I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 577: Race Against Time

Tears rolled down Elliot's eyes as he listened to his mother. He wanted to meet his father and he wanted to let him know that he was fine and safe. Elliot all ever wanted to be was to become his father, to be the mightiest Adventurer.

"Your words echoed in my mind all these years, mother," Elliot said. "When my life was hard, and when calamities befall upon me, I have always engraved your words in my mind. Our little conversation was all I ever thought of.

"I never gave up because of the words that lingered inside my head all these years. I wanted to become the mightiest, I wanted to show you that I am strong, and I could protect the people I hold dear," Elliot took a deep breath. "And even when I'm having a hard time right now, I'm slowly reaching that dream."

"Of course, you are, child." Melissa wrapped Elliot in her arms. "All we ever wanted was for you to have the best life."

"I am having the best life," Elliot grinned. "I met friends, folks, and even enemies that etched their ways into my life and shaped me for who I am right now. They helped me become who I am and helped me reach my goals."

"That is good," Melissa smiled. "But then here is what's important."

Her face suddenly shifted from warm to serious. She sighed before she told Elliot everything. "You are the one who will end Malice. You are the Prophecized Boy, the child born of darkness and light. I am the darkness from Hell and your father was the light from Heaven. You are born from love and you will kill Malice."

"But isn't she my grandmother?" Elliot gulped. "Can I do that?"

"She's not your family," Melissa said. "She's a tyrant who killed countless of people in her different lives. She wants nothing but complete dominance over all living things and for her, and only her, to prosper. She doesn't want anyone to be involved except for her. She wants to rule the realms alone."

Elliot nodded as he watched his mother slowly smile. "What's wrong, mom?"

"There is one more thing," Melissa muttered. "Reginald and I possess vast amounts of magic and energy. When we die, Soul Collectors are drawn to us and wants to collect our souls."

"You mean..." Elliot gulped as tears brimmed his eyes once again. He wanted to speak, but his words were lodged on his throat. He was speechless. "I can... I can see you again?"

Melissa nodded. "If all things go well, you can see us both. Frederick will check if I was revived and he will tell you once the time comes. If I survived and this hidden memory is closed, this conversation will enter my mind and I will regain my sanity."

"But then Malice would want to take her body, so you'll have to move fast," Francoise said. "If she succeeds, you'll have twice as hard to recover your mother. So once tou go out from here, you have to take Malice out and kill her."

"But I'm fighting Bruno— no, Sariel," Elliot said. "He's an Angel who's powerful enough to put me into sleep. Even my friends had no power against him."

"So, he caused trouble after all," Francoise sighed, shaking his head in amusement and frustration. "I should've taken him out when we had the chance. He was too keen on agreeing with the plan and he really did have a plan of his own."

"How do we defeat him?" Elliot asked. "He's too powerful."

"You guys are pathetic," Luck laughed, but Melissa gave him an angry look, making him chuckle and clear his throat. "I assume you know Omniscience?"

"Yes," Elliot nodded. "What is it?"

"Omniscience can counter any skill, especially the ones that take control of the body," Frederick said. "If you use your power, you can retake your body. But then it will be hard because you then have to recover your energy."

"Then they'll have to battle Sariel before battling Malice," Melissa said. "How can we make them all wake up?"

"Elliot!"

They all turned to look behind them, seeing Lance and Ed. Elliot felt like he was safe. He smiled and grinned. "You idiots. What did you do?"

"It took us to the happiest moments of our lives and mine happened to be when we were together and then all of you were so weak that I snapped out of it," Ed shrugged. "Then I woke up and took Lance with me."

"My happiest memory was also when we were together," Lance pouted. "I assume you don't like us as much as you like them. Oh, wait are those—"

"Hey!" Hope ran inside the bubble and caught up to the two with the others following him. "Oh, there's Mister Francoise, Mister Frederick, and Mister Luck. Miss Trinidad is here too. What is going on?"

"Everyone..." Elliot smiled and introduced the people behind him. "I assume you all know Trinidad. Then I'll have to introduce you to my mother and Pentos."

"Pentos?!" Elliot's friends chorused with a loud gasp.

"Frederick, Luck, and old man Francoise was from Pentos?" Lance placed a hand on his chest dramatically. "Since when?"

"We don't have much time," Melissa said. "The sudden arrival of several people have shaken the sealed memory. It will close in a while."

"Elliot's mother?" Lance walked up to her. He then bowed and smiled. "I am so happy to have known you, ma'am. Your son is the crazies bastard— person, I know. He likes to do a lot of things on his own. He got killed countless of times but his endless luck and skills helped him not...

die? But I am so glad you gave birth to such wonderful boy. He's our best friend."

Melissa was taken aback, but then she laughed. She placed her hand on Lance's chest, smiling at him. "Take care of my son. I will see you all soon."

"Soon? Didn't your mother..." Lance tilted his head to the side. "I don't get it."

"Everyone, use your Omniscience to break out!" Frederick yelled. "This skill will break when all of you gather your powers here, I'm sure."

A surge of powerful magic wrapped around the dome before it shattered. Elliot bid farewell to his mother as he focused himself on breaking free from the skill. Everyone yelled as they charged their powers to as best as they could.

"Break free, my child," Melissa said. "When the time comes, we will see each other again."

"Soon, mother!" Elliot yelled. "I will see you soon!"

When the dome finally broke, the black empty space wrapped around them. The people from the memory faded, and the only ones left were the people that the skill was cast on.

"Just a little bit more," Ed said. "And..."

Crack.

The skill cracked and shattered like glass. Every single one of them was pulled to their bodies, waking up back to Hell where they were left behind.

"Where is Bruno?" Lance said. "He must be here."

"Irus, they're awake!" Connor rushed towards them and wrapped his hands around his friends. "All of you are idiots and a bunch of slowpokes. You should've dodged that attack!"

"If I knew that it would do that, I would've dodged it too," Lance said. "But then I don't. That's why I got hit."

"Dumb idiots," Connor chuckled. "Bruno petrified himself to try and lock you inside his skill. But now you're free..."

A powerful burst of power was heard nearby. They all turned to see Irus dragging Bruno as the latter tried his best to break free from the man's grip.

"Please don't kill me," Bruno cried. "I don't want to die! Help me, please!"

"You can help yourself in the afterlife," Irus growled. "Elliot. Take care of Malice."

Elliot nodded and dragged his friends with him. "We have to get to Black Castle to defeat Malice. She has my mother."

"Why would she have your mother?" Lance asked. "Unless your mother is actually the Princess of Hell?"

"She is," Elliot said. "After her skill deactivated, her consciousness returned and she is now fit to be Malice's next body. We don't have much time left."

"Get on my back." Hope shifted into his dragon form. "I'm the fastest here. Let's go."

"Can I leave him to you?" Elliot asked Irus. "He's going to be fesity."

"He can't do anything to me anymore," Irus growled. "He's the reason for my siblings' corruption. He has top pay."

"Oh, he is?" Elliot chuckled as he rode Hope. "I almost feel sorry for him."

They left the others and hurried to where his mother was. It was a race against time, and they cannot lose this one. They have to get there as soon as they can or else it will be too late. He can't lose his mother again, not this time.

"Hope, go faster, please!" Elliot said. "I don't want to lose my mother again."

"Then I'll be the fastest dragon ever!" Hope yelled before flying twice his speed.
