Amelia, now's your chance!"

Amelia loosed her arrow, the light-infused projectile streaking through the air like a comet. It struck the Djinn's core dead center, embedding itself deep within the cracks Henry's flames had created. The creature let out a guttural roar, stumbling as molten chunks fell from its body.

Liam: "We're getting through! Keep it up!"

From the sidelines, Luna and Mia prepared another spell, their water magic crackling with icy energy.

Mia: "We can't let it absorb this one. Luna, freeze it as soon as it lands!"

Luna nodded, her hands weaving a complex pattern as the two unleashed their combined magic. A jet of supercooled water shot toward the Djinn, striking its molten exterior. Before the creature could absorb the moisture, Luna froze it solid, encasing parts of the Djinn's body in ice.

Luna: "There! It's vulnerable now!"

Ava didn't hesitate. She leaped forward, her flames surging around her fists as she aimed a devastating punch at the frozen section. The impact shattered the ice, sending fragments of molten rock flying.

The Djinn staggered, its movements becoming more sluggish. But it wasn't done yet.

The creature raised both arms, summoning a massive firestorm that engulfed the chamber. The team scattered, shields flickering as they struggled to withstand the heat.

Jack: "This thing just doesn't quit!"

Ava: "Neither do we. Henry, Amelia—can you do that again? One more hit might do it!"

Henry smirked, though his breathing was labored.

Henry: "Oh, I've got plenty left in the tank. Amelia?"

Amelia was already preparing another arrow, the light magic swirling around her in golden waves.

Amelia: "Let's finish what we started."

The two moved in sync, Henry unleashing another lance of white-hot fire as Amelia's arrow streaked toward the Djinn's core. The combined attack struck with devastating force, causing an explosion that sent shockwaves through the chamber.

The Djinn let out a deafening roar, its molten body cracking further. But instead of collapsing, it seemed to stabilize, its form solidifying as the molten exterior hardened into black, volcanic rock.

Liam: "Uh, is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

The Djinn's fiery eyes reignited, its rocky body now acting as armor. It slammed its fists into the ground, creating a fissure that spewed molten lava across the room.

Ava: "Definitely a bad thing."

The team scrambled to avoid the molten streams, their movements growing more desperate as the Djinn launched another wave of attacks.

Henry: "Alright, Plan B. Anybody got one?"

Amelia's eyes narrowed as she studied the Djinn's movements. Despite its new armor, the cracks around its core were still visible, though smaller.

Amelia: "The cracks are still there, but they're harder to hit now. We'll need to weaken it again."

Luna: "And we'll have to watch the heat levels. It's not going to hold back anymore."

Ava glanced at her team, her expression grim but determined.

Ava: "Then neither will we. Everyone, focus your magic on its core. We've brought it this far—we're not letting it win now."

The team regrouped, their magic flaring as they prepared for another coordinated assault. The Djinn roared, its fiery eyes daring them to try.

And beyond the barrier, Dakota's fight with the dark mage raged on. Flames and shadows clashed in a deadly dance, neither side giving an inch.

Dark Mage: "Your friends won't last much longer. You should focus on saying your goodbyes."

Dakota smirked, his flames burning hotter.

Dakota: "You're awfully confident for someone who's about to lose."

The mage snarled, launching a torrent of dark tendrils. Dakota countered with a wave of fire, the two forces colliding in a blinding flash of light.

As the battle continued, the team fought with everything they had, the Djinn's roars growing louder with each attack. But despite their exhaustion, none of them faltered.

They knew one thing for certain: they wouldn't leave this room without Emma—and they wouldn't lose to this monster.
